If you go here ask for Karla. She’s the best great recommendations and the food was delectable. Once it came to the table my mouth began to water, the smells made all my senses come to life. From the charred tomatoes to the blistered peppers and the chicken was well seasoned, the pork tamales were ok. The taco salad came with all the fixings & for a little extra you can get assorted flavors in your margarita… Raspberry, mango, and my fave cucumber. The menu selection is good for lunch dinner a special occasion or just a something good to eat.

I have lived in Austin and have driven by Texican Cafe so many time and I regret never visiting them sooner. My daughter was so impressed with the food and she is very big on good quality food. The food was so fresh and authentic and the alcoholic beverages were just as good. Our server was very nice and attentive. We will most definitely be returning. Shrimp tacos are a must and the kids meal chicken tenders with queso was what my daughter had.

This was about 3 minutes from our hotel and such a great find. We were greeted once we walked in and quickly seated. Our waitress came out quickly and took our drink order. Then out came one the best darn crispy chips and salsa (has a kick but not overbearing) we’ve had in a long time. My wife is from New Mexico and their Mexican food is different compared to us in Texas and Oklahoma but I must say we were both impressed.
This is a MUST try — the chicken tortilla soup is outstanding, OMgoodness it was delicious, trust us, you won’t be disappointed.
Wife had the New Mexico style flat enchilada’s which is a traditional food on the Pueblo rez. I had the 2 cheese enchiladas with red sauce and the red sauce was great, New Mexico style and flavored. I also had a crispy beef taco which is was great, ground beef flavored and packed full, rice was tender and moist and the charro beans topped it all off. We definitely had no complaints and highly recommend this restaurant, it won’t disappoint.

Hannah was such a help in making our office meeting a success. She was very informative about our options for seating, the noise level, etc. and got us in with almost no wait ( I called ahead, but they don't do reservations). They had amazing gluten free options, and the lunch menu was very reasonably priced. I'm so grateful to her for taking some of the stress off my shoulders. We will have to come back soon. The only issue was the table was a bit cramped.

My coworkers and I go here quite a bit. We have had several happy hour events, and group lunches. Always great food and service. The prices are unbeatable. I appreciate that they have stayed reasonably priced while everywhere else doubled. Keep it up y’all! See you again soon for sure.

Food was ready 5 minutes after ordering. Everything was fresh and good portions. Lunch prices were great and chips were amazing.

I liked this dining experience. Lots of tables, nice music, a bar and great service. The service was fast and enthusiastic, as though the server wanted to do an excellent job.

The food portions are larger than one would anticipate. I ordered green chili soup and a small salad. My guest had the Enchiladas. The soup came in a large dish. I was expecting traditional chili, but I was ok with what I ordered. It was more like a tortilla soup. It had chicken and vegetables in it and was enough to fill me up. The chips were fairly standard, but I did like the salsa. It was spicy and medium thick in its consistency. I couldn't eat the salad since I was full and brought it home. I ate that today for lunch. It was still crisp and blended well with other veggies. T

A nice place to eat dinner while you relax from a day's work.

I ordered a cup of tortilla soup and a grilled chicken salad. The cup of soup was large enough to be called a "bowl" of soup at other restaurants, and the salad was a full meal by itself. My food was delicious.

My husband ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas. Again, large portions of everything. He almost licked the plate, when finished.

We love their thin, tasty, tortilla chips. Bought a bag to take home.

My first time eating here and boy was it yummy.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican, this may not be your place but if you're looking for Tex-Mex.... Welcome home!!!

I had the chicken enchiladas and my boyfriend had the nachos. We also have an appetizer of queso that was spiked with ground beef and guacamole (DELICIOUS).

My enchiladas were delicious as were the nachos. The serving sizes are abundant so you'll definitely get full and the prices are super affordable (especially during lunch).

Our waitress (Nora/Noreen), was super knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions. She was attentive and made sure my lemonade never went empty. She was truly a joy.

The Manager also made it a point to visit our table and was even gracious enough to take our empty dishes.

I'll definitely be heading back soon and if you're in the Lakeline area... You too short pay these amazing folks a visit.

Karla is a really great server! We've had her a couple of times now and she has been amazing both times! She's super attentive and polite. The food and drinks are always great here and we love the patio. Thank you so much for the great service every single time.

We like their foods and will come again although my husband is not a big fan of Mexican food. Service is good and we enjoyed our time there!

This place is always busy so we were very excited to try it! Depending on the time there won’t be a wait or a 30-40m wait. Our server Ashley was on point with bringing our food and checking on us.
I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors! I am Latina and very pick with seasoning and this was fire! Definitely try the pork flavored beans. It was the best I ever had!

We always enjoy eating there when visiting. One of the places we make sure to stop. Food is good.

They state they are an El Paso style Mexican place but I have no idea what that means but the place is always good on everything I have ever had here.

Their chips and salsa is really good and seems homemade. Some of the chips have little puffy areas and that makes them oh so good.

The bloody Mary's are truly really good and tangy, I'll have to ask what brand of mix they use and see if I can find it. I like the tomato juice mix by itself it's that good.

Today I had lunch here and kept it simple and just had their southwest Tortilla soup. It has corn in it and a spicy sauce which takes the flavor up a whole other level.

Try this place if you get the chance!

I had so much fun with my table and the guest at the other table, I am not sure how well this review will go; but, here it goes. The food was seasoned pretty good and the atmosphere was quite festive. The stuffed avocados are a must do!! My grilled pork chops was thin and a tad dry, but it was decent. The outdoor sitting is really cool and the Wait Staff is excellent. I felt welcomed upon entering the restaurant. Masks are required until you are being served. Enjoy!!

Amazing flavor and generous portions. Our server Ashley did a great job making sure we had our food and drinks in a timely manner, and all of the food tasted delicious! For the price, this was a great deal and a fun night out. We’ll be back!

My favorite tex mex place. The food is always so good, the servers are so nice and friendly. The food always comes out fast, and I never have empty drinks or chips and salsa. Highly recommend!

This place has seen a lot over the years, but right now, they are killing it. The service is what stands out. From greeting to paying, we are always attended but not badgered. If something comes out wrong or just not to your liking, they make it right without the side eye you'd expect in other places. They are also respectful of dietary restrictions and more visits than not, the manager on duty will stop by to say hi. Excellent, affordable salsa to take home as well so don't leave without a 1/2 pint for your fridge.

First time visiting the Texican Cafe. Definitely won’t be my last ! Food was spot on, beautiful interior design, very clean and the service was outstanding ! Had the Green Chile enchiladas and was not disappointed. Very savory with just the right amount of heat. Blood Mary was very tasty with just the right amount of spice to give you a little kick. Will definitely be back soon ! Getcha some ☝
