Slim Dusty Centre

Have passed by many times but decided to visit last week. Wonderful place. So much history of Slim Dusty and memorabilia. Family have donated his Golden Guitars, gold and platinum record awards, lots of photos, guitars etc, there is a movie and This is your Life recordings. Love the stage costumes and props. One of his old cars and a restored caravan are there too.... a lovely Cafe too! Well worth the visit

I don't want to be a spoiler alert and put up too many photos of Slim Dusty.Its such a great place to visit, especially if you're a fan or you've grown up listening to his songs.I would recommend a visit and their scones and quiche were delicious as well.Lovely customer service from start to finish.

Amazing museum featuring the memorabilia, awards, footage, guitars and Joy and Slim’s car “Old Purple” plus caravan. Be blown away by the number of singles and see the stage costumes. The cafe has a small menu but the food is beautifully prepared and the salads are fresh. Entry to the museum is $24 but if you never pass this way again it is totally worth it.

A fabulous museum dedicated to the life of Slim Dusty and his famous family. I didn't know much about Slim before visiting- I am amazed at all he achieved in his lifetime! Great museum and cafe. Worth a visit.

If you are a country music fan then you will enjoy visiting the Slim Dusty museum. I ended up learning lots of facts about the artist. It is worth a visit if you are in the area. Would recommend.

Not our kind of thing, but this museum was really interesting and very well presented to talk about the life of Slim Dusty. The amount of achievements and awards was a real eye-opener and there was the opportunity to listen to some of this music (if you haven't heard music by Slim before). Lots of guitars, hats and records, and there's lots of memorabilia within the museum.

Absolutely loved it and I'm a mediocre fan. Well presented and the electronic scrap book was SURREAL. Sad to see the downturn in visitors due to Covid - no more busloads. But we benefited from the small attendance on the day with superb service and attention.

Put this Centre on your bucket 🪣 list if you like Slim Dusty what a beautiful place to stroll around and look at the memorabilia. Fantastic

Lovely day out. Center is air-conditioned and mostly indoors, making it a great option if it's raining or unbearably hot outside. Outside are a few tables and personalised pavers. Inside is an amazing collection of Slim Dustys life and travels. A must-see for any Slim Dusty fan. The ladies on the door were lovely and gave a great welcome into the centre and museum. The little cafe was perfect for a coffee.

The walk from the car park was amazing, then the front doors opened automatically, just like you were welcomed into Slim's world. I was the only person there, so I took me time to enjoy it.

Slim Dusty Centre. What a great place and attribute to a wonder man and a great family.

Also in the museum was an old disused fire truck which they used in the black fire because there was a water storage tank on it now very burnt. Worth the stop.

Great experience loved looking at the history of slim dusty , if your a slim fan and in the area do your self a favour its very interesting and lots to see .

Slim dusty is an Australian icon and to have a centre that teaches us about him and his impact so close to where he was born is one of the best features around. The centre caters for groups or for individuals such as us who just wanted to learn a bit more about Slim and his legacy. We wandered the golden corridor and saw the photos from sljms past and all around enjoyed our stay. To top it off we had a beautiful cup of coffee and relaxed in the lovely slim dusty cafe. Definitely worth the drive!

Great display of Slims life. Wonderful friendly staff. George was very knowledgeable. Great coffee and ladies all happy and welcoming. Can't praise this place enough. Worth a visit. Thank you.

I'm not a Slim Dusty fan of his music but this place was very interesting.. heaps of items on show.. like his car and caravan and his awards.. plenty to see and learn and not just Slim but other people in the industry. Well worth the visit. A must do when in the area.

Great place if you love country music or just Slim. 45minutes is enough to see it. Staff were very helpful

Went thru on a bus tour, lovely lunch, great displays.

Really good display of Slim's life and music. It could do with a bit of a revamp of its memorabilia though. No postcards available. I will say that the girl on reception was very helpful and gave a nice introduction to the displays.

My bf surprised me during our road trip by bringing me here. Unlike some of the other reviews, I found the carpark to be quite a short walk from the centre.
Well worth the price of admission and they had a free photo exhibition top!

10/10 would be proposed to underneath the the biggest golden guitar known to humans again

This setup is very professional in its presentation, from memorabilia, golden guitars to his car and caravan.
A Cafe is available with basic sandwiches and coffee and cakes available. An exhibition hall was open displaying deeply moving pictures of the recent bushfires. It was worth the visit and entrance fee.
