This is a park that is crazy underrated. If you go to the museum office inside the battery there are park rangers that have a wealth of knowledge shot the history of the battery itself. It was a fort (obviously) a concert hall, and an aquarium among other things. The history here is rich and worth exploring, plus you’re a few minutes walk from Wall Street and the Bull statue.

Great park with so many different activities. We initially visited the park to ride the ferry to visit the Statue of Liberty 🗽 and Ellis Island. We purchased our tickets online, which I recommend, we were able to board right away and avoided the ticket line. When returning, we checked out the dog park, seaglass carousel, and playground, which all were spectacular. We had a great time.

Battery Park, situated at the southern tip of Manhattan, is a serene escape amidst the bustling city. Its waterfront location provides scenic views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The park offers a peaceful atmosphere with green lawns, gardens, and historical monuments. The departure point for Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island ferries, it serves as a gateway to iconic landmarks. A perfect spot for leisurely strolls and a reflective pause in the midst of city life.

Beautiful park. Worth seeing. Traveling with friends and the husband is retired military. The memorial was beautiful. Security to get through to the ferry was good as well, they accommodated my friend's mobility scooter with ease. Hot dog vendor was good too!

Amazing views of the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island (albeit at a distance). There were numerous street vendors selling fresh fruits & other foods. A lot of park benches. Given current construction, it took walking a ways to get to an opening in the fences to see the Statue, Island & Brooklyn Bridge. Well worth the trip to catch a quick glimpse!

Must visit. Avoid scammers who try to sell you tickets!
Ferry staff friendly, smooth sailing! Take the stairs to pedestal view, it’s not that bad :-)

Amazing views in this place. Best views in New York. The Battery, formerly known as Battery Park, is a 25-acre (10 ha) public park located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City facing New York Harbor. It is bounded by Battery Place on the north, with Bowling Green to the northeast, State Street on the east, New York Harbor to the south, and the Hudson River to the west. The park contains attractions such as an early 19th-century fort named Castle Clinton; multiple monuments; and the SeaGlass Carousel. The surrounding area, known as South Ferry, contains multiple ferry terminals, including the Staten Island Ferry's Whitehall Terminal; a boat launch to the Statue of Liberty National Monument (which includes Ellis Island and Liberty Island); and a boat launch to Governors Island. q

Battery Park is a fantastic spot for families to visit. It's a great place for an outing with plenty of people and things to do. You can watch dancers perform, and there are artists who can draw your picture while you pose. There are many statues, and you can see the Statue of Liberty across the water, which looks amazing from Battery Park.

The park also has lots of benches, a fountain where kids can play, and, of course, you can see the Statue of Liberty. I heard some nice music when I went there. It's close to restaurants, ferry rides, and museums. The park also has important monuments and statues with lots of interesting history to learn. It's a great place for the whole family to enjoy.

A beautiful little park with nice art and viewing areas in Financial District (FiDi). Also, a way to get away from craziness of downtown. Peaceful. Quietly beautiful at night. And to top it all off…a pretty spectacular view of Lady Liberty on a clear and crisp day. ✌🏽💗🙏🏽

Great park with spectacular views. Caught the ferry to Ellis Island Museum of immigration. This was a fantastic experience and was very informative. The ferry passed the statue of liberty . Great views on a sunny day.

Lovely quiet and historical place in New York, space in a coastal park area for birds & butterflies. Lovely memorial area with nearby fountains, we walked all along the coastal path to Brooklyn bridge, good sidewalks and facilities to use on the route! Clean restrooms.

Great park with lots of history and information about arriving in NYC.

Great helpful guides at the station to give you directions and there is a really well presented walk towards the WTC which is off road and part of the Empire state trail.

Battery Park area is very safe for walking and bicycling. From the point at the end you can see the Statue of Liberty and Governor's Island. Walk along the Hudson River and watch the boats. There are restaurants and cafes. The World Trade Center Memorial is an easy walk from there.

A very nice park to enjoy a walk or seat and have a coffee. For those who visit the city, this is where you meet and take the ferry to Liberty Island, where the Liberty Statue is.

While wandering through New York City, I stumbled upon Battery Park, a gem located at the southern tip of Manhattan. Overlooking the harbor, this park offers not only scenic views of the Statue of Liberty but also a rich tapestry of history and art.

The pathways are lined with various monuments and sculptures, each telling its own story. The East Coast Memorial, commemorating the valor of World War II servicemen, was particularly moving. As a gateway to Ellis Island and Liberty Island, you can feel the weight of history here, thinking of the countless immigrants who once saw the shores of America for the first time.

There's a sense of tranquility as you walk through the meticulously maintained gardens. The gentle sounds of water and glimpses of ferries going to and from the Statue of Liberty add to the allure.

Beyond its historical significance, Battery Park is also a hub for cultural events. From music festivals to outdoor exhibitions, there's a vibrancy that showcases the city's modern spirit.

What truly sets Battery Park apart, however, is its ability to provide a quiet refuge amidst the city's ceaseless energy. Sitting on a bench, watching the sunset over the water, and seeing Lady Liberty in the distance is an experience every visitor should cherish.

In essence, Battery Park embodies New York City's rich past while embracing its dynamic present. An absolute must-visit spot for any traveler to the Big Apple.

Prime spot to watch the sunrise! Start at Battery to say good morning to Lady Liberty then roam the waterfront path to the Brooklyn Bridge. Best sunrise stroll views along the way!
