Half Price Books

This place is amazing!! It was recommended to me by a friend and I absolutely love it. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was amazing. Everything was reasonably priced and there were so many options! I ended up spending a pretty penny here, just over $180, but I got nearly 20 books, a CD, and a reusable bag out of that. I also found out they buy books/CDS/etc which is awesome! I will most definitely be coming back here next time I'm in the area. 💕

I love going to this location. They've always been very friendly and I always find the book I need right where it should be. Always a great experience!

It is a very cozy and spacious bookstore with plenty of books of all kinds, lots of tabletop games you can purchase, toys for kids, some stationery, and there's also some games for consoles too!

Plenty of good finds here, we didn't think we'd stay there for hours and buy more than we had planned.

The staff personnel were nice and helpful, making the experience more wonderful.

Fantastic used bookstore with a very friendly staff. Number of locations throughout the Austin area and I've always received great service. The Anderson Mill location is a good size store and you can always find something interesting.

It's New to me. Some Ray Lamontagne, Robert Johnson, and King Koopa. Just a couple more dollars than what Goodwill is charging. They also have hard to find $h!tuff. Oh, and books too

I haven't been to this location in many years. This was a regular place for me to go at least once or twice a month back in the 90s and early 00s. I don't like the way they rearranged the place. It's too spacious nowadays. I miss the old labyrinth feel, like you went to purposely get lost in a maze of books, ha. Alas, I now live nearer to this location, so I shall be a regular again. This recent trip I found a few books that I've been curious about for months, and am glad that I bought them. Thank you!

It was a great shop to visit after the aquarium. Albums, books, movies, comics... I could go on and on! We loved it and will be back when we are in this area (visiting from Illinois). Something for everyone.

One of my favorite places in town! Great selection, amazing prices, give or sell your old books - what's not to love?! A reader's paradise for sure and the staff is so nice + helpful!

If you’re looking for something specific, the staff is always willing to look it up for you and show you where the item is located if it’s in stock, or tell you if they have it at another location. If you love to get movies, this is also a great place to find what you’re looking for. We go in half price books to “just look” or to find a specific item, and usually end up leaving with $100 worth of items. But honestly we’ll worth it. And their prices are unbeatable in my opinion

Although I am giving five stars for thoughtful employees, a dog friendly book store, excellent cards (both art & holiday), and the ability to maximize one stop shopping, they were limited on their Clive Barker selection.

I love this chain of stores. I'm a little partial to this one (Anderson Mill) as a best friend works here, but they are all great, well stocked, have helpful staff and how can you beat the prices! I'm a fan for sure!

This is a well organized store; no clutter and areas are labeled. The shelves are labeled to further breakdown the material. You could spend a lot of time browsing the books and music albums!

The staff is always attentive and knowledgeable. Great place to either find the book you're looking for or just kill some time in while looking through everything they have.

Great place to find affordable, gently used books. They've got new books, too. We really enjoy shopping here, haven't come across any of their locations that weren't great.

I’m a huge fan of half price books to begin with. It’s affordable and they always have a great selection of books, board games, movies, music and more. It’s clean and organized like most locations I’ve been to. However, the service at this location is amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and every single time I’ve come in, a staff member has either recommended a book to me based on what I bought, or talked about how much they love the book/books I’m buying. You can tell that their staff really does have a passion for literature. I come here often and will continue to do so!

Always cheap, always organized and always friendly. My favorite book store! Tip: sign up for their emails, you get great discounts are notified of events.
Sometimes I come here for dates, we set out to find something we both dig. Sometimes its a new record and others it's books we both enjoy. They even have good puzzles, fun board games and tarot decks. I could spend a whole day here

Great place to shop at to find reasonable-priced books. I have been buying at Half Priced Books since the early 70s. You never know what out of print books you will find. One thing I don't like is that they have stopped breaking up history books into specific time periods like they used to. For instance, I like to look for books on the Old West and Half Price used to put these books in a specific area in the American History section. Now, they're all mixed up with the rest of the books on American History. This wastes alot of my time and sometimes I get frustrated and leave. I have pointed out this problem to different employees, but the issue still persists. I'm not sure if this is happening in other subject-matters sections in the store. Overall, I still love this store.

The service is wonderful, the selections are fantastic. We really enjoy Half Price Books!
