Dormstay Riverside Hostel Phu Quoc

Fantastic place to stay, imagine waking up everyday to a calm stream and a sunny day. It's very quiet so you can really relax and enjoy a mixture of nature and convenient modern day standard's of housing. The beds are comfy, and the common spaces are ideal for chilling and talking to friends. It's a very clean space with style. You have your personal locker. The food is amazing! True Vietnamese cuisine made by true Vietnamese people! It's only 5 minutes walking to the beach, you can enjoy the warm southeast Asian sea almost in your front porch. It's located next to a small village that you can easily explore, and close to the main city and bars. The staff are very warm and nice, and are always ready to help you. You'll enjoy your stay here. You should also check out the Goca bar, it's only 10 minutes away by car/motorbike, and its situated in harmony with a contemporary art gallery. You'll be amazed with the infrastructure, art and the cocktails. You should also try the ice cream, it's really good. We went there almost everyday and had a great time.

The best hostel I have ever stayed in! Absolutely unbelievable setting on the river, nice and clean, comfy beds, friendly staff that can't do enough for you. Kai and Peter cooked us two BBQS during our stay and ate with us, which was lovely to chat and eat with them. The food was incredible, some of the best I have had whilst living in Vietnam.
Super relaxed and peaceful setting, I would definitely recommend this hostel to everyone!

Put simply, stop looking at reviews and just book this place! We wanted to stay away from the busy part of Phu Quoc; Dormstay Riverside is perfect for that but is also a short distance from the beautiful Mango Bay beach (20 minutes by bike or shorter by moped).

The dorm room here is very spacious & the single dorm beds are huge with good mosquito nets & fans. Also, don’t be put off by the ‘cold’ showers; you’re in Vietnam so it’s not cold by European standards! The food at Riverside is delicious, and we also found plenty of places to eat in the village; there is a fantastic vegetarian restaurant at the crossroads at the far end of the village.

Very importantly every member of staff made us feel welcome, achieving a perfect balance between a gentle friendliness and giving guests their own space to relax. We met a number of guests who had extended their stay here, and as soon as you arrive it is difficult to imagine leaving. If you work from your computer while travelling (as we do) I would also suggest a long-term stay here. This stay simply could not have been improved, thank you to everyone at Riverside.

Khai and the team make it a wonderful relaxing experience and are quick to provide guidance on things to do on the island and to help arranging them.

The place looks like the pictures - it is stunning.
If you want to sit in a hammock all day, you can! Go to the beach? It is a 10 minute walk. Go on an island tour? Khai has your back and will help arranging it for you.

The communal dinner is a thing of dreams! The food is wonderful - the best I have eaten in the month I have been travelling!

The atmosphere is very chilled out and calm, the crowd it attracts are now rowdy but are happy to join on the sofas for a chat and a drink in the evenings.

I wish I could have stayed longer.

The rivermouth resort is like a little paradise. Josie & phuc created a dream location for travellers. It's not a typical resort, it is more like u staying at friends, laugh and enjoy a wonderful time.

Food & drinks:
Yummy. A good mix between vietnamese and western cuisine. So U can choose the traditional pho or just pancakes with fruits.
Accommodation:
We stayed in the biggest room there, which was directly located at the river. It was amazing to wake up with this amazing view every morning. The room was very clean and like u can see them on the picture. The style of the room was very minimalistic, but a lot of passion for the detail.
Location:
Its a quite place in the western of phu quoc. You won't hear motorbikes or loud cars when you are in your bungalow. Just a place to forget the time and relax. Even though you can reach every spot in phu quoc easily with a motorbike or taxi. You can rent a motorbike for just 6 euros a day and you will be at the beach, night market, several bars and many food options in just 15 minutes.
Entertainment:
The resort by itself is a place to relax. A cool chill out area with some cold cocktails and I swear you will relax. If you want to go for some adventures, they will also help you to get a motorbike and tell you the secret spots on phu quoc! You can also rent kayaks and stand-up paddles for free and discover the river by yourself.
Price/performance ratio:
Unbeatable value for money! Even though it is not the cheapest resort everything is very thoughtful. They take care of the environment and also take care of you. You can ask whatever and whenever you want, they will help you.
So it's absolutely worth to pay that price!

