Molly's Cupcakes

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. We used them for our wedding cake and minis at our wedding. We had such a great experience with this vendor during wedding planning that we came back to order minis for our baby shower. This is our favorite spot to hit when we’re in the area- the peach cobbler cupcake is my personal favorite. Their customer service is always top tier, the store is immaculately clean, and the cakes are always fresh and beautifully made. I love recommending this to friends and family that are visiting from out of town.

A search of the best Scotcheroos in the Des Moines area led us to Molly's and we were not disappointed! We arrived on a Saturday evening about an hour or so until close, and they still have a such a great selection. The cupcakes looked absolutely divine! We were graciously offered a sample of their scotcheroo and of course it was delicious. We ended up getting a scotcheroo, 4 large cupcakes, and a mini. Throughout the next couple days we tried each cupcake and they were seriously some of the best cupcakes we've tried anywhere! And the scotcheroo was just as amazing! We cannot wait to come back here and try more flavors of cupcakes and to get another scotcheroo. Such a great bakery!!

Had a great time here!! My youngest was doing a cupcake frosting party for girls scouts tonight at their Molly’s frozen building, so my other daughter and I came over to the cupcake building to kill our time and enjoyed they 2 we ordered so I then added a coffee and 4 more to go!! Board games need updated that would have been fun, but overall it’s a really fun and cute place to relax and catch up!!

Charming decor, tasty treats, great customer service. Really, the only downside, like most downtown businesses, parking is difficult. But don't let that stop you from going to get some of the yummy cupcakes and other treats from Molly's. It's worth the hassle! My granddaughter says, "this is a fun place to eat!"

Ordered for delivery for my business on a Saturday. Easy process to do online. Went with the filled variety pack so people could choose their own.

Well I ended up eating 4 of them. Over 4 days time so don't be too hard on me. All 4 I had were 10 out of 10. So moist, gorgeous to look at, no skimping on filling or frosting. I am usually a chocoholic but my favorite was a lemon one with no frosting. Never would have known if I hadn't hidden it back for myself.

Delivered at the time I chose, delivery charge of $5. Total for a dozen $39. There are less expensive options, I just had to have the filled ones.

Cannot wait for another excuse to treat someone to these. Next time will try a different goody. Yummy.

This was my first time ordering from inside the store. I've only ordered through GrubHub until now. It's a really cool space and the swings are a fun idea! These are THE BEST cupcakes in DSM! Moist, not too sweet, great texture, and they're pretty to look at! I've tried other places since moving to DSM 2 years ago and no one else comes close!

I absolutely love Molly’s Cupcakes!!! I had my daughter’s birthday cake done and it was fabulous! Placing the order was a breeze and the cake actually turned out to be better than the photo I shared with them. The only thing that was missing was the cake toppings, but I had them arranged myself. And to my delight they didn’t work with fondants at all which made my cake super soft & scrumptious..Of course their cupcakes are out of the world too! ❤

We absolutely loved the taste of the cupcakes. We had a chocolate, vanilla, red velvet with buttercream frosting(amazing), all of them are delicious and added rice crispy treat which was great tasting. The overall experience was good.

Reminders be careful of where you park. Crow tow almost towed my vehicle. I wasn’t even in the store for 10 minutes, I came out of the door facing the parking lot just in time to stop them. The guy working for crow tow was nice, explained the parking to me, but be careful where you park.I parked in the parking lot right next Molly’s, other then that, Absolutely wonderful cupcakes 🧁.

Edit - fast forward to a few years later and we chose Molly's to make our son's 1st birthday cake. It turned out fabulous and better than I even envisioned! I cannot recommend Molly's enough!

Molly’s made our wedding cake and dessert and they were such an amazing choice! The entire process was extremely easy, the tasting was so fun (I loved how everything was customizable) and the final design of the cake was exactly how we had envisioned it! Not to mention that they were extremely affordable. We had originally planned to have a 200+ wedding but due to the pandemic had to cut our numbers significantly. Molly’s were super easy to communicate with and I definitely appreciate that. Our wedding cake was peanut butter/Nutella flavored (yum!) and was so delicious and moist. We opted for a bunch of different mini-flavored cupcakes so our guests could choose their favorite flavors and honestly, they were all amazing, it’s hard to even choose my favorite. We had chocolate cupcakes with brown butter frosting, crème brulee, key lime pie, vanilla and an almond-flavored cupcake. They were even able to make a few GF cupcakes for my flower girl w/ Celiacs. I also love that they offer a free wedding cake on our 1st wedding anniversary so we won’t have to eat freezer-burned wedding cake. Can’t wait! Thanks Molly’s for making our night extra sweet!

The Molly's team made sure our cake and cupcakes were amazing for our wedding day. Guests have not stopped talking about how much they loved them! Great communication, prompt delivery, highly recommend.

These are my favorite cupcakes. We go for all birthdays! The variety is phenomenal. The cupcakes are so moist.

Best cupcakes hands down!!! We have ordered a couple of times and we are always impressed. Today we had cupcakes delivered for our 5 year old son’s birthday and he was so excited for his birthday cupcake. Highly recommend!

Those are wonderful freshly baked and prepared cupcake. The divers flavor are full of taste.
The location is very cute and unique, such a gem in the heart of Des moines.
The price is fair for that type of food. Staff is super kind and helpful.

One employee introduced me to this place, and most of it their wonderful I would say unique home cupcakes. I went with my brother to the same place first time and purchased them. The cupcakes very delicious. I never knew the when somebody stuffing cupcakes with crème inside, tasting rather not the cupcake but the real cupcake mix with original cake, because any place I go for the cupcake, especially store, those cupcakes seems creamy from outside but dry from inside. Youre cupcakes are very delicious ladies. You make me come and purchase your cupcakes again. Moreover I really like something with fry sugar. First I tasted that stuff in downtown, in one of the restaurants. I saw those cakes with fried sugar and blackberries, I thought “that’s wonderful.” It reminded me of the days when my wife and I visited that restaurant. I definitely, definitely, definitely I will advise people to try your cupcakes. Thank you so much, my family liked it very much.

My daughter in law ordered her birthday cake from mollys this year. Red velvet cake with buttercream frosting. It was fabulous! It was moist and the frosting divine. They even did her trademark dahlias!

Molly’s did the tiered cake and sheet cakes for our wedding, and everything was amazing from start to finish! The tasting process was fun and easy, they were more than willing to make the design we wanted even though it wasn’t in their sample book, and everything turned out gorgeous and delicious. Everyone raved about how good the cake at our wedding was, even people who don’t usually like cake. We’ve even been told it was the best cake someone ever had! Cannot recommend enough. We love stopping in for a cupcake from time to time, too!

Molly's Cupcakes made a three tier vegan cake at my wedding and 6 dozen cupcakes. They were all delicious and so pretty. Molly's to be easy to work with, reasonably priced, and professional, perfect for any event.

Delicious cupcakes. We used Molly's for our wedding cake and people raved about it. It was the culinary highlight of our wedding (don't use Great Caterers of Iowa).

Wonderful cupcakes. I especially love the top of the cakes, which are just the perfect amount of chewy. In my experience they are always moist and delicious, but they are very rich, so I don't recommend going for more than one at a time unless you've got a real sweet tooth. I also really enjoy the variety of flavors outside the traditional "chocolate" or "vanilla."
