Hayat Zaman Hotel & Resort

I adore this place. I haven’t been in 20 years but I will always proclaim it to the highest. The first time I was here was 1997 with my family. I was stunned. It was the coolest place I’d ever stayed at. I came back in ‘00 and ‘02 as part of the Brown archaeological dig at the “Great Temple” in Petra. Taybet Zaman, as I knew it then, was a real gem. I hope it still is.

A hotel built in a old Bedouin village. Lovely! Great rooms with beans over 100 year old. I loved walking from our room to the reception passing what they were old streets were the different rooms are located. Great service!

This Place Is Simply magic ...Its a real authentic historical venue ...the way that has been turned into a resort preserving its authentic soul ...the good vibes ..all its a magic . For the ones that can feel It .

Brilliant quirky hotel set in an old village, lots of character and a great buffet restaurant. There's also fantastic views of the surrounding valley.

The rooms were large, not particularly luxurious. Service was excellent. Food for breakfast and dinner was excellent.
Muazin dawn prayer call will wake you at 5 am.

The hotel of all hotels!! Completely different from anywhere I've been before. Middle Eastern traditions and charm throughout the entire complex.

I particularly enjoyed the walk to our rooms. It makes you feel as if you were back in Biblical times. Stone walkways and stone walls. Now that I think about it.........stone everything!!

The evening meal was absolutely delicious, and they even made accommodations for me with a rather unusual food allergy.

The entire complex offers something to see. From the decorative landscape to the mountainous views. Recommended for families for sure!! Like I said, it's an experience like non other!!

Heads up - when I went there in 2019, there was a very pleasant native gentleman there offering a very small cup of coffee upon entrance to the main office. PLEASE TAKE IT (even if you don't drink coffee, like me). In this native culture, it is disrespectful to turn down a welcoming gesture.

Amazing service, great rooms, hot water and delicious dinner and breakfast.

All accompanied by breath taking views.

The meals are served buffet style and do not include drinks. If you order alcohol you must pay cash at the table (can't charge it to your room like you can with other drinks like coffee or soda)

There's a Hamam (sauna) that comes with a stone scrub and a 15 min massage for 35 Jordanian dinnars. We didn't do it because we didn't have bathing suites and didn't feel comfortable being scrubbed by men.. But it does sound lovely.

All in all, highly recommended.

Beautiful room, gorgeous surroundings. Lovely breakfast and dinner buffet with lots of choice. Excellent service, lovely entertainment in evening with musicians. Had best massage in Hamman, slept ten hours after. Loved every minute of stay.

This place is one of a kind. The room we're in is like an old cave with modern amenities. We felt like we traveled back in time. Very clean hotel with professional staff. Just a few minutes drive to Petra the shrine.

It is not only the most beautiful hotel in the Petra area, it is also one of the most special hotels in Jordan. The ancient village has been renovated and turned into a charming complex with small streets and alleys, the service is excellent and welcoming, the food is delicious and plentiful. We have visited this hotel several times and we return to it every time

The hotel seems like a remodelled village. The rooms are quite cool as they are made from stones of the region, plus they can get even cooler with the aircon. The views from this hotel are amazing, specially at dusk and dawn. The pool is quite petit, but refreshing after a day of hiking.

Very nice hotel 15 km from Petra. Facilities and food are great. If you are not worried by having a 15 minutes ride (30 dinars) ride to get to Petra site, this is a great place to stay.

Most unique resort, old but we'll maintained, basically it's an old village converted to a hotel in Petra, about 10km from the archeology site. Really quiet, suitable for older guest's. Loved our stay.

An entire old village transformed into a luxury hotel. The traditional houses that line the winding alleys have been converted into comfy rooms, each unique in shape and size and with lots of character. The place is superbly relaxing and quiet, it has a fine restaurant, a pool and even a lovely hammam and the staff are wonderful. We had only booked one night but ended up staying a whole week because we fell so much in love with the place!

Very cooperative staff, friendly, kind and welcoming.
We enjoyed our two nights there, will come back again.
A lot of foreigners come to stay there while visiting Petra a 20 minute drive by car, very convenient to stay for a night or two.
Two shops where one can find a good variety of souvenirs worth buying some.

A little away from Petra but we'll worth it (not far at all). Fabulous setting with great mountain views. Swimming pool and amenities excellent. Rooms very comfortable with character too. Service and breakfast super too. Very polite, helpful staff.

A lovely hotel has character, charm and authentic for its location.
More of a village feel....Spacious room and great food very relaxing after a day in Petra.👍
