Nice professionally run lumber yard, nice stock in store and in the yard.

Chelmsford Lumber team provided high quality service including structure engineer consultation, on-time delivery and return proecss. I would especially appreciate the engineer, Matt Rimkus, who helped me calculate the structure and materials timely as requested, and patiently answered my questions. His professional serivce made me finally decide to purchase all materials through Chelmford lumber. Furthermore, the salesperson, Shaun in the store also provided an excellent service in delivery and return of the orders. In overall, i believe that this company is well managed and trusted. Their price is very fair and competitive to others.

Just one thing to be improved is to state more clearly the return policy of special orders as customers place an order.

These folks are fantastic. They're never patronizing, they have spent a massive amount of time on our two visits helping us figure out our project needs. The guys in the yard were even super friendly and helpful with loading a fair amount of wood into my Subaru. It was near closing time, but I never felt rushed. They left my second load of lumber out where I could come back for it. Thanks for being awesome!

I've been there 5 times over the last month for my DIY project. They are consistently patient with my beginner questions, extremely knowledgeable, and know the right tools and fasteners for the job.

The front desk has helped me get out of a multiple tough spots, offered advice on how best to proceed, and been flexible to accommodate me after a mistake in ordering materials.

The delivery was fast and seamless. Having never worked with a lumberyard before, I was not expecting to place an order and have it within the same day!

I recently purchased a small order including 2 7' oak boards. The man on the phone was helpful with prices and stock availability. The yard man was incredibly nice and patient, helping me find 2 flawless boards. He passed down 3 boards, from the second balcony for me to look at. After I found a split in one and a small knot in another, he actually apologized for missing the split. I was really impressed. Next, he suggested looking at 14' and cutting it for me, no charge. With his help we found a flawless board, with really nice grain. He also made a number of other cuts to make it easier to fit my softwood boards into my sub-compact car, again no charge. I would not count on that level of service on a busy Saturday, but he really came through for me. The queen size bed I made with this wood came out beautifully and will last for years. Every time I look at it I remember how you guys helped make it happen. Thanks.

Home Depot may let you paw through as many boards as you like, but you still would not find the quality I got. In addition the price here was $10 less per board. Chelmsford Lumber is now my first choice.

Perfect combination of hardware store and lumber yard, plus they have certain things (kinds of trim, etc) you just can't find at Home Depot, their prices are great, they really know their stuff, and are very helpful. From now on I go there first.

I recently bought a very small order of roofing shingles - 8 bundles. Chelmsford Lumber's delivered cost was less than Lowes or Home Depot. They delivered with a boom truck which was able to place the shingles on the roof, something which neither Lowes nor Home Depot would do.
