The South East Cakery - Cake Shop

Did a brilliant job on our wedding cake! They were brilliant at helping us chose a flavour and the right size for the number of guests, and the finished product was gorgeous - using fresh flowers from our florist. The lead time was really reasonable, as were the prices.

SE Cakery made our wedding cake back in October and it was amazing! We had a brief that was a little different and wanted something a bit fun that tasted amazing and they certainly delivered. The delivery was also super smooth and easy and they were super friendly to work with and very efficient with getting back to us as well, and accommodated our changes as we had new ideas. We also got some gluten free brownie bites which went down a treat.

Literally.... the best cake we've ever had. Three layers of Red Velvet, the icing tastes like Plombières (idk how that's possible but I'm obsessed with it). Shared it with our friends (it was a birthday cake) and they were also blown away. 10/5!

Maria & The SE Cakery team were an absolute pleasure to deal with and working to a very random 'Star Wars chic' brief made the perfect cake for a surprise party. The Birthday girl loved the cake and everyone commented on how incredible it tasted. I cannot recommend them enough!!

Maria was lovely to deal with and ensured that our wedding cake was delivered to our venue within an agreed time. Loved the red velvet cake, it was delicious and the semi naked icing was perfect! Thank you so much Maria! Will definitely be ordering again for our next special occasion!

I stumbled upon this place over Instagram during lockdown and I think it’s my best discovery. All the treats taste just as good as what your mum made you when you were little (sorry Mum. Your PB cookies are still the best) The team will even rise to creative challenges for unique celebrations. You need to visit this place ASAP.

Great spot for cake and coffee. Staff were friendly and conisseurs of cake, coffee and mid 90s RnB which I appreciate 😁. Brilliant selection of food on menu and cakes which taste as good as they look.

Definitely worth a visit

Very good sandwiches, very good deserts, nice music, all good things about this place. If you come you need to try the French toast. It's one of the best I've eaten.

Maria and her team did an absolutely amazing job creating our wedding cake. It was simply stunning and everyone couldn’t get enough of it. It was delicious and the carrot cake in particular was to die for! We can’t thank them enough and will definitely be dropping into the cafe to sample some of their other treats.

I ordered a customised (chose the colours) birthday cake from SE Cakery and they were really helpful with my questions and I was even able to pick it up on the day of the birthday a Sunday as it was a surprise cake. The only thing was the cake box couldn't have a lid due to the design of the cake but that is a minor inconvenience but be aware if you need to travel a bit with the cake. The cake got lots of compliments and tasted great too! Would recommend!

I got a beautifully finished, plain buttercream cake as I had special decorations I wanted to add myself. The 8" cake was more than big enough for 20 people, tasted fantastic and was ready with only 1 week's notice! Fabulous service and I will definitely be coming back.

These guys are absolutely incredible – I've ordered two different cakes from them now, and they've both been amazing. I asked them to turn a cake around in 24 hours and they did it no problem and were super nice about it. Great coffee too.

The best brownies we've ever had! So good that after trying them whilst in London we decided to order some online for my daughter's birthday..

They travelled all the way to the North in perfect condition!

Lovely little spot and very joyful owner is always a treat! Look no further for your cake orders. They got us a same day red velvet for a birthday just before xmas and delivered to our door!! Totally yummy and half the price of any other places round here.

Every time I come here I feel welcomed, the food is really good, the owners are both really nice genuine people & the coffee is well made. All of the little touches like the kids colouring sheets and crayons, the beautiful decorations for special days (Hallowen and Christmas) & the beautiful counter that makes you want to buy everything, all add up to a wonderful customer experience. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you!!

Recently bought my wedding cake from here. It looked great and tasted delicious! We had lots of compliments from our guests and would highly recommend. They were also very friendly and helpful to deal with.

Great cafe with fantastic and interesting sweet treats and good coffee. They make a real effort for seasonal surprises!
The atmosphere is great here too with lovely, friendly staff, led by the truly hospitable owners. A real community cafe that slots in nicely on North Cross Road.

The team at South East Cakery created a beautiful and exquisite 3-tiered cake for my Wedding. It was absolutely delicious - all the guests were raving about it! Would definitely come to the cakery again if I ever needed without any hesitation.
