As soon as we walked in the door staff was there willing to help and answer questions! They were all so friendly and we definitely enjoyed coming here. You can even buy individual cans so that you can try a variety of flavors. We will definitely be back!

Amazing beer and wine store that boasts a massive inventory, beer and wine by the ounce, and charcuterie to go. The staff is friendly, and the store has a great ambiance. This place is well worth a visit.

This is the best beer store I've ever been in, excellent selection, no filler, and a great tap selection. They still had KBS and 5 beans on the shelf months after other places had sold out. Check it out!

My wife and I planned our wedding from halfway across the country. The beer and wine selection at the reception was well received, thanks to the wonderful help from Eric and the other staff members at Barrel Chest Wine and Beer. Using our flavor and pricing inputs the Eric recommended a decent selection of wines and beer. We paid for it over the phone, and picked it up the day before the reception. Such a smooth operation from introduction to cherry goodbye as we drove away with the goods. Our only regret was that we didn't have enough time to go back and enjoy the rest their establishment: the spread of beer on tap, other canned and bottled brews and wines, etc etc.

Best selection of beers I've seen, most especially a German beer I've been looking for.The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Will be back!

Support your local bottle shops! This place has tons of beers from all over, with an impressive wine selection as well. Good pricing on singles, too. Cans, bottles, and an area in the back to sit and enjoy a good amount of options on tap. Well worth the visit if you're looking for those limited releases and/or other brews not available at your neighborhood grocery store.

They have good brew. I recommend you try the Meade, honey wine that is. Also, get the nachos with beer cheese, amazing!

Really great beer selection. I can't speak to the wine because I don't know anything about wine but it seems like a large selection. The staff is tremendously knowledgeable. They will help you find something you like if you're not sure what to get. The real gem here is the small bar with interesting and hard to find beers on tap, including beer brewed in-house that is consistently some of the best beer in Roanoke. You can buy small pours to enjoy while you walk the store. Love this place!

Most bestest place to stop! Great barrel aged imperial stout selection. Very clean, friendly staff. Hard to go home without buying beers and fancy wines to take with.

Outstanding selection, both in bottle and also now on tap, arguably carries varieties you won't find at any other beer store. Martin is great to work with, and very knowledgeable about styles, availability, etc.

Prices are fair, and again, for the selection, well worth paying. This is regularly one of my main stops when seeking out craft beer in the region.

Very pleasant and very fast with delivery. The wines he suggested were really good although I had never heard of the labels of the Vinyards he named. Very reasonably priced and there is a $10.00 service charge to deliver but No Tipping involved. Very convenient and good wines. My guests were pleased. I will definitely call them again! 😊

Wonderful selection of wine and craft beer, mead, cider, and even the oddballs like hard kombucha, canned mixed drinks, and seltzers. Singles are available for you to make your 6 pack, which is always a fun way to find new brews to enjoy. Can't wait for their self serve station to be complete!

Hands down the best bottled and canned beer selection in the valley. However, their constantly rotating taps and AMAZING in house brewery keep us coming back often. The staff here are extremely knowledge and accommodating.

They have a great selection and variety of beer and wine and do an excellent bar/tasting selection in the back which is reasonably priced. Depending, they will sell you a tasting of 2 oz up to like a full pint off their tasting menu which is constantly updated and a nice variety. You can also purchase any single beer in the store (all beers are priced by pack or singly) and have it opened and served at the bar if you don't see anything on tap to your liking--so your options are pretty huge. You can also fill up your growler from what's on tap. Their bar fare is very good--cheese and meat plates and good nachos and seasonal items. Staff is dedicated and extremely knowledgeable and great personalities. Highly recommend for people who like to try new beers or wines and want to support local businesses.

The staff is always super polite, and very helpful. The selection is very impressive, also. Would encourage any one, looking for a great shopping experience, regarding craft beer and wine, to check this place out.

Barrel Chest has a fantastic beer and wine selection, but the real attraction is the bar in the back of the store. Being able to try before you buy is a major plus, and the service is always top notch! The house brews that Martin has been cranking out are especially worth the visit. I literally cannot name a beer he has made that I did not enjoy. This is THE place for a craft beer enthusiast to visit in Roanoke.
