You can find anything you need for daily groceries to items for party planning. OMG! They have corn nuts! They have the cutest little flour tortillas! Sweet Hawaiian flour tortillas! Fast and friendly service. Clean store. Employees are helpful.

A quality grocery store.

I am concerned though that the building is showing its age. I hope whoever is managing/owns the building isn't just waiting around for the property to be redeveloped into something else. With the CVS being built next door, I sincerely hope we get a next generation Smart & Final coming along for the ride.

It's a smaller location then the ones I usually go to. But it's close by & always has what I'm needing. The staff is friendly and the store is always neat and clean. I go there often for some good deals.

They are very helpful and they walk you to the location of items you look for...as opposed to just pointing. Cahiers are cordial and friendly too.

Today I went to buy some more First Street corned beef sliced (DELICIOUS), but none of the packages on the shelf showed pink healthy meat. It was brown. I informed the manager there that brown "turned" meat was NOT OK. He thought that was OK. I told him that once meat turns brown, it is no longer fresh. I got sick once from eating "turned" meat. He said he would email the main Smart & Final office. I certainly hope so. If people don't know their products they sell and safety practices, this could cause other shoppers food poisoning.
These Redwood City employees are mostly friendly and helpful, but unions are very necessary for food markets and stores and keeping employees to stay informed.
Don't stop shopping here...just be aware and share valuable information with them. Take them to the product and show them the problem you are noticing.
Like I said, most of these employees here are very nice and helpful. Support your local stores. When customers don't tell anyone the stores that you would like to see more foods or products that you like, or inform them about turning food, nobody will know to order these foods or know that things can get other shoppers sick or worst!

Great prices. I get that they are similar to a "warehouse store"; so only a limited of items are offered to select from. However, I'd still like to see more options. Ie; I shop for two in the household, so the big box bulk items don't do me any good. It would be nice to see some items available in smaller packages.

Very clean store and well stocked. Staff is helpful and efficient. Pricing is very competitive too. Parking is always tight and entry drive is narrow. Place can be slow to check out later in the day and evening.

I went into Smart & Final shortly after they opened this morning was able to get all I came for and was pleasantly surprised the prices were pretty much the same as before the pandemic shut downs. Restocking was still in process, all workers were wearing masks and the new norm safety precautions were in place. At the early time I was there I did not see a customer in any area I was in. As a senior citizen with a lifetime history of respiratory problems I must be extra careful now, always masked and gloved when I must leave my home...I felt safe and comfortable in my shopping experience at Smart & Final.

Quality items at a great price. If you want to get in on the sales get there early!

Update: still solid groceries at a good price but the facility is aging and is getting more and more run down.

If you have a party coming up, or large family and want to purchase in bulk, I found this place one of the best. Catering and hosting supplies, better than Costco.. Not the place to get food for a single night , or family event. Make sure you have storage space, not a fancy looking place, but second to none to any regular market

It's a great place, most of the time I find everything that I am looking for. Great prices on good products too ! Enough parking and quick service, love it !

I have always shopped at Smart & Final they have great deals. They have become the grocery store that everyone uses now so it's crowded and no place to park. The best time to shope is early mornings 7:00 AM

Excellent! I was driving trough Redwood City and decided to drop by. Large variety of products and the produce is very fresh! I wish the one in Santa Rosa was as nice as this one.

Best customer service for years. Love the crab cakes, catfish, and the many seafood products, that they have to offer.

Just went to pick up some coffee filters for work . Masks mandatory inside but really nice staff and helpful.

This location seems to be well stocked and staffed again. Plenty of product and Plenty of help.

Good experience with great prices. Also, asked for a certain product that they were out on the floor and they went above and beyond to locate the product.

Great spot for picking up bulk items plus a decent selection of produce and meat. Extremely friendly staff too.
