The Castro Barber Lounge

I have been coming here for about a year now and so far I've really enjoyed getting my hair cut here. It's definitely a casual vibe and a lot of barbers accept a variety of payment options here (confirm with the barber before booking). Nick McNamara is the barber I tend to go to here and he really is such a great and funny barber/stylist.

I met Irene through chance and my hair has been Amazing ever since. I have long femme hair and I get the nape shaved/ undercut. This Barber does a GREAT job. I love going to a barbershop rather than a salon. Super easy booking too!

This place is magic. It’s been over 3 years since I cut my hair at this place and it’s been fantastic. Angel is my to-go barber but every one is great. Customer service is the best and they will make you feel welcome! Get ready to have a great laugh!

I've been coming here for years now. The place is super friendly - Castro (the pup) is so welcoming. The prices are super reasonable. Having gotten a consistently great haircut from half a dozen of the barbers here, I wouldn't hesitate letting anyone here cut my hair.

Angel was fantastic. With significant thinning at the crown I came in prepared to just shave it all off and to make this my last barber visit ever. I came specifically to this place because they looked fun, friendly, and most importantly: honest. I had to make this last one count! But Angel didn’t think my hair was too far gone yet and instead proposed to try a different look. And if I didn’t like it, he’d still shave it all off. Needless to say, I liked what he did and I’ll definitely be coming back! Oh, also bonus points for being super dog friendly.

I was walking around Castro and decided that since my last haircut was in New York City, why not get my fresh fade done in Castro? Definitely was not disappointed. Angel was able to get me in and give me a really good cut. If you're around I suggest you go.
