This mosque is maintained with utmost care and attention to detail. It offers a dedicated space for sisters on the third floor, providing a clean and comfortable area for performing ablution (wudu). Additionally, it holds two Jumma prayers during the sacred month of Ramadan.

MashaAllah. Very good masjid in the heart of NYC. Plenty of space for wudhu in the basement and 4 floors of praying area with a special section for the ladies. I come here mainly for Friday prayers but you can do your other prayers here InshaAllah.

I grew up next to this mosque, and I love it here. It is 5 stories high, with a nice wudu area in the basement, a small shop, there is an elevator for those who need it and spacious areas for brothers and sisters to pray. They are very friendly, they provide weekend classes for the kids, packed Jummah prayers, and great meals all throughout Ramadan. May Allah increase them and keep this place open until the end of time!

I am usually highly apprehensive of going to random mosques mainly due to mosque-goers always trying to proselytize their own brand of Islam or finding faults in others' prayers. It is with that skepticism that I went to this mosque, but wow, what a wonderful experience it has been so far! No one bothers you here -- you pray the way you were taught, the way you're comfortable, the way you feel you're connecting with Him (friends reading this may disagree with my approach but I would rather have a few "perceived" inconsistencies in my ritual but have a deep connection with Him when I pray than be so worried about being ritualistically perfect that I forget the real meaning behind prayers -- humility, gratitude, submission, love, inclusiveness, kindness, empathy). The mosque is frequented mostly by people working in Midtown East and brings in a diverse crowd; it's refreshing to see such inclusiveness and diversity in the Muslim community. The mosque is clean, organized and well maintained. The secretary, Mr. Abdul Huq, is a kind, soft-spoken, respectful gentleman, who sometimes leads the prayers. The main imams are originally Egyptian (two brothers) and they have the most beautiful recitation. The Friday khutbahs are about personal repentance, inclusiveness, and leaving behind one's ego and becoming better humans ourselves before criticizing others.

They have jama'a prayers 5 times a day and 2 sessions for Jumu'ah. The mosque opens up for Fajr and then closes until Zuhr time; from Zuhr until Isha, the mosque is open. Men pray on the second floor and women on the third for daily prayers. For Jumu'ah, men pray on the second, third, and fifth floors and women either pray on the fourth floor. The first Friday khutbah starts at around 1:10pm (salat at 1:30) and the second one at around 2pm (salat at 2:20). The mosque is located on 55th St, between 3rd Ave and Lex. They have two entrances (solid aluminum doors), one on either side of the Middle Eastern restaurant Omar's. The entrance closer to 3rd Ave has access to the elevator and stairs to the basement where the washroom and wudu areas are located (there are private washrooms for women), as well as stairs that take you to the upper levels. They have about a dozen wudu stations and the place is absolutely clean and odor-free! The entrance closer to Lex does not have access to the elevator or the basement, just stairs to take you to the upper levels.

Unfortunately, being in midtown Manhattan, there is no free parking; as is all over Manhattan, there is either paid street parking or extremely expensive parking decks. However, it's easily accessible by subway -- it's just a short walk away from the 4, 5, 6 on 59th and Lex or the 6 on 51st and 3rd.

Much love and blessings to the caretakers for doing their part to maintain this mosque in a very expensive part of Manhattan; my request is for my fellow mosque-goers to put a little effort too to make sure the cleanliness and serenity of this House of Worship is maintained -- be a little kind, say please and thank you, make space for people to pass, hold the door for someone, make a single line when entering or exiting, don't push or shove or cut in line, smile; it doesn't take much but goes a long long way. We do all these in other places but for some reason, forget to be courteous when we're at a mosque -- our ego makes us believe that because we have come to the mosque to pray, we must be better than everyone else, but that is exactly what this mosque is trying to change. If someone is coming in and another person is leaving, let the person exit first before entering, hold the door for that person; if you're doing wudu, try to conserve water as much as you can, and don't splash water everywhere, and clean up after you're done, and if the mosque is empty, turn off all the fans, etc. When we refer to each other as brothers and sisters, let this not just be a term but practice the love and affection we have for our own siblings.

Great mosque and very nice people. They always start on time and finish on time. Jumma is not too long where I would be late going back to work. The wudu area is in basement, and the only way to get there is from the back door in the masjid or the left entrance in front.

There is a Turkish resturant K&B between the two doors entrance to the mosque. The right entrance leads to stairs to the 2nd floor where the mosque while the left door leads to a an area with a small shop sells Islamic books and products but if you pass that you will find to the right an area for men and women "separate" to perform Ablution "wodoa" and bathrooms while you will find to the left stairs and elevator can take you upstairs to pray.
They perform all 5 prayers and Jumaa prayer Masha Allah; very nice area. In terms of parking will be a bit challenging if you drive but there are few parking meters around otherwise it's very hard to find parking in weekdays.
