Pavo Real by the Sea

Everything about Pavo Real is Magical. You need to give yourself some extra time to get to the restaurant since Taxis can’t really go all the way up to the hotel. Then you drive through a jungle to get to this amazing jewel by the beach. The restaurant has about 15 tables. So intimate and romantic is the mood. My wife and I went for our anniversary and were treated to an extra special table almost by the sand. Miguel our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and charming. The food was amazing. Right up there with Michelin stared restaurants we’ve been lucky enough to have dined in. The potato soup was a particular stand out in the first course. The rack of lamb I ordered for the main course was also amazing. A perfect medium rare just like I ordered it. Their wine list is also filled with unusual gems. Great Mexican wines from regions other than Baja along with American and European wines from smaller producers. And to top it all off, the prices were incredibly reasonable considering the quantity of the food and the general ambiance. So if you’re in the area and want a special romantic night out, this is the place for you.

From the moment you arive and see the beautifully designed jungle landscape and gorgeous boutique hotel Kin Sol Soleil, you feel like you have entered a different dimension. Then, the entrance to "Pavo Real by the Sea" simply takes your breath away. Elegantly designed interior and the floor, then the carefully designed lighting arround a beautiful round pool, lounge area and finally white sandy beach with full moon reflecting on the ocean.....
Ughhh, for a moment I thought i was still there, -😂 nope I'm in ugly rainy New Jersey.
Lets go back to paradise...
Excellent French food, very good list of Artesan beers and pretty good wine list makes this place an unforgettable little paradise. If you are like me, and tried everything in the menu, then you can simply ask the Chef a day in advance for whatever you can think of. I thought of , super fresh whole fish for two, and bannggg it was served the next day.
Jan, the manager of both Kin Sol Soleil boutique hotel and Pavo Real by the Sea is a very nice, funny and friendly person. Coming from Belgium he brought a beautiful and elegant European touch to already gorgeous piece of paradise.
Do yourself a favor, go and treat yourself for an evening while in Cancun area, you will want to go back year after year.

Excellent romantic dinner with great food, service and location. The outdoor seating is really cool, but in the case of even a small amount weather (wind, rain or a chill) I'd recommend the tables inside since the walls/doors open wide and all tables effectively have a view.

this restaurant is located in Cancun on the ocean it's great views and great food it's located in a private Resort called Kin Sol Soleil. Great for all three meals of the day!

One of the best dining experience you'll ever have. No joke. I've been lucky enough to enjoy some world class dinners, and this one ranks highly. Amazing location, perfect seafood, and kind and perfectly trained service team.

No other words other than a culinary delight. Situated right on the beach, this beautiful restaurant reeks of elegance. Everything from the food to the presentation was top notch. Aimed at the visiting couple, this is a perfect place to take someone you care about. Your senses will thank you.

We had a wonderful meal here as our final night in the area. You arrive at the hotel gate and a driver takes you to the restaurant. It was incredibly intimate, right on the beach with lots of candles. The staff was so attentive and friendly. We felt SO taken care of. The food was very fresh and provided sweet relief from many of the bland all inclusive places around. The tequila tasting was great too!

While not quite a Michelin star as a previous reviewer stated. The food was very good and beautifully presented with excellent service, perfectly attentive but not over bearing. The wine list did include Mexican wines which were excellent. The location was very secluded and peaceful. Recommended for special occasions.

We visited Pavo Real by the Sea in Mexico for our anniversary in August 2012.

The food was exceptional and the service attentive without being intrusive.

This is a great place to dine if you want to escape the all inclusive resorts for a really special evening.

the restaurant is not large so you wont be treated as a number, but more as a real guest

The chef is incredibly talented and on our visit conjured up world class food for a very reasonable cost.

I can find nothing negative to say about the restaurant, if you're nearby - go there, you'll be amazed!

Absolutely fantastic. We stayed at Kin Sol Soleil (the attached resort) and ate all 3 meals there each day. For breakfast, all of the egg dishes & juices were delicious, and the pastries were baked fresh each day. Lunch was on the lighter side, and we really enjoyed the shrimp tacos. For dinner, oh man, the lamb and seafood risotto are both out of this world. Service was exceptional, especially at dinner, and the wine list was solid and reasonably priced. If you're staying in the area, can't recommend it highly enough. Price wise, you're looking at ~$100 USD for two entrees, a round of drinks, and splitting a desert.

This restaurant is a must visit if you are in the area. We stayed at the Secrets Maroma just down the beach and decided to eat here for dinner one night. The food was by far the best we had during our entire trip. We had a reservation for 4 people, and we were the only 4 people in the entire restaurant for dinner. My guess is that because this is part of a boutique hotel not many people know about it, and those individuals staying in the hotel have food delivered to their rooms. The food was wonderful, and the service was top notch. Our server (Johnny) was more than happy to give us a history lesson on Tequila after dinner. All in all this is a must try restaurant, even if you are staying at one of the all-inclusive resorts nearby, this is worth the additional cost.

This was for our anniversary dinner and words can not describe how beautiful the location was. The food was great and the service was even better. But the prices were not over the top at all ($100 usd for two without alcohol). Jan the manager greeted us right off the hop and our server Emilio made sure of the high quality service through out the night. All you have to do is make sure to come to Hotel Amarte front desk as there are three hotels in the same location.

We were there at the end of February 2020. Four of us went on a whim and we are so glad we went. Beautiful outdoor or indoor seating. We chose outdoor with a view of the ocean and lovely breezes. Great food and excellent service! Would be great for a romantic dinner with your honey too! Thank you!

One has to use all these words to describe the beauty of this Maroma gem. Breathtaking design of the restaurant with breathtaking views - what else could one ask for.
The sound of waves, sounds more like romantic music.
This is the feeling you get when you enter Pavo Real by the Sea.
When you start tasting the food and the extra care you get, it starts getting even better.
Jan, the manager (passionate European food expert) with his ideas and the new menu, has just made this place not only the gem that it always was, but a world class restaurant. I just wish, Michelin food critics will stop here one day.
The design of the served plate, with chef's amazing food and edible flowers, makes you feel very very special.
Excellent service, completes this ordeal that everyone should enjoy while in Maroma.

Great food, great service and an amazing view. They treated us like royalty. My wife and I went there for dinner and will be returning as guests at the hotel in the future. This place is a must go for a nice romantic dinner away from the hustle and bustle of Playa Del Carmen or Cancun.

Wow, this was such an amazing place to eat! The food was *phenomenal*, the view is gorgeous, and Roberto was truly a pleasure as our waiter :) Would definitely recommend and visit again in the future!! If you are not staying at the hotel there, call the hotel and they will send a van out to bring you in, and take you back out afterwards as well.

We stayed at Kin Sol Soleil hotel, attached to the restaurant. The restaurant wait staff and Manager were extremely accommodating and the service was excellent. We ate almost every breakfast and dinner here and always had a great experience. Added bonus, the view of playa Maroma over the small plunge pool from your table makes it an experience to remember.

This is not a cheap meal.. They do it right here. Prepare to be impressed!!!!

outstanding food and service on par with the best restaurants anywhere - gorgeous atmosphere and overall superb from the beginning to end. rack of lamb and duck confit salad were stars!

Amazing lunch! Definitely worth a visit.
