JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa

The property is beautifully designed. So much effort has gone into the detail. Even though it is themed around a University from the 1920s it is artfully done. There is absolutely no sense of it being a kitsch theme park. Rather this is a homage of 1920s elegance.
The staff are attentive, warm, welcoming and professional. It made our stay memorable.
It was the perfect place to relax - very tranquil.

Staying here is excellent value for money. The rooms are exquisite, the facilities are of the highest standards and the location is just breathtaking.
The team members in C&B, F&B, front of house, housekeeping, gym, gardens and around the pool are all just fabulous. You can tell how committed they are to making your stay a truly special experience. They are incredibly polite, friendly and thoughtful, and take away any concern instantly.
The food is divine and so varied, the range of drinks are fabulous (& who doesn't like happy hour?)
I genuinely cannot wait to return here, but next time, purely for leisure.

We stayed 5 nights at this resort and I can tell you that it really is something special.

The decor at this resort is stunning, it has such incredible attention to detail and the grounds it sits on is vast. You will need to catch a cart to get from one side of the resort to the other.

At first I thought that the occupancy was quite low when we visited but at breakfast you realise just how many people are staying there, the size of the resort means it feels quite quiet.

The beach front is right at your door. Make sure to get up early and see the sunrise come over the ocean. If you can’t go into the ocean make sure to enjoy the pools, of which there are three.

We also tried candle making and lantern making, which we very much enjoyed as a family and had something unique to take home. These small additions make us come back to the Marriott hotels.

The gym here was also really well kitted out and is better that a lot of gyms out there. It’s certainly worth a visit if you are fitness minded.

Thank you to the wonderful staff that looked after us well. We will be back again.

I think the resort would work as a family or as a couple. It’s easy to find your own path when you’re there.

The absolute BEST. This hotel was the highlight of my trip. We went during slow season so it was even better because we had the beach and pools all to ourselves. Superb service 10000/10 recommended

Amazing place! I’m a travelholic and this hotel&resort was one of the best in my life. Located on the southeast side of Phu Quoc, there’s a private beach with shallow and clear beach so that even young kids can enjoy their time at sea.
Rooms are decorated with care and I LOVED the colors and the details of each room/building.

One of the best parts about this hotel was people. Everyone says hi when you walk by and are all friendly, eager to help you out. This truly was the difference we felt at JW Marriott compared to other resorts in Phu Quoc.
Alice(Uyen) from guest relations was especially helpful, giving us the university tour and finding every way to meet our needs. She even came by to look for me and had another long conversation in the morning of my check-out, making me feel really welcomed. This resort/trip became extra special due to her. She is truly one of the most special assets of JW Marriott Phu Quoc.

Overall, the food, spa, programs, beach, pools and everything you would expect from a resort was there and perfect. Will definitely come back with the rest of my family!

This resort is the most unique we've ever stayed in. There is something truly magical about this place. From the "university" setting to the activities they offer to the meticulously decorated suites....indeed one of the most memorable vacations we've ever taken. I find myself thinking about this place often even as we travel to other resorts in locations around the world. The developers really created something wonderful here!

Today is end day of our family trip. Few hours later will be check out and come to home. Now I’m sitting in kids club and boys are under kid class. Teacher of kid class, she is good manner and good skill for care children..during last 6 days in hotel, our family is feeling good and took the good experience. Of course, some little disappointed was occurred but it is possible to ignore by other good experiences…i hope, our return trip will be good and will come back again..see you.

Oh my gosh this hotel is just absolutely incredible in every single possible way, the detail is just perfection, it’s like staying in a museum, the breakfast was delicious! The staff were the kindest people and made it feel like home. Would particularly like to mention Dang by the pool area and Sang at breakfast so sweet and made us feel like king & queen. Absolutely an outstanding hotel in all areas! The focus on detail in architecture and service is really amazing. It's like a destination in and of itself. After more than 1500 Marriott nights, this one stands out!

