Esperanza Petra

Expectation for a one-star hotel was greatly exceeded! Nice and clean rooms, very pleasant breakfast area, excellent service and very good advice for our Petra visit from the staff. Walking distance from Petra visitor centre. Highly recommended!

Loved the Location, 5-7 mins walk from Petra visitor center even though there's a slope on the way back. The staff were very good & helpful providing us (the only guests in the hotel during that time) with a wonderful breakfast as well. The Room size was great with a balcony as well. I would rate this a much more value for money stay rather than the brilliantly places Movenpick hotel nearby.

Not holding it against them but wish they could have bidet jet spray in their washroom. And due to the lack of any guests in the hotel, the hotel reception used to be un-manned. But they were responsive over whatsapps, which was great.

Excellent location (you just have a short walk up the hill from the visitor center) and very friendly & helpful staff. The restaurant on the top floor has some lovely views at sunrise and sunset. Breakfast had a nice variety. The room and all facilities were clean and comfortable.

We loved this hotel, I don't think you can find much better at least at this price range!
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, giving us suggestions and remarks on our Petra itinerary. They also suggested a nice restaurant Beit Al-Barakah that gave us little freebies as we came from this hotel.
The room is comfy and very clean (ours had no views though but some do); the location is on spot, easy to arrive to the visitors center and Petra museum with a pretty view on the way; the terrasse from the breakfast area is really cosy and has no vis a vis so you see the desert and hot balloon in front...
You can park your car just in front of the hotel, too.

Breakfast was fine, without been amazing though. The hot buffet items were the least interesting I'd say. We could however always pick and choose some good things, like OK hummus or mouttabal. Maybe some more fruit?

Great place to stay in Petra. The staff is really helpful, the hotel location is great as is near the visitors centre but still has parking place if you go by car.

There is a great restaurant in the roof which offers both dinner and breakfast buffet which are great

Really can't say enough about the info we received about touring Petra, saved us a lot of time and money. Great host!

The stay was very comfortable and convenient. It’s just an easy 5 min walk from the visitor Center and has a super market right under its roof. The terrace (which is also where the breakfast is served) is such a beautiful place where you can enjoy a peaceful and picturesque sunset too. The moment you check in, the owner, Mr Raeed sits you down peacefully and gives a complete briefing about Petra, with all the do’s and dont’s which makes your entire experience of Petra so convenient, comfortable and memorable. (Wish I took his hint on Petra by Night as well). Then his inputs on where to eat and on anything that you may ask are absolutely authentic. The whole staff is helpful. The rooms are large enough. The linen and rooms (bathrooms too) are absolutely clean and fresh. The breakfast is served at 0530 h onwards!!! That helps you be at visitor Center by 0600 am when the gates open and you can beat the crowd and the heat. Trust me, this is big big plus. I walked a lot and didn’t waste any energy in anything (you’ll need a lot of it to explore Petra). I am going with the best memories of Petra, thanks to my stay in this place.

We were travelling with four and stayed in Esperanza hotel for 2 nights. It was absolutely a great stay. I would strongly recommend everybody stay in this hotel. Very clean rooms, hotels smells nice from the moment you enter it. Hotel is situated 2min walk from the entrance to Petra. This makes it easy to make your visit to Petra. Hotel has a roof terrace with mesmerizing view on the mountains. You can enjoy it while eating breakfast or having dinner after long walk in Petra. The sunset on the rooftop is an absolute “must” when you stay here. Last but not least, Read the owner of the hotel gave us a lot of handy tips on how to visit Petra. Equipped with all the do’s and don’ts we avoided many tourists mistakes and saw more than we would normally do. If you search for hotel in Petra Esperanza is the place to stay!

We stayed here for a night and the stay was great. The host or the manager is a very nice guy. He explained us on how to cover Petra and also helped with another Dead Sea hotel booking. The rooms are very clean for the affordable price. Best is it’s just a few meters up from where the Petra park entrance is so we were able to get there at 7.30 am and take great pics without many tourists.
Breakfast was complimentary and had a bunch of options. They have a live omelette and pancake station.

We loved staying here! The rooms were nice and clean, the location was perfect, and the staff was the absolute best!!!

Parking was convenient and when we arrived the manager/owner went through the Petra map with us and talked through what trails to take and what to except which really helped us plan our days. The breakfast buffet was great to get us moving in the morning and the dinner buffet was perfect after a long day of sun and hiking.

I would recommend staying here to anyone visiting Petra!

A wonderful stay! We stayed in this hotel as part of our honeymoon trip and found it be comfortable, clean and spacious. The owners were very welcoming as soon as we arrived and made sure we had all the information we needed for Petra with lots of local advice. It is approx 8 minute walk to the Petra entry gates. The walk is very safe and relaxing along the way. We also ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel and it was a lovely blend of traditional food that was all delicious. The bed was very comfortable and it was a quiet relaxing stay. There is an amazing balcony in the dinning area that gives a lovely view of the town and surrounding nature. Excellent location very close to the visitor centre. Clean Accomodation and very good breakfast and dinner served in the hotel. The owner, Raed was super helpful gave us tips on hiking in Petra and the best way to plan it. We had to switch rooms in between our hikes and had no problem was also willing to extend our check out if it took us longer to get back from the hike. On top of that he looked after us ensuring we had a good transport to the Dead Sea as we did not feel comfortable on the first taxi that came to pick us up. Thank you Raed and the whole Esperanza team. Wish you all the best

Don’t know how this hotel still has 1 star. Amazing big rooms, everything is clean, comfortable big beds, towels are changed daily. Super friendly, flexible and helpful staff. Staying here 3 nights :)

Esperanza Hotel is just the perfect hotel in Petra.
The rooms were very clean and spacious. The breakfast and dinner were amazing and tasted like home. The shower was very good. The wifi connection is great and it works everywhere.
The sunset from the rooftop is amazing.

What an amazing stay. This hotel has beautiful interior with a gorgeous rooftop view of the canyons. WiFi is fantastic! And everyone was so nice and accommodating. I got all the local tips before going into Petra which was a huge saver. Also it’s about a 10 minute walk to the entrance. Huge plus is that the food at the rooftop restaurant is so delicious! Highly recommend and would stay here again.

Very nice hotel and only 6 mins walk away from the Petra visitor centre. Plus it has a great view and the staff was amazing! Loved my time here, I'll definitely be back to do some more exploring.

They actually offer a dinner buffet daily for 10 dinar per person. I was a little skeptical going in that it would be good but the dinner was awesome. They had a huge variety of food, all cooked that day. Very juicy beef and chicken options, and an entire dessert spread. All in all, I doubt you’ll find a better deal for the area, and I definitely recommend going for the dinner buffet, 100% worth it.

A fantastic surprise.
To start We had a very warm welcome and an excellent briefing of how to visit Petra and what to do and to expect.
The presentation had suggestions of easy, medium and more challenging trekking.
Rooms were very clean and confortble.
Brekfast and dinner buffet were very tasty and well presented.
Will highly recommend anyone travelling here.
Walking distance to the main entry of Petra was a bonus.
