By far 1 of the BEST beer bars I've been to! The service was spectacular, and so was the food! The honey Sriracha dip for the steak egg rolls was the perfect amount of heat and very well balanced! My salmon salad - fantastic! And those wings were really good also! Beer selection - wow! 120 beers on tap. This place was huge! There are no booths from what I saw from where we were sitting, but they had plenty of seating when we went at 4pm on a Fri afternoon. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu and beers! Samples of beer are free! They have 4 or 5 beer flights you can choose from, or build your own. Starting price is $14. If you're not into beer or cider, there's also liquors for mixed drinks.

We are visiting from out of state, and came here on the recommendation of the front desk lady that checked us in at our hotel. I had the bulgogi tacos and they were DELICIOUS! My spouse had one of the hamburgers on a rye bun, and tells me it was good. We had a lot of questions about the available foods due to allergies and food sensitivities that we have, and our waiter was very helpful and understanding. And the Deals cider was so sweet and delicious we are about to go track some more down!!

Nice selection of beer, tasty and generous portions of food, and friendly staff.

All the beers I tried were good, and my mom (who doesn't like beer) enjoyed her cider. The food paired well with the drinks. The sandwich could have used a little more flavor, thankfully they had hot sauce. Looking forward to trying a different flight the next time I visit

Definitely a Iowa Hotspot this place had the whole bang I enjoyed every moment they were extremely busy but the staff had the place on lock they were very attentive, friendly and social despite the traffic I had Keg creek,Moongold apricot, wheat with apricot beer very good! for dessert I had Bread pudding,Served with vanilla ice cream and bourbon caramel sauce. It was to die for it definitely had grandma running for the kitchen, the only thing it was missing were the raisins which are honestly more of a personal preference. I will definitely be visiting this establishment again in the near future! A must visit if you are in the area.

On the recommendation of the concierge at my hotel, I ventured to Iowa Taproom before flying out of Des Moines. Not only was I pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and service, but the selection of local craft beer was absolutely phenomenal. Nearly every style of beer you can imagine, they have it on tap and from a local brewer. I highly recommend stepping in to the Iowa Taproom if you are in town.

Good food, good beer, and a friendly atmosphere. We stopped in for some appetizers and beer. We will definitely come back again.

Put our name in and they texted when we put table was ready. Wait was long on a Saturday night so we got a drink at peace tree while we waited. Food was good and that dessert was even better!!

Great service and atmosphere. The food was very good, we had the fried pickles as an appetizer and the Tenderloin Sandwich and the Meatloaf dinner. Huge selection of Iowa craft beers on tap.

We had such a wonderful visit as we were passing through Des Moines…. The food was amazing I highly recommend the turkey wrap and the ham balls!
The selection of beer was awesome! And our waitress was very knowledgeable about them!

We went on a packed Saturday night and sat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and quick! We loved the option of the 6oz sizes and each sampled a few different drinks. My chicken bacon ranch sandwich and the bread was delicious, my husband loved his fried chicken. We will definitely be back!

We had a group of 14+ with a mix of kids and adults. Our server, Lizzy was awesome, chill, and completely on her game with our large group! Can honestly say I haven't had better service for such a large group. Can't forget about the manager who was super responsive and communicated with us to our large group! Great night at the Iowa tap room!

For the business we were the large group with a bunch of softball girls that were in the evening of 4-20-24!

Went for lunch. Sat at the bar. Service efficient and friendly. Great Bloody Mary! Asian chicken salad delicious. Good balance of sweet spicy crispy and crunchy fresh. Fried shrimp and fries very tasty. Large shrimp, tempura like batter light and flavorful. We would order both again. Love the atmosphere at the bar!

Great food. Great service. Friendly environment. Perfect for after work or the weekend with friends.

Wow, I have do admit I didn't think a place could be this good, the 4.6 star rating is really high, but sure enough, it is great. I had a delicious farm burger and two nice milk stout beers.
I was on my own so I sat right at the bar, but found it fine. The staff were friendly and the patrons were really friendly, too. The place is clean and tidy with a cool, rustic vibe to it.
The service was fast, too.
Parking was ok, I parked 5 minutes walk north and had no problems getting free street parking. Pro-tip: park and walk to get free parking.

Taproom: perfect as always! My burger was cooked to perfection, fries were hot and extra crispy, and our server was wonderful.

Not many places offering the selection of beers and ciders they have. Even as more of a bourbon drinker this was impressive. For the meal we had the ham balls and a fried pork tenderloin sandwich. Food tasted good, had a nice presentation, and was out relatively quick. Would definitely come back to try other stuff. Also a neat decor inside.

First time trying the Iowa Tap Room! We’ve heard wonderful things so wanted to try it for ourselves! There was a few of us, we got the BBQ Meatloaf, fish n chips, Caesar salad, kids burger, kids chicken, kids Mac, and asian wrap! They were all so good. Our server was also great and checked on us multiple times and made sure drinks were full. We very much so enjoyed our first time and will be back.

Can I leave 100 stars? So many local (Iowa) draft beers! Beers and food arrived to our table with lightning speed! Everything exactly as ordered, and fresh. Our server Dylan was awesome (he deserves a raise!!) Answered all our questions with patience and recommended beers based on our tastes. Ordering and checkout (at the table) was easy and fast. Dylan also answered my questions about the area which was super helpful. I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich which was delicious and my husband got the chicken fried chicken (gobbled up). We will be back for sure.

First time going here. For significant others birthday. Very good choice for a nice experience and meal away from home. Relaxing atmosphere, yet lively with groups of people. Seemed like a place that would be good for large or small groups bc so few places can handle very many large groups. You're covered here. Service was good. Food was delicious. Would recommend the fish and chips. The artichoke dip was good but portion small. Would rather pay more and have more to share. Some didn't like the bread that's served with it. On the fish and chips the slaw was a garnish amount in essence. It was a great complement to the fish and chips. Would like to have gotten more of that with the meal. But overall those are the only constructive criticisms we had. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Someone that did not get the fish and chips this time is looking forward to getting it next time. I was kind enough to share a bite of mine.

Always like to give a brewery or tap house a try when in a new city. They had some many choices on tap, though some were out of stock, but still other selections to be made. Another quick order to food turn around. Servers are really nice. Beers and ciders were tasty. Would recommend. Food was just as good as well.
