First Grand Avenue Liquor Store

Great selection (some things are unique that I've not seen elsewhere) including a big selection of THC drinks. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! Their recommendations always hit! Prices are good too.

We worked with First Grand Ave Liquors for our wedding in the neighborhood. Nick answered all our questions patiently and helped us put together our bar list. We ran out of one cocktail very early (surprise crowd pleaser) and they were able to work with our venue to send backup drinks. Super friendly and helpful service!

I learned of this store when I used to live next door almost 20 years ago, and it is still my favorite. They have a nice walk-in for beer and a good selection of wine and bourbon.

We worked with First Grand Ave for all of our wedding beverages we would highly recommend them. We stopped in one day after exchanging a few emails with Nick and while Nick wasn't in, we were able to chat with Libby. They took us around the shop, pointing out different beers and wines that would fit what we had in mind. We bought several bottles to sample (at a discount since we were planning to place a wedding order). After testing them out and selecting our favorites, we placed our order with Nick. While there were a few communication issues to iron out during the planning process, everything went perfectly on the big day. First Grand Ave delivered everything to our venue (St. Paul College Club) and picked up all the unopened bottles and refunded us for those within a week of our wedding. We found First Grand Ave's prices to be fair and the quality of their items to be high!

Considering how small this place is, the selection is phenomenal. There's SO MUCH crammed into this corner store. The staff was abundant and extremely helpful, until you actually wanted/needed one of them, then they were busy helping someone else or each other. Hah. Cool liquor store with lots of wine, spirits, and beer. Knowledgeable staff. Would highly recommend.

Great neighborhood store with an extensive selection of wines. It is important to support locally owned businesses. Employees are friendly and personable. No need to go anywhere else.

Review is based on whiskey selection. What a great place. The clerk working on my first visit was a real gem. Directed me to the bourbon shelf and chatted me up on a couple of her favorites. Since I had the 5 bottles she suggested, she stated I must know my bourbon and if there is anything missing, I should let her know. I bought a sale bottle which had a great price, suggested another for their shelves and was on my way. Will certainly be back.

Relatively large store (for grand Ave) with an extensive selection. Prices are competitive and reasonable across the board. Sizeable beer cooler along with an above-average selection of better liquors. I did not shop for wine here, so I cannot comment on that. Parking is provided behind the store in addition to street parking.

I needed a specific sparkling wine for a baby shower. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. She answered my numerous questions and wasnt upset that I had so many. She had a bunch of information and seemed to know her products well. I found that prices were a bit more expensive, about 1-2$ more per bottle compared to larger warehouse places that I had priced out. Being able to walk in, ask questions, and get great answers and service was well worth the nominal price difference to me. Then I needed a specific type of tequila, and she also knew those answers! She steered me to a moderate priced tequila instead of the more expensive one I was going to purchase. She told me it would be perfect for my needs, and it was!! The gentleman that rang me up, securely wrapped up my large purchase and also carried it to my car. I love to spend my money at local, small mom and pop establishments, especially ones that have a great customer service! This store exemplifies that and why I continue to shop here!!

Good selection of liquor, wine and beer. Friendly and helpful staff. Went to buy some bitters as I remembered they had a good selection when I was there years ago. Well it wasn't like it used to be but I was able to walk out with what I wanted.

Great neighborhood liquor store! They have a large selection (especially for chilled beers), the interior is nice and cozy, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Last year one of them taught me a trick always finding a rose I like and it's never steered me wrong.

My fiancé wanted a nice wine for her birthday, so we came here. I have to say that it was the best experience I've had. Awesome customer service. Made me feel as if I were among long time friends. I'm a Bourbon man, and being that Im from Texas , I love my Texas Bourbon. This place had one of the best selections, and They actually had me test out the yellow rose. Awesome place and left with a buzz.....

Nice, friendly place. They have a pretty good selection of local craft beer and, for a small neighborhood store, they've got a pretty good selection overall. I wouldn't go out of my way for them, but they're in a great location and always easy to find street parking if you're on Grand.

Great selection of spirits and beer. I've not looked at their wine selection to-date, but have to imagine it's good. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and prices are reasonable for a boutique spot. Admittedly, I tend to go to Costco or Total Wine to get the usual 1.75s, but do frequent First Grand if I need to pick something up on the way home or I'm looking for a special release beer.

Awesome selection of beers, I always love exploring the variety of local breweries they keep in stock. Very good prices also. If you can't find something you like here, good luck!
