My Mom’s Recipe Restaurant is amazing. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable & attentive beyond measure. Ahmed was unbelievably helpful and fun to interact with. Ask for him. You won’t regret it!

The food is some of the best, if not THE best, that I’ve experienced in Jordon.

The view from the restaurant is great and they are less than a block from the entrance to the Petra archaeological site.

All in all, if you travel to Petra, treat yourself to My Mom’s Recipe Restaurant!

We liked it so much that we came 3 times! Lentil soup is delicious 😍 and all the rest was so so good! Very nice place to come! After Petra 👣 its just perfect!

Came here for lunch. It was delicious. Ordered the mixed grill (12JD), the serving is generous, so we shared it between 2 and was full. Meat was full of flavour. Chips were fresh and crunchy!

I was looking for a restaurant that offered great quality grilled chicken kebabs and also amazing hummus. This restaurant cooked my chicken perfectly and the hummus was the best I had in Jordan. Oh my god that bread was amazing! Along with the food the service was professional and everyone was very attentive.

Pro tip: If you like spicy food ask for the fresh chili sauce. 😉

We found this restaurant by accident and what a pleasant surprise! It is located on the top floor of a shop and the way upstairs is decorated already with bedouin style rugs ornaments etc setting the atmosphere. The food is delicious and they offered so many in house treats like the appetizer with bread olive oil and z atar seasoning which I love! Our main course was delicious too and they gave a bunch of baklava and tea on the house. So glad we came here for lunch. We did not search where the eat but only found it on the way it is near to Petra entrance. We were served by Mo’men and he is nice and kind. Highly recommended when in Petra its a must dining experience

My favourite place to eat in Petra. Went all 3 days we were there and the food and service were fantastic. Great atmosphere/decor as well.

The maqluba (upside-down) chicken cooked with scented rice is amazingly good, better than the one I tried in Amman. Mansaf Lamb here is also recommended.

The atmosphere here is tastefully decorated with Arabic Jordanian style. We liked it.

Momen the server has a very pleasant and welcoming attitude, very helpful as well in introducing the local food to us.

This place has an incredible cool vibe, very well decorated. The service is super nice and friendly. The food is delicious! Our favourite dish was the lamb. Everything very well cooked, incredible flavours and big portions.

Great atmosphere, incredibly fast service and tasty food. All of the wait staff was polite and quick to resolve any requests or concerns.

We read mixed reviews but are very glad we walked in for the breeze and elevated patio. Mohammed Alla and his colleagues were great! Get the Tahina Salad and Hummus for starters!!

We had lunch here at the rooftop, amazing view of the entrance of Petra. Food was excellent and portion was generous! We ordered Barbeque Chicken and we loved it.

The appetiser were amazing (hummus and fattoush) and also nice main dishes (mixed grill and lamb with rice).

We have eaten in the rooftop with a great local style forniture and wonderful service (I would like to mention Mohammed Alaa).

Walking down a bustling street filled with eateries, “My Mom’s Recipe Restaurant” caught my eye amidst a sea of bustling venues. I entered with a mix of skepticism and curiosity, wondering if the place was a mere tourist magnet or a hidden culinary gem.

From the moment I stepped in, Rashed’s warm greeting set a welcoming tone. Deciding to playfully challenge the staff, I asked Ammar for the best seat in the house. To my delight, he indulged me with a spacious corner table, typically reserved for families, even though I was dining solo.

Already off to a splendid start, my anticipation for their lamb chops reached its peak. And oh, did they deliver! Perfectly seasoned and cooked to precision, the lamb chops were a testament to the restaurant’s culinary prowess.

Despite Petra’s warmth, the open-air ambiance of the restaurant offered a refreshing breeze, enhancing the dining experience. The view of Petra’s entry gate, coupled with a pristine setting, only added to the charm.

But what truly sets “My Mom’s Recipe Restaurant” apart is its staff. Both Ammar and Rashed, along with the entire team, elevate the dining experience to an exceptional level.

We tried 4 different main courses and 3 appetizers and all were excellent. Be sure to have the lemon mint drink!

The roof top dining area is decorated beautifully and our hostess was so friendly.

Be aware that there is no alcohol, but seriously, just go somewhere else for a drink after dinner here.

So nice people. Place in Arabic style. So clean, they even clean the table and windows during my dinner, what is not popular in other places in Jordan. Food traditional and tasty.

Beautiful restaurant! Food was delicious and came with bread, olive oil and dukka for starters and sweets and tea for dessert. Staff are friendly and the rooftop is nicely decorated. Feels very authentic. I would 100% recommend
