Big Lots

A really nice small drop leaf table with 4 chairs for an amazing price. Had to pick it up in another store but the trip was worth it!

I shop here most of the time for shampoo conditioner and personal hygiene products. It's cheaper than Safeway but closer than Walmart. They are very friendly. And the store is clean. I just don't go in at the beginning of the month.

Believe it or not! Only my 2nd time in a Big Lots!! Melissa greeting me and such a polite friendly lady!! Great Customer service. I'll be back!!!!

I don't know the name of the man I asked, but I asked a male employee for Xmas cards and he said they weren't out. I thought this odd as all other xmas stuff was out, but I've worked retail , I know things can be chaotic in seasonal transition notvto mention our latest issue with shipping so I understood. I picked up the other items and went to check out. The woman, Melissa, asked if I found everything OK, and I joked that shipping issues has decorations in before cards. She said no we have cards, directed me to the cards. Now one of the other items I grabbed was toilet paper, it was the last one and wrapping was ripped ( whatever, they go in a cupboard so I'll deal). While getting my cards, she taped up the tp packaging, rang everything up,, saved it all while having other customers too.
Now everything I go I can't remember which phone number I have on file, I say this and she says she can add the other so you can tell us either.
Let me tell you, I've had this same conversations with checkers at this store and NO ONE offered to do that before. Don't get me wrong, I'm not faulting them, but Melissa did literally everything within her power to help me, in every way she noticed possible.
I am just a regular upper middle class white women, so please don't think this was sympathy, this is simply that Melissa is an kind, wonderful, funny human being.
She had the opportunity to ignore the card thing, another employee already said they didn't have them.
She had the opportunity to be negative about a fellow employee, bc he said they didn't have it.
She was busy with other customers, she didn't have to take up the packaging. I had already accepted it.
She didn't have to add the 2nd phone number, I would have never known.
Honestly, if she had failed to do any of these things I wouldn't have known any were possible, I wouldn't have been an unhappy customer at all. But she just chose to give her energy to help. So rare, so kind, so appreciated. My peers, "Karens" are a very real thing, again I've worked cs, and I loathe my peers usually, but even to me she was so kind and I understand when csr shy away from engaging with me, my peers. It's a very big deal!!!!

It was the day after Christmas Monday, not too crowded at all. If course most Christmas stuff was gone but it was 50% off, ( I don't know if it was everything Christmas but what I bought was and a bunch of other things too and the sign said only 25% off ), so that was a WONDERFUL SURPRISE AT CHECKOUT!!!
I love Big Lots all year round but since prices have shot up everywhere like crazy recently, I can't do the shopping I normally do. In fact I'm not shopping at all except for at Big Lots because I love their merch selections and I believe they even have lay-away for some larger tickets items. Oh! Their mattresses are FANTASTIC, ( I tried them out ), SO COMFY, and priced well. ( I used to sell mattresses years ago in Nyc cause that's where I'm from and lemme tell ya, if you find a good deal on one or a set, scoop it up cause the mark- up on them is INCREDIBLY HIGH!
I love how diverse their repertoire is, caring everything from adecent amount of grocery store food, to good toiletries, clothes, pet stuff like food and beds, some tools and household gadgets, detergent, plastic tubs, or totes, whatever you call them, for storage, n furniture, a little jewelry, towels n mats n blankets n blenders n pots n pans n wall art and various faux shrubbery. They have outdoor furniture, rugs, a whole few rows of just toys, make up... whew! Too much to mention! They're just GREAT! Next time I go I'll try to remember to take some pics. Their own decor isn't so fancy, but it's got a pleasant atmosphere, and I found the staff to be super friendly and helpful. Oh, this was in Tacoma which I'm never in but I felt pretty safe in the shopping area my boyfriend and I were in, or maybe it's cause my nitrites was there, I don't know... lol The checkout line go pretty quickly because they keep a decent amount of cashiers up at the register. So my pic with the wreath is to show you the outside edge of it. I bought that green sparkly garland there, and I love it! .. and that's how I used it. I remember shopping with the company when they were still mc frugals. I've always loved coming in and seeing what new they have added. But instead of wandering around under clear blue Texas skies I'm doing it on yet another wet and dreary Washington day. Cashier I had was really nice. Store was clean. 6-10-2022

After such a bad experience at another location, I decided to give it a shot at this location to see if I could get the piece of furniture I really wanted. Justin completely turned it around for me, he was very very nice, helpful, and professional. I was able to buy the piece of furniture that a very rude Manager from another location told me was out of stock everywhere that same day. He even helped me load the recliner in the car. Im so happy with my purchase and my experience here. They really do care about their customers.

I would just like to give credit when it’s due! I was standing at the furniture section for quite some stone and Darrius came over to me and helped me out! He was so nice and very quick. The manager he had brought over was very nice too! He had been busy earlier but still managed to help me! I would just like these people to be recognized for taking care of their customers!

Great place to shop. Plenty of fun stuff and lots of it to choose from. Staff was very helpful cashier was on top of it. No waiting in line. But most of all there was quite a bit to look at and choose from was happy with my first visit and I will return again.

Justin was very nice and helpful We would definitely be returning to purchase more thank you for helping us out with our new recliner Justin and we appreciate your great customer service as well as everyone that was on shift tonight.

Big Lots is hands down one of my favorite stores! 🙌 The Lakewood store is very nice. A lot bigger than I'm used to and so many different products for such a great price!

I came here looking for a specific water bottle and big lots is always a hit or miss in a lot of things, they unfortunately did not have it but the staff at this store was so nice and so helpful I felt guilty leaving without buying anything that day. So I went back another day to do some shopping there.

Im going to give Big Lots five stars. I was greeted right when i cam in. The cash register lady Jodi was so kind and interact with my daughter. On top of that Big Lots have amazing stuff. I'll be coming to Big Lots more often..

My daughter drove me to Lakewood big lots and the shelves were all most bare on alot of things but then again it is close to alot of peoples pay day. The cashier was really sweet. The lines were going fast. So waiting in line was nothing. So hum i think i will change my stars to 5. The shoppers all were really nice to i was cutting up with 4 pf them. That was fun. Haven't laughed like that in a while!!!😂😂😂😂

Still one of my favorite stores to shop. This particular store had a great staff who are always friendly and helpful. Benjamin cashed me out today. What a nice young man.

A fairly decent variety of home goods and decor. I was happy with the furniture selections, using these for a small rental unit. And a really nice helper Sam, service with a smile! Thank you Lakewood location.
