Great place. We were 2 adults & a 4.5 age child. Walked the lovely grounds & gardens first, with maze dinosaur Park, brass rubbing, sculptures etc. Had our picnic at one of the tables outside and then moved to the Adventure Playground. Great area with huge slides. Would thoroughly recommend this place. Also had good parking areas. Wasn't busy at all on the day we went in July.

£18.50 to get in and worth every penny. What an amazing place! Perfect for history lovers as a guided tour included in price where you can learn so much. No flash photography allowed. The gardens are extensive and the kids will love it. Something fun around every corner. Sculptures, dinosaur trail, a fort and a playground. Reasonably priced cafe on site and toilets throughout. There is a tower to climb, a maze and a small museum. Staff were friendly and extremely knowledgeable and were happy to chat and answer questions. I really cannot recommend this place enough. 5 plus stars!

Stunning gothic mansion, well worth visiting. House itself is beautiful and Gary the guide was fantastic. Garden is amazing and dinosaur trail for kids was superb. We took picnic with us. Cheaper if you book in advance. I would definitely recommend, lovely family day out.

Visited with grandchildren. Very impressed at the amount of activities in the Fort area. All looked extremely well maintained and safe. There was something for all ages. The slides were great fun for all. A visit to the maze and then the dinosaur trail completed a fun packed day. Lots of covered areas to picnic and the toilets were very clean. Would love to return to see more of the gardens and visit the house. Just feel a return visit for myself to visit the house and gardens at a cost of £18 is quite expensive as the play park would unfortunately not be on my agenda! Would definitely recommend for a family day out.

Absolutely wonderful day out!

I took my 2 year old here for a fun afternoon and the grounds, house and gardens here are absolutely stunning.

The volunteers were super caring and helpful along with the parking being super easy and convenient. There’s a dinosaur walk for kids (and adults alike!) which is actually seriously awesome, we both loved it!

Would come back time and again!

Excellent experience! Really pleased we visited on the day of the motor show. Gardens are beautiful and the space available was tremendous. Great place to visit for family day out.

What a fabulous place to visit, so much History and with the family still living there made it feel more comfortable and welcoming. We decided to take a guided house tour, our guide called Roy was absolutely brilliant he had so much knowledge and presented all the information in a fun and entertaining manner. Listening to someone who had so much passion for the place made it so much more interesting, than walking around and looking at things on your own, I'm sure we learnt so much more. Would definitely recommend.
The grounds were also very good and there were a lot of things for children to do (although we didn't have children with us) adventure playground, dinosaur walk.

Not a huge number of rooms to visit (about 12 in total) but definitely an example of quality over quantity! Strongly advise you take the guided tour option (each one lasting about an hour & several tours per day) as there is so much history attached to this lovely building. The tour guide was very knowledgeable & friendly. Never realised that so much to learn about this place & it's famous owners going all the way back to the 1400's. Not to mention all the amazing rock concerts that have been held on the grounds over the last few decades. Also, never knew just how many famous movies/TV shows have been filmed here over the years (Inc. The King's Speech, Downton Abbey, Victoria & Abdul to name just a few). The grounds & gardens are beautifully maintained, so try to pick good weather for a lovely day out! Highly recommended & reasonably priced (book in advance online for entry reductions).

I took my family to the Medieval Jousting on Father's Day (yesterday). What a great day it was, they all thoroughly enjoyed the show and there was plenty to do if you pay for the whole experience of Knebworth. The house itself is amazing and full of so much history and the garden walk was a wonderful site. They also had an Archery club stationed nearby where for just £2 you could enjoy a quick game, the club were tremendous people who were very friendly. The Jousting was spectacular and very entertaining, they really got involved with the crowd too. I would recommend this to anyone who has not been before as it really was a grand day out and easily the best father's day I've ever had.

We absolutely loved our visit to Knebworth House! The house is a stunning example of gothic architecture and is stuffed with so much history and interesting stories. The grounds are well maintained and great to walk round and perhaps take a picnic too. There is also an adventure playground and dinosaur trail for kids. The cafe is clean and has a variety of food offerings, although their vegetarian/vegan range seemed slightly limited. The toilets are clean and there are baby changing facilities as well. Plenty of parking although the signage leading to the parking could be better but these were only slight niggles. All in all, an amazing place to visit and we can't wait to return!

Well we didn't go into the house we only went to the grounds and park due to an event the medieval jousting for fathers day. All I can say is wow what a place grounds are amazing can see deer when you go on one of the walks the house looks beautiful. Got a wonderful dinosaur trail there plus a maze and even a herb garden just wow.

Great time for the entire family! The gardens and house were my favorite while my children had a blast running around the dinosaur trail and adventure park. We easily spent 5 hours and could have spent more. They followed Covid protocols encouraged social distancing. Staff and guides were super friendly and informative. Plenty of places to picnic and have lunch we ate from their kitchen and we all enjoyed the food. They had a cute gift shop very much geared towards the kids which was also nice. Highly recommend a visit!

Great place. You can spend the whole day here and you will not be bored. Adults will be pleased to visit the beautifully maintained palace, children running around the park in search of dinosaurs. An additional attraction is a great children's playground

Knebworth House and gardens are really interesting with lots to see.
Access to the house is by guided tour - The house tour was great (kudos to Kevin!) with lots of history on the house, the family, artefacts on display and the estate in general. I wouldn't recommend taking younger kids (under 5) though.
The gardens are really interesting with a maze and dinosaur models in the trees.
The park is great with a huge fort and a range of big slides built into the hillside. It is a long walk from the house to the park/slides/fort, I would recommend driving.

This was our 2nd visit, and again it didn't disappoint! My only regret is that we've never visited before! The house is Gothic marvel and a treasure trove of artefacts and curios, with fascinating stories about famous people. Dickens, A A Milne and MJ Barry were family friends, and many of the family members were real characters. Edward Bulwer-Lytton was a prolific writer who deserves much more recognition than he gets in modern times. The guides do an amazing job remembering all of these details and the tours reveal one fascinating thing after another. Aside from being a famous music venue, Knebworth has also been used as a film location for countless tv shows and films, including The Crown, Victoria & Abdul The King's Speech, and Batman (Michael Keaton), there's a separate exhibition that highlights this (as well as the musical side and the house's links to India). And we haven't mentioned the grounds! There's a dinosaur park (ok, it's not Jurassic Park, but it's a great effort and a bit of fun), a maze and some stunning flowers to see in a range of distinct areas. There's a large children's play area that looks like a fort, set about half a mile from the main house. There's also a shop, a cafe, toilets and a conference venue. All in all, a gem of a place, and we'll be back again sometime soon.

Absolutely amazing, a touch of luxury and opulence. The classic car show added such great experience to our visit.
What a gem of a place, well worth a visit. The gardens and Jurassic park a must for all visitors!
