Great Northern Hotel

Loved our stay here to break up the trip home. The staff were lovely and accommodating.
It was so nice after travelling all day and getting in late to still be able to have dinner downstairs and the kids could have a play in the play area.
Our room was just a bit hot though, an aircon would have been great.

Room is clean. Price is good. Shared bathroom and kitchen with fridge and microwave oven. Ceiling Fan is provided instead of air conditioner. Quite hot in summer. Downstairs are pubs/restaurant. Great location.

Went for lunch today 10th Jan 2024 first to order and waited over 20 minutes for 2 medium rare steaks, when ready they were very well done and very dry, luckily enough sauce to make them almost palletable. Expensive food for our dog

Good food, clean and comfortable accommodation. Staff were friendly and helpful. I liked that there was a common area with a kitchenette.

What a lovely pub, beautifully styled and the food is outstanding. My husband and I went on a Monday night so it was two for one. A big rack of ribs for him and pork belly with all the trimmings for me, $38 for both. Will definitely be back.

We had a fortieth birthday in the Bistro for ten people booked. The staff were very friendly and helpful even when half of our guests were an hour late. The Chef Jake and his crew did an outstanding job of preparing us ten different meals all at the same time. The food looked and tasted great and we would certainly eat there again. The Bistro is very comfortable and well appointed. Jake and his staff went over and above what we expected and we were very impressed with all that they did - even down to preparing the birthday cakes we had brought with us. Thoroughly recommend them. Just fantastic and great value.

Fantastic atmosphere and food! The kids play area is always a hit.

Delicious lunch, nice schnitty and well seasoned chips

Stayed there on a Friday night and was great experience the super surf and turf meal was amazing, and would stay again also recommend to others, great little hotel, loved it.

Celebrated son's 22nd birthday. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Cannot thank them enough. Food was delicious 😋 . 16 people at our table and everyone enjoyed their meal and the time it took for service.

Stopped in on our way from brisbane to hobart for dinner and a few drinks. Honestly one of the best pub meals I think I've ever had. Do yourself a favour and try the scotch fillet.

Stayed here overnight on my way through. The room was inexpensive, clean and refurbished. Mattresses in the twin room were very comfortable. Block out shades on the window. It's a pub hotel so you'll get music until 11.30 or so but otherwise it was great. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Went there today to have lunch. Guys wow you totally got this extra star as i seen a huge change. Beautiful staff friendly and welcoming. The food is to die for, buffalo wings blew me out of the water. Bloody delicious guys. Chefs are great guys, obliging and nothing was a hassle to make the customer happy. Definitely earned the positive feedback and the extra star. Keep up the great work best pub feed in kempsey. Congratulations guys x

Food excellent
Service great rooms basic but comfortable. Gets a bit noisy downstairs on a Friday night but that's pretty normal.

They have done the place up, it's looks really nice now. They have opened the new restaurant too, which is great since they have Gluten free options there is only two choices but better than none like they had before. I hope they include more later on but the food is great, better than the RSL.

I was super inspressed with the Great Northern. The place has been recently renovated Ethe decor was impressive. The bed was super comfy. The bathroom was modern. Dinner in the bistro wassafer delicious and well priced. Iwill be back andit is really worth staying here.

The chicken stuffed cutlet Is so good. And the play area is good for kids. Staff are friendly we often go here for a night out.

Had lunch there today for the first time. The food was really good with fresh ingredients and large servings. The staff were friendly too. Will make sure to have lunch there again next time I’m in Kempsey.
