Schnitzel Wirt

This restaurant is quite busy, we were lucky to get there early and got a table, but by the time we left, there was a big queue.
The food is authentic and very traditional. It is a good restaurant to have Austrian cuisine. We really liked our dishes.The staff are very effective. It is cash only and it is not expensive.
Highly recommend.

So, we tried schnitzel just about every restaurant we went into and this was definitely the best. It looks to be all original decor from many years ago but it gives you the feeling of old Vienna which I thought was fitting. I had the Don Carlos schnitzel with toppings & rice and it was so good. Nothing fancy about the place but good people, good food and great atmosphere. You definitely gotta try this place.

We had pariser and wiener schnitzel. Both were impressive, with great texture and taste.
The service was simple and decent.
We had to wait in line for a table about 5 minutes. The line can go up to 20 people, but there are many tables, and it goes quick.
The order came very fast, 5 minutes.
They have tables inside and outside.
We recommend.

Best schnitzel that i tried in the city. Really cozy place. The vibe is amazing among the staff and customers. They work really hard and efficiently.
The prices are really reasonable for the (big) portions and the (high) quality that you get. Definitely recommended. 5 stars.

Everything perfect! Meal sizes giant, taste amazing, atmosphere great and lovely stuff! The only thing which is negative that you will not get a receipt here and you can only pay by cash.

Schnitzel was big and delicious. (we ordered 2 schnitzel for 3 person) We ate Turkey schnitzel (only porc or turkey options available) and they brought delicious salad with it for free. They only accept cash. Waitresses were rude tbh but they don’t care probably. If you’re less than 4 person (we were 3 person) we ate with other people at the same table. So foods are delicious but there are things to develop. But still I recommend.

So good. Truly authentic. As far as I can tell, lol. Leftovers wrapped in paper. Cordon bleu was so delicious but schnitzel was even better. Potato salad was amazing. Service was swift and lively. Portions were big!

Unique place, unique food. It was the only restaurant where you had to wait in line for a seat. The setting is traditional, they are often placed at a table with strangers. The food is a superb portion for one, easily enough for two, everything is very tasty, the prices are more than acceptable.
And we back here again, this time order Gulash and Cordon bleu.... Pretty amazing dishes, Cordon bleu was so big, the half we take it for the home....
Gulash was just amazing love it.... And ofcourse we wait.... Around 20 mins.

We went for dinner on the 7th of December 2023. We had to wait for about 40 min outside, because there were a lot of people waiting to eat as well. When we entered eventually, the waiter put us at the same table with the ones waiting behind, as we were 2 couples, which was quite weird, but acceptable.
Everything was so fast-going, we barely had time to choose what to eat. The waiters are comedians wannabe, they are trying to make jokes, but not all of them are funny, though :)
We chose 2 portions of Wiener schnitzel with potato salad, a glass of Coke and a glass of Apple spritz. We paid 35 euro + left a tip of 5 euro. We weren’t sure how big the portion was or if it included the side dish. BUT!!! IT INCLUDED. The schnitzel portion is made of 2 bigger than hand-size schnitzels and it includes a side dish of your choice ( potato salad, french fries or rice).
Everything seemed freshly cooked and had a wonderful flavour! We loved it.
The atmosphere isn’t the best as it is really crowded, but I guess this is normal for any popular restaurant in touristic place.

Very delicious schnitzel! Very slim cut meat covered by a thick perfectly crunchy coating. Waiters are also very friendly and kind of funny.

Food was fantastic, service was friendly. Busy place, you might share your table with strangers if you’re a small group or alone.

To be noted they only have pork or turkey schnitzel. No traditional veal schnitzel.

Definitely worth the hype. We went there at about 4 in the afternoon on a weekday so we didn’t have to wait for a seat despite not having a reservation. The food arrived really fast and it was delicious and of good quality. The staff was really friendly too.

I visited Schnitzelwirt in Vienna during my vacation for lunch on a weekday. It was not crowded, they managed to find a table for all seven of us in our group quickly. We tried their famous Wiener schnitzel. The schnitzel was thin and crispy . It was delicious. The potato salad was tasty too. The service staff were really friendly. Great atmosphere. Just a heads up, they only accept cash.

I had the most amazing Schnitzel ever in this humble establishment! They serve the best Schnitzel i ever had. No frill restaurant. Interesting to have a staff (Presuming the owner) working around in lab coat. The beef goulash is too salty for me though but i realise everything tasted pretty salty in Vienna. The green salad was interesting. When served, it was just a simple bowl of sliced vege but it was seasoned (which is transparent hence i thought no seasoning was added). Went very well with the Schnitzel.

Very cosy place. Staff friendly. Lucky i went in earlier at 12pm. By the time i came out, queue has formed. Due to limited seating, they may ask you to share table with others which is fine with us.

One of the best Schnitzels I’ve had. We had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated. The staff asked us to sit next to a couple which was fine with us. Our order was taken quickly and the food was great (portion is superb). Remember they only accept CASH. There is an atm nearby Incase you need cash. The staff were friendly and made us laugh and smile a few times. Based on the low reviews, people clearly don’t understand the staff can get tired and become moody so you try and laugh it off and have a good time. Highly recommend it.

We had a delicious schnitzel here! Very tasty. We didn’t realise you got two schnitzels when we ordered the wiener schnitzel so that was a lovely surprise! We also had the boiled potatoes which were nice. Wait wasn’t too long when we were there, maybe 15 minutes. Friendly staff, would definitely go again.

The food was very good, I recommend the Viennese schnitzel with cabbage salad and potato salad. The restaurant is very popular but be prepared to pay in cash because they do not accept card payment.

At Schnitzel Wirt, prepare to indulge in generous portions of delectable schnitzel and cordon bleu that truly hit the mark. The food is exceptional, boasting authentic Austrian flavors in every bite.

However, anticipate a line outside – this place is renowned, even drawing the likes of Ed Sheeran (his picture is on the menu). While they only accept cash payments, the culinary journey at Schnitzel Wirt is undeniably worth the wait.

One order of Wiener Schnitzel has two pieces of Schnitzel. If you're hungry This is the best place to come. And also the most affordable. The meat is thin and tasty. Order also potato salad, amazing.
Beware that they dont accept cards, ONLY cash.
Service is really quick. In 10 minutes max you'll have your order in the table.
