Lots of history. Fantastic food. Line up to get in is worth it. A must try. If you want the typical English dishes done right this is the go to.
The scotch egg was a first for me and it was fantastic!

We loved the Red Lion! They were right in the middle of the action, yet didn’t have an overly touristy feel. They managed to feel local and hospitality of the bar staff was exceptional. We went twice during our stay in different nights and it was a great experience each time.

ESB and fish and chips with mushy peas! Smashing! Lovely hustle and bustle atmosphere. Strongly recommend reservations at this fine establishment as it was very busy when we arrived with our reservation and we were seated promptly.

Very good food, especially the fish and chips and the beef pies, and friendly staff. Reservations are highly recommended as this place being right next to Parliament and Big Ben this place gets very busy.

Popped in for a drink and the staff were so helpful ended up booking to go back later for late lunch.
The food was lovely I had steak and ale pie and mash but it all got a big thumbs up. Dining room perfect.
It is easy pickings to charge over the odds and serve sub standard food when there are lots of tourists around but this place definitely doesn't do that. They offer a great service atmosphere and food and were hugely supportive of the member of our party with mobility and health issues.
I would like to make special mention of the Portuguese member of staff who was so helpful . A real 5 star place thank you

Classic English food with a dining room that overlooks a bustling street. Interior is super cozy. I ate the Fish & Chips. If you've never had English food, expect it to be much milder than the normal fare (if you're Indian like me). Fish was battered nicely, chips tasted like chips and the sauce was nice. Service was amazing and our waiter was pleasant. We arrived early, so there was time to chitchat. Come here once for the experience while you're in london.

Fantastic late lunch! We had a big day of bus tours, boat rides and the London eye and our kids had gotten hangry. They were rocking busy and about ready to transfer dinner service, but saw our situation and found us a spot. We were grateful and treated to some amazing food. The two adults had the pie platter for two, which was more than plentiful. Our son got the burger and fries and our daughter shared off our plates. We had a few beers and all left ready for an evening of musicals! Amazing old building and ambiance. Highly recommend…but make a reservation and show up on time. It turns out we got a table because another group was 8 minutes late.

Our first experience with British cuisine. Having spent the morning at the Churchill War Museum we looked for a quick, nearby, bite for lunch and lucked into this delightful pub. Service was super friendly and the food eclectic and delicious. Among our party we sampled the haggis & scotch egg, leek pie, and fish and chips. All were delicious. As a bonus, we were served a side of spinach with dressing that was simply scrumptious. We're only in London for a week, but I'm sure we'll be back to this lovely establishment.

Classic quintessential pub. Wonderfully located near serious attractions. Food was superb. Not cheap but superb.

Walking distance from Victoria. Close to Parliament and Palace and more. Comfy relaxed friendly. Bigger fuller restaurant upstairs but wee pub is gorgeous.

Really enjoyed the steak and ale pie, along with the cheese and onion straws. The staff were friendly also.

Very nice place, the waiters are kind and helpful. There is even a kid’s menu. Pies are wonderful, we’ll go back there in future.

Pies baby! Damn good pies!

Yes I’m reviewing this as an American who went to this delightful restaurant on his Holliday. Our tour guide pointed it out mentioning how “Red Lion” was a common name and my wife and I decided to try it. He should started with “If you want some delicious meat pies that give you a taste of British cuisine, go there!”

Also dope toffee pudding… get it.

An old bar with lots of history and you can feel it with the pictures in the atmosphere around you. The pie was small but quite enough for a small snack for two and the drink Was delightful and not expensive compared to the pubs in the area.

Fabulous service and good food. Hubby had fish and chips and the fish took up his whole plate. I had smoked salmon, much like lox. Very good. The stairs are very narrow, so beware of imbibing too much!

Walked by here strolling through westminster, could see the atmosphere from outside and wasn’t disappointed! Warm and welcoming, friendly servers, didn’t grab any food but it looked good from other peoples plates. Grabbed a cider, Cornish orchards was worth the money! Crisp and delicious. Would definitely run in here again. A great spot to bring a crowd, very lively.

We loved this Historical Pub, where Sir Winston Churchill, among many other notables, quaffed a pint or two. And the mini steak pie was so good we brought 9 others back later in the week with us to try it out. Must stop by and raise a toast.

A great dinner experience from food, to atmosphere to service. We didn’t have a booking but the host provided us a timeframe on the understanding that there was a booking for the table at an allotted time.
Despite the time constraint we didn’t feel rushed and the service by the host was excellent. Warm, conversational and really ensured we had a great experience.
We had pies and sausage meals, both were great pub food with lots of flavour and amble serving. Beer selections were excellent and loved the story behind the beer shared by the host.
Highly recommend for a quality pub experience in London.

I went here for lunch yesterday with two friends as it was near the Churchill War Rooms that we were visiting. I am glad that we booked. You could have got served ok without booking downstairs but it was a bit chaotic. If you book you get a table upstairs and it's much quieter. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The menu is varied and can be seen on their website. A little pricey but very good food. I had the fish finger sandwich and really loved it. My friends had the steak and ale pie and the whitebait fish. Wasn't expecting the 12.5% service charge but it was ok. I really really enjoyed going here for lunch. Would definitely go back and would book again then. Highly recommended!
