Kempsey Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant

Stayed in the attached motel and had dinner here, food was fantastic, great old fashioned Chinese take away with all the classic dishes - and the serving sizes... wow... we did the basic banquet for 4 and took away 6 containers of left overs! Great value!

We had driven from Melbourne and arrived just before closing time, it wasn’t a problem at all and they served us 4 beautiful dishes… thanks guys… really appreciated your service to 4 hungry travelers… highly recommend

Ordered the "Banquet A" for 4 people. They served us 8 mini spring rolls, a large fried rice and 4 main meals. I had to order an extra serve of boiled rice.

I didn't think much of it at first, what with Kempsey being a small town and the restaurant being located above a Motel reception.

Well, let me tell you, I was very pleasantly surprised! Serving sizes were generous and the food was on par with some of the better Chinese restaurants I've been to in Canberra and Sydney.

Thanks for the great dinner and the motel was pretty good too.

Have tried most Chinese Restaurants in Kempsey this by far is the best we won't go anywhere else from now on

We ate there six weeks ago on our way to Queensland and made a point of staying at Kempsey this trip just to eat their food again. Generous potions, very tasty and we waited only twenty minutes despite them being busy.

Delicious, authentic and a traditional country town Chinese of old.

Great food! Service slow and didn't bring a drink when asked but once we finally got our food it made up for it. Had take away since then and it was just as good. Great value and love that it opens at 4.30 for dinner.

Oh my God drove up from Sydney moving mates unties stuff to TweedHeads. BEST Chinese food ever, it was GREAT. Definitely recommend yes yes yes yum yum yum. Go you good thing. TOP eat must try.

Great little Chinese Restaurant on the premises of the City Centre Motel, Kempsey. Close to the CBD and very handy for motel guests. The restaurant opens very early, which would suit families with young kids, and opens some lunchtimes. The restaurant is clean and the food is colourful, fresh and very tasty; the chef makes all his own sauces. Caters for takeaway with allocated parking on the Motel's premises for customer pickup. The staff are pleasant and the food served reasonably quickly. Unfortunately the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible.

This place is the best Chinese place in the area, the food is fresh, loaded with meat not filled with onions and veg and the sauces are top notch.

The staff are friendly, the dining room is clean and bright and service is as quick as you can expect for freshly prepared food.

#kempsey #chinese This great little hidden gem didn't come up when I searched for kempsey chinese, Very authentic flavours, will make things "OFF MENU" huge selection, parking for take-away within the Motel carpark. Boxes were good size, prices fair, and fresh produce. Recomended! EDIT-we ate in and found service to be pretty slack but the flavour was still there.

We had a Banquet pack take-away on the recommendation of a friend and were impressed. The servings were large and flavours fabulous.

EXCELLENT! Best chinese I've had in a long time. Not gross and greasy like the others in town. Highly recommend
