I can't say enough about how I love the shopping experience now from the transition from Crate to Blue Spruce Mercantile! I can still shop the discounted crate merchandise everyday, but without the frenzy! And the discounts on the other now higher quality merchandise of 40% to 70% off is incredible! The best part is being able to find items on shelves too!! I LOVE the new experience! I never leave without a purchase.

Loved the former Crate, they had to make a change to keep going as a business though. Definitely weren't getting the quality stuff like they used to on the trucks so change had to happen! I love the environment more now. Less stressful for me, a more calm shopping experience. Got a great deal on a Ninja coffee maker which we needed anyway. Price compared to other retailers and BSM were significantly lower. The owners and staff are so sweet.

I just had to come in here and share how much I LOVE the new Blue Spruce Mercantile layout, design, products and entire community! I have found so many amazing gifts and household items! I have furnished an entire airbnb here with upscale items that I could not have afforded any other way. I love that I can take my time in the shop now and still have some fun treasure hunting in the crates. It’s different than it was, and in my opinion it is SO much better. There is a calmer energy and increased quality. I can’t believe the items I have scored in the last couple weeks! I highly recommend stopping by and checking out the NEW shop!! ❤❤

I have been coming to Blue Spruce since they opened (when they were previously crate)! However, I personally think that Blue Spruce is much better. Previously, I would get overstimulated due to how busy crate was and how full and disorganized the space was. Now, everything is neatly organized and labeled. In addition, everything is still well priced. I got a sunscreen that was normally $14 for $3. THEY ALSO STILL HAVE SOME CRATES! In addition to the store itself, the family of Blue Spruce is some of the best business owners in Rapid City. They care so much about their staff, that it shows to us customers. They’re open and honest, and would never intentionally steer you wrong. If they do, i guarantee they would fix it. In addition, they house other smaller local businesses in their store! For those comparing it to TJMAXX, i would a 10000x rather shop here then there. Love this store, this family, and their love for their customers!

Love the new store and how organized it is. There's no guessing on pricing and honestly, it doesn't feel so pressured. I feel more comfortable shopping. I don't know why others are so upset at the change. Restaurants change menus, food and gas prices have gone up and to stay in business "Crate" had to change as well. It's ok if a business is no longer your cup of tea but posting poor reviews and complaining online will literally accomplish nothing. They will not change back bc you complain so perhaps shop elsewhere and allow me to enjoy the new shopping experience!

Pretty cool place to find deals on big box store returns. Kinda feels like Black Friday or Jingle all the way every time I go in here. Super fun 🤩

Crazy good deals. We saved over 80% off of retail prices and while it was busy that's to be expected their first week in business but the line didn't take long at all and everyone was super friendly. I also appreciated that my items were put in unscented trash bags because I get migraines from fragrances and now I have trash bags I can use at home too so it is truly a win win! You have got to check this place out. It is phenomenal!!

I went on their $1 per item day, so I can't coment on selection. It was crowded and fun. Quite a long wait to check out, but there were a lot of shoppers. Would recommend

I’ve been to Crate numerous times and I can say their new location is much better in terms of space to get to each product bin. Their staff is always super friendly and very easy to work with.

A couple of weeks ago I forgot one of my bags after I purchased them and they were nice enough to hold onto it until I came back half an hour later.

This last time the cashier accidentally double-charged me and was kind enough to run out to me as I was leaving to let me know. They immediately refunded me in cash and I was very appreciative of their honesty. Definitely recommend to everyone I know.

Crate is a great family run business where customer service is excellent. It's a place where you buy the things you need and didn't know you needed at a discounted price.

I absolutely love the store, the hours aren’t great especially for the weekend, but I do love the items and the prices. I literally recommend the store to everyone I know!

awesome place with great deals but could definitely use a couple other stores to spread out the crowd, way too many people trying to cram all together at once imo. However it is nice to have a store that is still fun and exciting. Great addition to this far behind city!

Fun place to find great deals you didn't know you needed.

I have been shopping there since they opened- absolutely LOVE the owners and staff! They are always so welcoming and kind hearted. If you haven’t been, you need to go shop around and see what treasures you can find!! This last summer I found a $120 battery pack heater winter jacket for $8 along with SO many other goodies and wonderful finds! It’s like Christmas every day when you shop there!

Crate is one of the many blessing I have found not only has it given me wonderful deals on items it has been a blessing to meet and work with all the wonderful people that work at Crate. I highly recommend Crate to everyone.

I am blown away by the deals in this place every time I go! The quality of the products are amazing and the customer service is second to none. Such a kind staff and fun environment to shop in. I’ll be back!

Super fun place to dig through to find niche things. Monday EVERYTHING (except a few select things) was only $1. Found a ton of books and journals for myself, and some fun work books and toys for my child
