South Kempsey Corner Store

Stopped here on my way to the Gold Coast and so glad I did. This place has everything you need to feed you, refresh you and lift your spirits. The menu is spot on. Cooked fresh and probably the best bacon and egg roll I've ever had. The damper roll was the hero. The friendly, polite, bearded guy who served me called me by name as soon as he asked for my coffee preference and called every customer by name while I was there. These little things are what lifts my day. If you're a local, you probably know about this gem already and you're so lucky to have it. If you're a traveller, passing through, The South Kempsey Corner Store is THE place to stop in my opinion. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Thanks for a fantastic experience and good luck with the future.

Gluten free options available. Best checken schnitzel sandwich. Well priced, amazing range of burgers, sandwiches and wraps plus more (if you could imagine). So delicious (esp the local white bread) and good coffee. Worth a stop off the highway. I detour here on purpose every time. Thanks everyone !!!!

These were the best hot chips I've ever had! Fresh, crispy, generous portion and very reasonably priced. The people working there were super friendly and overall a great experience. We'll be coming back the next time we pass through Kempsey 👍 Keep up the great work and thank you ☺

Such an unexpected gem! Well worth the detour off the highway. Why would you eat chod at a fast food chain when you can drive a couple of mins more and eat so well here? The falafel burger was 10/10.

Driving from Sydney to Gold Coast stopped off for a feed.
Best bacon & egg roll and excellent cappuccino.
Will stop by on my return trip.

For too long Kempsey & it’s surrounds have been the poor cousin to Coff’s Harbour & Port Macquarie.
Gradually though, things are starting to change. Partly drawn by the allure of the famous Crescent Head surfing reserve & the attraction of a now growing infrastructure that has home buyers creeping in to the area. Not surprising,
The Corner Store at South Kempsey is bringing some culinary ‘street cred’ to its fast food offerings. Home made, in house cooked & prepared, this place will certainly become an institution.
Brilliant coffee too so you won’t need a double shot.
I don’t know these operators from a bar of soap but their cooking makes them feel like family!
It’s a yes from me!

We stopped at Kempsey on our way from Brisbane to Sydney. Ham & cheese croissant, toasted reuben, tricky coffee order & a hot chocolate all served with a smile. The food was really really good, great coffee. Can highly recommend.

We got chicken pesto sourdough and the chicken Caesar wrap and they were incredible. Service was wonderful too.

Driving from Gold Coast to Sydney today and needed some lunch. We always drive because we take our dog everywhere. Eating on the road is tough because I am a fussy eater so I rely on reviews to pick my feeds. Very happy pulled in here. Awesome store that sells everything. I got a steak sandwich and was surprised by the quality of the steak. It was a nice piece of meat. My wife got a cheese burger which I had a bite of the and the patty was also very high quality and tasty. This will be my regular stop on this drive for sure.

Travelling from Melbourne, I checked the reviews I thought I would try the place out

Walked in, 2-3 customers, looked like a cafe from the 70’s (not in a good way). Was so close to walking out.

A coffee and Breakfast burger later, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Service was excellent, Burger and coffee was fantastic.

On top of that as I was leaving the shop was packed. Locals obviously know they have a good thing.

Great coffee, delightful friendly relaxed young servers and had a tasty southern fried milk bun burger with fries. Great spot after mountain biking nearby, parking right outside and outside tables so you can keep an eye on your bikes

The best Muffin in Mid-north , so delicious

Had a lovely breakfast here with my young family. Delicious bacon & egg rolls and kids had yummy toast with local jams & honey. Amazing coffee. Lots of freshly baked goods. Relaxed vibe. We'll be back one day!

Ordered the halloumi bagel. Absolutely amazing!! They have also catered perfectly for our Coeliac daughter. GF rolls available & daughter has absolutely loved the food.

Just a beautiful store! We stopped here learning to drive on the opposite of the road and couldn't resist the charm. They were closing but made me a well needed coffee, let us use the restroom and we picked up a vegetarian falafel wrap that tasted amazing. Thank you for making our trip memorable by making us feel so welcomed.

Excellent Service, coffee and food. The southern Fried Chicken Burger is the best I have ever had!

The most delicious, fresh falafel wrap I've ever tasted! I'm from Melbourne and I hate to say that I haven't come across a nicer one there! My husband tried the Veggie burger and he was equally as impressed. Very friendly and warm staff. Thanks for a lovely experience and for being accommodating for Vegans! 👏🏽