Conclusion:
I wished I could stay for a longer time… But it won't be the last time!

Great place to chill out with restaurants and grocery shops within walking distance! The hosts provide free kayak, in which you can kayak all the way to the rivermouth (roughly 300m away). The hosts are friendly and helpful! Definitely worth coming if you would like to stay away from the busy cities.

This is hands down the best place I have stayed at in my 2 months in South East Asia. Everything about it is just perfect.
The location is set by the beautiful river in a quiet, untouched fishing village. The photos don't show how beautiful this place really is. It's a great base to explore the authentic north west side of Phu Quoc.
The rooms are spotlessly clean and are in a huge open bungalow style house.
The food, cooked by chef Hieu, is some of the best food I have ever tasted in Vietnam and every night, all the guests gather together for a delicious communal dinner and shares stories, food and drink. It has such a nice and relaxed vibe that for the first day I just relaxed by the river and didn't even leave the place.
Khai is the real OG and an awesome host, ready to help out with anything.

Best place in phu quoc, we loved our room and the common chill out area by the river. We took a kayak everyday and paddled 5 minutes to a quite beach we had all to ourself. Food was amazing and we had all our wishes taken care of.

Sleeping is very relaxing, either on hammocks or real beds.

They have canoes and bycicles.

We didn't stay here BUT we find this place online because we wanted to have a good breakfast. We took the french toast and banana pancakes.. Omg they were amazing !! The owners were so kind to us and helped us with renting motorcycles. We eventually went there for breakfast every morning during our stay in phu quoc. So relaxing and good chill vibes. Recommended big time !!! ❤

OMG I've cried when living this place where I felt home for 2 weeks. Lost in the middle of a fishermen village (CUA CAN), far from touristic areas, you just feel you've found the place. So lovely staff. The two deluxe suites are just lovely. You will need motorbike to move around. The place to relax your soul and have a phuquoc beer. Mot Hai ba Yo.

I fell in love with place ... you can enjoy nature, the silence, yourself, nice conversation and sometimes communal dinner and it is an absolute non touristic place! But if you wanna go out just grab a taxi and go the art gallery, they serve tasty cocktails. Thanks for this perfect time!

Experience the real phu quoc. You wake up with the river right outside your door. The nature and the silence is breathtaking. The beautiful beach is only a few minutes walk away. The staff were so friendly and helpful. This is the best place in phu quoc. Don't miss out🏖

We have stayed in Dormstay Rivermouth Hostel for three nights and we very much enjoyed our stay.
Tran was the most friendly, competent and professional staff you could imagine. It didn't even feel like she was staff, more like a very helpful friend! She speaks English very well and is there for you 24/7.
The hostel/hotel has very spacious dorms and beautiful rooms and a comfortable common area with hammocks and hanging nets over the water with a bar. See attached photos. They offer food and drinks and also scooters and motorbikes for their guests.
Rivermouth is an eco-"resort" so you won't find air-conditioning nor plastic used everywhere what's a very modern contrast to the rest of Vietnam. Fans and the open building structure will keep you cool though.
Since we extended our stay we spend one extra night in a new air-conditioned house owned by the same owner (see last two photos), located a few minutes down the road with an amazing sea view and beautiful interior.
Rivermouth is located right on a river outside of the big touristy areas with a lot local steet food on the main road. Probably like Phu Quoc used to be before the massive tourism boom. In general the area is very quiet and perfect for escaping the loud tourism.
I would definitely recommend to stay here!

We took 3 nights at this amazing homestay. It's quite place in the village without too many tourists. The house and food are so good. The staff are so nice, friendly, always ready to help you, they gave a lot of useful information for us to make the perfect trip.

Fantastic place by the river. Perfect to unwind and chill. They have kayays and bicycles that you can use for free to explore the area. The staff is THE BEST.
