The Royal Mile

We tried the fried pickles, poutine, bourbon burger with onion rings, and a kids fish and chips. It was so good. We will definitely be back. Service was top notch.

The Royal Mile is an "English Pub" that really wants to be an Irish Pub. They should change the name in go all in for the ☘. I say this as a compliment.

Lots of great whiskey options and they know how to pour a great pint of Guinness and the servers have all been friendly.

We were looking for a place serving food at a very late hour with 3 older teens in tow (after a nearby hockey game). What a gem of a find. Even though they were serving only appetizers at that hour, they had very tasty options, and the service & atmosphere was great. I would love to go back during a more 'normal' hour of the day.

Charming bar restaurant. Loved the location and decorated beautifully.
Wait staff was friendly and prompt.
Food was served hot and was delicious.
Portions huge, and priced well.

Legit English/Irish/Scottish pub with food and drink options to match (they even had Old Speckled Hen on draught).

This place was recommended by a local transplant that grew up in Ireland so I felt it would be good.

The fish and chips were really good.

Even if you don't eat, grab a proper English Ale pint and a packet of crisps while you soak up the vibe.

I had fish and chips, and the lady had shepherds pie, and we split poutine. Great atmosphere; very British and fun. Excellent waiters and staff. The poutine is the best I've ever had. My only gripe was the fires with the fish. The poutine fries were much better! Anyways, wonderful time; highly recommended.

My wife & I had a great experience here. It's definitely an English Pub with that type of food but they also have American Food for the less adventurous. I got Scotch Eggs, Banger Bites, & Shepherd's Pie while my wife got the Turkey Club with steak fries & Mozzarella Sticks. It was all fantastic! Our server was incredibly friendly & very helpful which was appreciated since this was our first time here. They had a great pub atmosphere & also a few TV's scattered around to be able to catch the game. We'll definitely be going back!

Walked in straight away greeted and seated welcomed to the establishment asked if wanted anything special to drink. Given menu ordered food piping hot which I like. Food was fantastic service was fantastic server even sat down with us and chatted for a while. Great atmosphere more of the British style pub that we like.

A good interpretation of an English pub abroad. The food was delicious, I had the Guiness beef stew in a bowl and it was so tasty & great portion size. Couldn't really fault anything, we even had Wimbledon on

Cool combination of a bar and restaurant. We went late after a concert and they only had the Late Night Menu but still was very good. I love the variety of appetizers that you don't always find in a bar. They have a wide selection of beers, whiskey and other drinks.

I brought my 73 year old mother to the Iowa state fair for her birthday (8/13/49). We skimmed the web and found this place. We both thought EVERYTHING was great. Drinks, service, ambiance... Everything. We got drinks, appetizers and dinners. No pictures of drinks, and the poutine was captured after we tore into it. She got the chicken pot pie, me fish and chips, starters, Reuben egg rolls and poutine. Go there, tip good... Unless your service is less than mine. And support small business! Thanks for reading.

Went twice in two days. Fish and chips were proper nice, but that Cornish Pasty was fantastic. And the bread pudding absolutely amazed.

This place is as close to the EU as I have found in the states! Great staff and good food! If your in Des Moines check it out !

This place is fun. They need to stream the soccer games on all TV’s not just one. The fish is super tasty but the chips need help. Ordered the shepherds pie croquettes and they were supposed to contain beef and lamb, however, zero meat. Just breading. The gravy was definitely from a package. Room for improvement on the food but the atmosphere and staff are 💯

Good food great atmosphere. Enjoy brunch on Saturdays after enjoying the Farmers market. Food is very consistent. I tried to get something different each time I visit.

I walked in with a short time availability. I was able to sit at the bar and asked the bartender what if I could get something to be out in 30 minutes. She gave me a couple suggestions and I was able to get in and out quick enough. Fish and Chips were great and the ale I had was too.

Great spot to catch a Premier league soccer game. Friendly staff, great vibe. I spent a week in Ireland last month and this place feels very similar to an Irish pub.

Brunch food was okay. The Benedict was smothered in hollandaise...be sure to ask for it on the side. Kids menu had relatively small serving sizes so be prepared to order a couple extra sides.
