Incredible curation of interesting sauces, chips, NA drinks, random foods to go along with their modern fountain bar vibe.

Super inventive sandwiches (spruckle ftw!) and an overall great and welcome companion to their best in class breakfast sando shop next door.

I've eaten the Turkey Sandwich and the "Spuckie" which is kind of like their take on an Italian Sub. This place hits it out of the park with what I've had so far. Tons of bang for your buck with how much food they stuff in the bread, I always leave feeling full. I only wish I knew about this place sooner, they should advertise more. Also serving soft serve year round, which I can't wait to try. If you're in the neighborhood, you gotta stop by.

an absolute gem in the neighborhood. Such a fun and happy ambiance with delicious feel-good food, reasonably priced beverages, and a unique environment to enjoy a meal/relax. cannot rave about this place more, is a much needed addition to Somerville. they also have a selection of old-time candy, local goods (from cleenland), and an assortment of chips and soda. plus the staff is so kind and service is awesome!

Hidden gem. The spuckie is far and away the best Italian sandwich I've ever eaten. 1000% Not your typical run of the mill pizza place that does subs. This is the perfect Italian sandwich.

Also the vibe and service is on point. I only wish they did hot sandwiches as well.. but I'm still happy with the cold cuts

Hands down the best sandwiches around! The "Italian Spuckie" is as tasty and genuine an Italian sandwich as you'll get anywhere in metropolitan Boston. Next door to its "sister" store, Vinal Bakery, the General Store will no doubt prove to be wildly successful (especially when the locally brewed craft beer and wine begin flowing)! The store is great for gifts and locally made specialty products, and the snacks and candy are added treats. There are no stores like this in the Boston area, so it's worth the drive from anywhere.

Aside from my personal view which is that the sandwiches here are in the top all time sandwiches I’ve ever eaten, I think my mom’s opinion is the real showcase. My mom is vegetarian and extremely picky, usually eating the same foods and meals over and over wherever she goes and usually in small portions. I got her a sandwich yesterday which, she not only ate in its entirety (they’re huge and it’s great), but also said it was the greatest sandwich she’s ever eaten. Did I expect her to love the sandwich? Of course, it’s Vinal and everything is delicious. But to say those words unprompted…all I’m saying is, when you order a sandwich here, just be prepared for a life changing experience.

The sandwich was fantastic. Loaded with turkey, fresh and crispy vegetables. I will be frequenting Vinal General for lunch on a regular basis.
Plus the ladies working there are extremely nice and helpful.

My friend and I bought sandwiches on Saturday before traveling back to Connecticut. I wish I had known how fabulous the food was going to be! I would have bought a few more. The bread is outstanding and the Romesco,(I think that was the sandwich name) was probably the best sandwich I have ever had. .I would have liked to have had the opportunity to have a pickle or a small side if say ,coleslaw or something they made as I'm sure it would have been delicious too. WE WILL BE BACK!!

Were you born in the 80’s/90’s? If so, this will place will be your vibe. They got classic candies, legendary sandwiches, and great people. The Best Cellar is stellar. The addition of little bowls of tootsie rolls for the taking will make your heart skip a beat. They also have a great assortment of local products you can buy to-go. Will be back next week

My gosh!! As if Vinal couldn’t get any more magnificent, they do THIS!! 1st time in, I got the ham and pimento cheese sandwich, the winter mix salad, the bean dip (which was like the most delightful hummus), and a quart of the maple latte with oat milk. All of it… EXCEPTIONAL!!

Their take on an Italian sub, the Spuckie, is the stuff my hunger-fevered dreams are made of. So spicy me likey. And it's like they're cheating by using Iggy's bread.

The store is filled with other edible and non-edible local goods and provisions for purchase. I washed myself this morning with some soap I recently purchased at this establishment and so far, ZERO coworkers have told me I smell or need to go wash myself. I consider that a win.

They also have Clark Bar CUPS for sale. It's as if they have a wizard on staff to magically order things I didn't know I needed in my life.

And I drink their beer on tap. That's a thing there.

So, on the whole, it's a yup from me.

If you like an Italian Sub, you’ll LOVE the Spucky. A phenomenal sandwich. I’m excited to go back and try the soft serve.

Such a cute spot with retro vibes and thoroughly modern offerings. Sandwiches, beverages, and unique local “general store” offerings from Pagu pancake mixes and Teddie mixed nuts to make and mend kits, and locally made jewelry and gifts.

i stoped by to get quick sandwiches without knowing what this place was and this was the best decision ever. The sandwiches are deeeellliiciiouussss! Clean 5 stars, fast service 5 stars, services was excellent and friendly 5 stars I will definitively come back and recommande to anyone to try!

The key lime pie soft served ice cream is so good, never knew such a flavor existed.

Spuckie is a truly killer Italian sub. A place like this (general store with sandwiches and beer) is a local treasure!
