Big 5 Sporting Goods

I went to Big 5 for their Black Friday sales and found some outstanding deals. I was able to save a ton of money on a wide range of great products. I didn't know Big 5 sold so many different things. The staff at the Lakewood store were so kind and helpful it was very surprising for the day after Thanksgiving. They helped me with product questions and gave me a place to keep my pile of goods while I kept shopping. When I checked out, I was pleasantly surprised they offered a 10% military discount. Then one of the employees helped me carry my bags to the car. What a wonderful experience and amazing staff. I absolutely recommend this store if you need Sporting or Camping gear.

I wanted to give a shout out to the employees at the Lakewood Big 5 this morning! We arrived shortly after opening in need of cleats for rugby. The employees were all so welcoming and helpful! My 10 year old was able to find the perfect cleats with the help of an amazing lady! I didn't catch her name and I wish I had. I don't leave reviews very often but I was truly impressed today. Thanks guys!

Came here after searching at 4 different stores looking for cleats. The 3 gentleman at the front were so helpful, even called multiple locations for us to help us find us what we were looking for, and they were able to find us the last pair in stock in another location. Very kind!!!

They had a wide variety of tennis shoes and that's what I was looking for

I stopped in today to get a new pair of cross trainers. Hard to find affordable shoes especially in 4E. Those of you who have wide feet know what I mean.

I was greeted nicely as I entered the store and when I informed the associate what I was looking for she promptly paged an employee to the footwear section.

The footwear clerk was already waiting for me by the time I walked to the back wall and when I told him what I was looking for, he promptly made a number of recommendations based on their in store product availability. The guy obviously knows his stock!

I reviewed the wide range of choices I was presented with and chose a pair of stylish pair of New Balance cross trainers. Check out was quick and easy as well.

Both stores in town had exceptional customer service. I was flying out of state with a firearm and needed TSA and flight approved boxes to ship in baggage. When calling the store to see if there was even a product the associate actually walked to the isle, checked on the item, and gave me options for what I needed. When I had to go back for a separate case at another store, the associates were just as knowledgeable as the first store and helped me locate just the right product.

This is my go to store for just about anything sport related. Big 5 is a small store but jam packed with useful, handy, unexpected items you know you have to have! This is not a humongous store where it takes forever to find something, and there are no creepy, dead taxidermy animals staring at you, BONUS!
Since the store is small you can easily find what you're looking for! The clearance is the best and Big 5 carries a lot of brand name items. The staff will call around for you also to find an item and Big 5 has an online store.
The staff are so much fun, helpful and knowledgeable. Want to know about fishing, ask for Craig from Texas! He's worked the longest I know of the Big 5 staff, he is a great resource!!

Excellent customer service I want to thank Galen and Lawrence for their help! Galen was very knowledgeable on different kind of exercises and equipment found me the best deal for what I was looking for. And Lawrence was very kind carried out my package to my car because of my bad shoulder. Definitely recommend supporting a local business like Big 5 over Amazon! What amazing customer service I will definitely be back.

I have been searching for the perfect home gym and found it online, but each store either had very lengthy lead times or they were sold out. When I saw that it was in stock at Big 5, I was quickly disappointed that every store within a 100 mile radius showed that it was actually out of stock. So, I thought I'd call the Lakewood store and I am SO glad I did! I spoke to Shannon who found the item in their system, but had an odd notation next to the SKU. So, she took down my number, so she could research what that meant and said she would call me back in 30 minutes. She called sooner than that and said she not only located it in Arizona, but asked the sales person to make sure all 3 boxes were available, (because the home gym comes in 3 packages). When the 3 boxes were confirmed, Shannon asked them to go ahead and transfer it up to her in Lakewood! While I spoke to her about this, she even advised me what their truck schedule was like and that it should only take a couple of weeks and free of charge! She also extended the sale price, since it will arrive after the sale has ended and she gave me a tip to enroll in the Big 5 e-Team to get an additional 10% off! Shannon definitely went above and beyond with her customer service. She is very knowledgeable, professional and although she was busy with in person customers asking her questions while she was talking to me over the phone, she handled all of us with patience and maintained complete friendliness! We need a lot more "Shannons" in the customer service world!

We went looking for size 14 mens running shoes. Online said out of stock. By chance we went there. They had several styles in stock. Customer service was top notch. Thank you Liz!!! Very friendly. Wasn't bothered by us changing our mind several times. It wasn't our first time in the store and it won't be the last.

I just stopped to buy a Discovery State Park Pass before heading to Fort Worden! Discovery passes are $35 for the year after fee and it allows you to park at any State Park in WA. Day Passes are usually $10 so if you plan to visit more then 3, buy the annual pass which covers 2 vehicles but you have to have the pass in the vehicle.

As soon as we walked into the store Shannon said hello welcome to Big 5. My husband and I walked back to the shoes to look at getting me a pair. We were not even back there two minutes when Kenny came up and helped us. He was so nice and helpful make sure we were taking care of got everything we needed. These two young people know what customer service is. They made our experience wonderful and we will be back again for sure.

Kayla was awesome!
A lot of stores have been suffering due to the current state of the world. It's hard on everyone, and especially hard on employees adapting to new standards and stressed out customers.
Kayla was operating with the same polite customer service as normal, all while wearing a mask, keeping her distance and having to constantly sanitize the register between uses!

Great job girl! You were friendly, helpful and all around a great employee. Thank you.
