If you like history and free entertainment, this is the place for you. It is free to get into and walk around. It seems like not many of the original structures are still standing but the thousands of meters of barbed wire that make up the complex are. Self guided tour with posted signs are available for your own please to read. If you like history, this is a must see.

I've been to Phu quoc many times but first time to come here. Just like the reviews, its sad and I cannot imagine the life during those years. Free entrance, yeah not much to see but the story was there. Really worth a visit.

The place is free of charge. I have visited it on my way to the Sunset town. Quite small, but worth of a trip, as it is history and when travelling, you want to learn more about places you visit. All figures look quite real and the realistic reflection of tortures leave quite sad feeling.

A quick history of vietnams dark time. It’s free to visit and overall a quick tour. There are English and Vietnamese signs to explain what’s going on. You can even see how small the escape tunnels were. I would say this is a must see at least once to understand the history of the prison.

It’s a very informative place, but you do need to be able to detach yourself from the emotional content of the pictures and exhibits on display. Any war is horrific, but being here makes me realise again that anywhere in the world Americans interfere for whatever reason they think is justified, it brings nothing but destruction and loss of dignity.
As mentioned in some reviews here, I also think that every tourist should visit this place. After all, this is part of our world history. And realise that atrocities with consent of US government and EU are still going on in other parts of the world until this day.

a very specific place, not for the faint of heart, but a story worth noting and visiting. I recommend it to anyone who feels up to it

Very interesting experience. You have to think why could people be so cruel on each other..

Worth a visit.
It’s quite shocking to learn of how cruel people can be, especially with the abuse of power. Hopefully we learn from history, and don’t let it repeat ever again.

If you like to know more about a Phu Quoc historical, this is a good place to visit. No need to spend too much time here, I just spend about half an hour here, of course not all the explanation board I read but still can see what’s going on in historical.

Free, and easy to understand because there are signs everywhere in English. They show the conditions in which the north Vietnamese soldiers were kept in prison and the different torture techniques used on them. It's quite explicit just so you know. It's important for the country's history and takes maximum 20 minutes to complete so I'd definitely recommend going. There's also a little shop and cafe with toilets there.

You gain a whole new view on how we as humans treated our humans. Worth the walk around and take time to learn.

A must-visit place when traveling to Phu Quoc, for those who love history, also good for people to know the cruelty of the invader and what they did to Vietnamese people in the past during the war.
Feeling grateful to the people who fought for the independence of our country, so that now I can be able to live in one of the most peaceful countries in the world.
Free entrance to the prison.
Parking is free for bikes and cars, big parking lot.

A historic place with a dark story. Every info sign is translated into understandable English and gives a good understanding. Really symbolizes the horrors of war from a one-sided perspective maybe but still each side did unforgivable deeds

this place is dark and horrific, especially if you go alone, you can almost feel the prisoner spirit voice. The Vietnam war is a controversial and violent war and this prison prove just that. A must visit but think carefully if you bring kids

Must see, if you stay on the island. Especially in a world where the US claim moral high ground, it is important to learn how they treated and tortured people in Vietnam.
Entrance is free and an umbrella or at least sunblocker is highly recommend. It's not a museum for very young children as you see tortured people.

Very detailed illustrations of the prison lives during Vietnam war. It even has a tunnel done up to show the escape tunnel of the inmates.

A percise presentation on how bad the conditions really were. I have never been to a museum like this. I absolutely loved it. There was no fee at all. Most museums don't have english translated signs but this museum had well-translated displays and they contained a lot of information. It was an open air museum and you could really feel how bad it would be to stay there.
