*6.2021 UPDATE: Originally I left a positive review. Since then, the last 2 times I went into this small store, the experience was atrocious. The staff became FAR too interested in the specific food purchases I was making. Watching far too closely, AS IF TAKING NOTES, of the specific edible purchases that I was making. The very last time I was inside this store in the summer, I inquired about an interesting aroma that was coming from inside the store. The heavy set, black women ,with the very short hair cut, at the register; told me the aroma was from their Jamaican patties. I said, "Oh, well they smell nice". The women then proceeded to rush to the back of the store and relate to the two men who were at back (loudly enough for me to hear), "She's asking about the jamaican patties" with a very unusual, slightly mischievous and almost greedy expression plastered all over her face. Since I could hear them discussing me, I just looked at them in disbelief and once they noticed that I could hear them, they simply stared back until I left. There were some other weird food purchase encounters that I had while shopping at this store, too (too long and too bizarre to post those additional experiences, here). Now, I know this is just my opinion and interpretation of events but I believe the store's employees began monitoring my food purchases for unethical purposes. When their behavior was normal, I left an appropriate review. Once it got sketchy and the things mentioned above began occuring, I simply stopped going to Elie's. I purchased food items here about 2-3 times before it became obvious to me that something super fishy was going on. I will not support this store front again. My patronage and support were repaid with fishy, stalky behavior and that's NOT acceptable to me, at all. My previous review, will remain below,, including the date I initially shopped at Elie's and left the review.

OLD REVIEW + PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

Super cool little store. Multiple unique finds. Store personnel were polite and friendly. I plan to return soon! 5.19.21
