Nice pub food, more seafood dishes than other pubs. Had the scallop starter and fish pie. Both were great, would prefer the scallops without the roes but that’s my personal preference

I had the surf and turf and have to say both steak and lobster were delicious. Cooked to perfection. The chips were lovely too. Others had sausages and mash, smoked salmon sandwich and the ribs. There were empty plates and reduced chatter as we all enjoyed our food.
It’s a ye olde world pub which has bundles of character.
There’s parking there too which is handy.

A lovely 3 course meal for £48 each, including wine and a tip. I had the artisan fish pie served with a medley of green vegetables, which was delicious. The house rosé was a very nice dry blush which complimented the fish pie perfectly. Would highly recommend The Running Mare at Cobham. Plenty of parking.

What a great atmosphere this pub has, seems very popular with the locals. We very happy with the food and beer. Had a Sunday mixed roast which was perfect, crispy and tasty and topped with a large Yorkshire pudding. Definitely going to go back again

Had the most delicious roast chicken, partner had a trio of meat roast. They were both very tasty, lovely roast potatoes and the added bonus of cauliflower cheese at no extra cost. The best roast dinner around and the gravy was very tasty. Lovely choice of desserts which were equally delicious. Well done and will definately be back!!!

Love this old school pub which has great food, a really homely feel about it and the beer is always top notch! Bo wonder we make the effort to be here for our Xmas party.. 3rd time now...

A really good local. Good range of ales and a well appointed courtyard for fine weather.

What a lively little place. Great beer garden out the back, but the front and inside looks like your typical "ye olde" cottage boozer, exposed timber and different ales etc.
And a big I must say was...
The bar staff were absolutely amazing, such a busy night, the lads worked like tojans, and are a real credit to the owner (can't remember if one was called Matt) all did not stop for a breather and kept the place flowing. Hats off to them.

Didn't have food just beverages! But gave food a 5* as not to drop the establishments rating. And if the food is like the atmosphere and staff then it should be good!

This is an absolutely first rate pub with excellent food, friendly service and a fine atmosphere. It can get rather busy, so plan accordingly. There's parking in the back.

There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and you can easily find the sort of space that suits you and your party. There are plenty of fine choices on the menu, and the food is delicious.

Perfect Sunday roast spot, selection to suit everyone inc vegetarians and a trio! Be sure to book in advance as it’s very popular.

Without doubt the best pub I know of in Surrey. If you are looking for a pub that still has got the pub atmosphere and great food then this pub is definitely the one. The Sunday roasts are amazing and not to be missed.

10/10 absolutely the best Sunday Roast I've ever eaten. A pretty little pub opposite the village green. The staff were so lovely as well, very accommodating as we hadn't booked but squeezed us in. Will definitely go again if we're ever in the area.

First time I've been to the Running Mare, found it looked good from the outside and inside. Parking was easy and had a relaxing atmosphere with good food and the staff were helpful and pleasant.

This was my favorite pub. We spent a great deal of time and money there. Good friends made, both staff and locals. Unfortunately, the manager, has no class and a bad attitude. The Runner is on suspension, for me, for 60 days. If it ever happens again, I won’t spend another £ there.

Reply - I am not about to Dox anybody. We love the food, atmosphere and friendships. The absolute majority of your staff is excellent. A little bit of tact goes a long way though, as opposed to a “Shoosh”. You should indeed have a conversation with managers about how they deal with people, especially some that drop 500 quid a month. Went for family Sunday lunch, what a brilliant choice, the quality of the food was excellent,. Good size portions with great selection of well cooked and presented vegetables. And the humongous crispy Yorkshire puddings alone are a good reason to visit. Fantastic friendly professional service. Will definitely be visiting again