One of the best hotels in Phu Quoc. I love the view from our room. You will feel like you being transfer back in time and complete immerse in a different world. Its a great place for couple and kids because it is so big, you feel like you are getting the bangs for you buck

Unfortunately, stayed just one night. This place is way different from a regular hotel. It's like stepping into the past. The old University concept is very unique. You can watch the whole story on TV. Rooms were great with a fantastic verandah overlooking the ocean. 3 pools, plenty of beds, and very few people. Guests are mostly Koreans. Will be definitely back.

This is one of the best hotel that I have been.
Their hospitality & service from each and every staff here is excellent! Worth mentioning Ms Huong and team, thank yoi once again for everything, my family and kids had a memorable stay here. We would definitely recommend all our friends and family to come here in the near future 🙏

What an amazing Hotel theme and what a wonderful hotel. We stayed at two Hotels at Phu Quoc. First the JW and than at the IC Phu Quoc. What a difference of feeling. The JW offers a big area of university theme Hotel, which is absolutely stunning. I have never seen something like that before. You have so many areas where you can go to and always something new. They have a great restaurants and two happy hours at different locations from 15-19 (3pm to 7pm). Compared to the IC, the bars and dinner locations felt way more welcoming and the big plus of the JW, it is probably located at the best beach on Phuket Quoc. They even a soccer field and running track build into the whole area.
The rooms are fantastic with really huge ceilings. For high status Marriott members you have every Thursday one hour meet and greet with the GM at the red bar. In general you see the mangers more often around, talking to the guest and check for the well being. Especially the food and beverage manager was very friendly and helpful. Compared to IC hotel, where I have never seen a GM or Manager around, this felt very nice at the JW.
The only downside are the higher prices you have to pay for drinks, cocktails, beers and food, but you could also expect to when you book a hotel like this.
In general, if we would come back to Phu Quoc, than definitely stay again at the JW.

Best staff: dang at redrum restaurant, Dane at concierge. I worked at hospitality industry. They are top notch. Areas for improvement for the hotel: the communication needs more alignment among different departments. Booking anything sometimes not smooth. I am a Titanium/ ambassador member of M.

Bill Bensley-designed resort with a whimsical higher-education theme. We have never been treated better by a Marriott property, all thank you to the Loyalty Manager Mimi. We got a complimentary SUV transfer from the nearby Accor resort, driven by their concierge staff dressed in the whimsical costumes, and a late check out at 18:00 for an evening flight. Welcome gifts of a paper fan, two drink vouchers, and a small book-themed cake in room. We really appreciate you Mimi! This stay was memorable and we want to bring our big family next time. The beach here was clean with very soft sand, warm and calm waters with no rubbish. The beach north of the resort was packed with people. The ocean on this side of the island was much calmer than the West side. The breakfast buffet is magnificent and well worth the price. Dinner at the same restaurant was okay, portions are large but the ambiance is not as nice as breakfast.

Probably the best resort we’ve ever seen. Beautiful French design with meticulously detailed surroundings. Huong, My, Leo, Chinsu, Trinh were incredible as we had a stunning room, incredible dinner and unmatched service. Seriously beautiful.

Absolutely satisfying!
There are lots of activities including kids and adults programs. They were very exciting. I had a Lamarck University tour, and the guide who named Tuyen was very professional and nice. Breakfast was also very good. I want to visit again!

When somebody booked this trip for me and said that I'd be staying at the Marriott, I expected a reasonably nice hotel but was not prepared for what I found. This resort is unlike any other I've seen, and the developers went all out adhering to the theme. It doesn't feel like a hotel but like a university converted to a resort.

The facilities are abundant. There are beautiful beaches, a number of beautifully designed swimming pools and there were no crowds. Restaurants were plentiful and top quality. Even the breakfast buffet blew me away with choices, the styling of everything around, and the quality. To me, buffet never conjured up an image anything close to what this resort had to offer.

I've stayed at a lot of places around the world in many countries, and while I've recommended destinations before, it's very rare that I recommend the place I stay. This isn't just another one of many nice hotels.

I've been a Bonvoy member since 2016. This is the best stay I've ever had at a Marriot. The staff, the design, the food, the views, the rooms, EVERYTHING was top notch! A special thank you to Jay, the room director, for ensuring our stay was a special experience!
