Witmer Park

Take my dog here often and sometimes get on the swings with my sister. The animals around the little pond here create a wonderful ambient soundtrack and it's a short walk to get food after. Good spot to relax for a short trip, quick walk or a long sit. Can go fishing here too!

I've been going to this park since I was a child.

They added trails around and through the park a fishing dock and a few private looking pick nick areas.

Such a beautiful neighborhood park, with a new playground! The restrooms were closed when we visited, maybe because it's later in the year. We'll definitely be back!

I used to fish that lake with my Grampa probably in around 1950 or 51. Was and still is a beautiful park and lake. There used to be a huge amount of snapping turtles in those days. Wonderful memories. Enjoy.

Nice quiet park nestled by trees and surrounding homes. Very pleasant and the variety of swings is nice

This park is not huge, but it has a swing set and small playground, four or five picnic tables, a large field for dogs to romp around on, and is generally a beautiful place overlooking a small pond and sort of up on a hill. We picnicked on our way through Des Moines at this park and thought it was spectacular. Not large but very nice in a quiet neighborhood.

Beautiful newly rebuilt park. Saw bullfrogs, dragonflies, and trash. I picked up the trash and deposited it in a close by trashcan. Please do the same when there.

A very quiet and beautiful park

Great park, still a work in progress and it's just been installed, but great equipment and trail around the pond as well as tennis/pickleball courts!

I enjoy walking around this little park that is tucked away in Beaverdale. I watched turtle feed on a small dead fish while meandering my way around the pond/lake. People fish there too, so that's a nice added touch to the scenery.

If you have not been to Witmer lately, you are missing the fantastic changes. What a beautiful park! We go there several times a week. Fishing, walks, peaceful relaxation!

I love this park so much I recommend everybody to go to this little hidden Jewel in the Drake neighborhood plenty of room to run and play tennis courts there's a giant pond on the park where you can go fishing the fishing is fair with a lot of little bluegill but there are some big bass and catfish in there and carp and koi fish There Are Places to BBQ and have Good Times

My pup, Daphne, loves visiting Witmer Park. It is in the middle of ongoing renovations, and I am looking forward to seeing the end-product. I think it's supposed to be done sometime spring/summer 2020.

Beautiful park and very new play structure in place with what looks like a splash pad and bathrooms coming soon. Jan 2022.

Started coming to this park back in 95'. It's a lot different these days. Just a cool relaxing park. Great place to catch sunsets at.

Played pickle ball with a good friend and found the park was so beautiful with amazing, mature pine trees, excellent natural grass and wildflower areas - lovely!

Looked beautiful today, on Easter!!! Sometime you can get free wifi; networks always work. Great place for a relaxing afternoon.

Nice park, I love going there with my grandson. We walk around the pond and talk about the different animals that live there.

Take your kids and family out for a picnic or hit the beautiful trails. Absolutely gorgeous place
