Shattuck Heights Ace Hardware

One doesn’t expect much going into a hardware store but I was blown away by how nice of an experience I had at this location. My boyfriend and I were immediately greeted upon entry and we were quickly guided to the section we needed. We browsed the store and were once again greeted to see if we needed anything, but not pressured.

When we arrived at the checkout line, there was one person being rung up and despite us having no problem waiting another 30 seconds to be rung up, another friendly employee offered to ring us up right away. He let us know about the freshly smoked hot dogs they were offering!

After checking out, we came to a booth with two different flavors of mini dogs and were told we could take as many as we liked. They were so delicious! The staff serving them were incredibly friendly as well. We left the store in a great mood and highly impressed by the level of service. Thank you so much!

Super-friendly staff, particularly some of the older folks working there who are keen to help and advise. Very neighborly feel to the place.

Every time I go to the Ace on Mass Ave in Arlington, they are consistently extremely knowledgeable and helpful without talking down to me. The gentleman that works there has helped me pick out tools for a specific project more than one time.
Also the teenagers that run the register are some of the politest kids I've ever met. I go out of my way to get stuff here.

This has been my favorite Hardware Store for years. Very helpful friendly staff. After giving a poor review a few months ago, due to a non-mask wearing employee, I returned to give the store another chance. I was pleased to see that all employees were all wearing their masks properly.

This place is a great community resource. I've been shopping there since moving to the neighborhood in 1983 and have bought tiny bolts and nuts of obscure size, paint, electrical and plumbing parts, a garbage disposal still going strong after decades, and a specialty snow removal sledge by special order. They have a lot of stuff and they know where it is, and they offer decent advice to the homeowner.

Because of health concerns, I called the store and paid for my purchase online, and then a very nice and helpful employee (who was wearing a mask), put the purchase in the trunk of my car, which I'd parked right in front of the store's entrance (there are about 3 spaces there). So, though I was sorry to read that one employee wasn't wearing a mask, I still love this place. And I hope these reviews encourage the employee to use a mask, especially since Covid cases are rising again in Massachusetts.

I live in an old home so something is always in need of repair. I go to Wanamaker first and someone is always available to help me find the supplies I need and provide advice on how to get the job done right. They never lets me down.

Better experience today, Employee Ed, took sticker off of battery m and flash light works now, Was greeted by employees when entered the store.

Great service, good selection, and reasonable prices. Parking is on the street, but I've never had trouble finding a spot. Both times I've been there I've gotten high touch help in finding what I need. I highly recommend this place over any of the big box retailers.

Very Helpful, When Shattuck in Lexington wouldn't cut Plexiglass, I took my business here. They not only made custom cuts for me, but advised me on my custom project. Will go back again! i recommend this place, Home Depot was useless as well, No associates didn't even know what Plexiglass was.

This little store often surprises with it's range of products. The upstairs has a nice selection of housewares. Great customer service and honest advice from knowledgeable staff.

I went there in need of inexpensive soil/ grass seeds. The customer service is great/friendly!! I also got gloves therr too!! Looking forward to my nect visit🙂

Called them up looking for 4 screws to mount my tv on a tv stand I had bought. When I went there the employee who helped me was very happy to help. He made sure I got what I needed.

The folks at Wanamaker are very helpful and knowledgeable and the prices are reasonable. Its definitely better than the ordeal of going to their big box competitors.
