Market District Supermarket

Very nice grocery store- delicious bakery and great dry cleaning service too. Fun to shop here because I always find new things to try. I have been using their curbside pickup for years -never had a mistake on my pick up; frozen foods are always frozen and the like with cold foods. The butchers really know what they are doing and are very helpful.
Plenty of parking and they do offer charging stations if you have an electric car.

First of all I work here so tips on shopping! Every department has their own set of workers. Produce wears green shirts! Any cheese questions is for Deli not prepped foods. Dairy is opposite side of store from gourmet, think pharmacy entrance. Half the check outs are self checkout. ALL BEER AND WINE HAVE TO BE BOUGHT AT BEER AND WINE, NO OTHER CASHIER IN STORE! the gourmet counter is COLD FOOD. The hot food is located near the Pizza Oven, the thing with the Flames. Rotisserie chickens are out around 9:20 AM. The rest of the prep food department won't open till 11 am. Just cuz the store is open DOES NOT MEAN every dept is. WE ARE REQUIRED TO SAY HI TO YOU. SORRY TO BOTHER. please don't yell at us for doing our jobs. We don't want to bother you either. Masks are optional but remember parents (dads) don't leave sick kids at home, so germs be here. Please do not send your husband to the store without very specific instructions, we are not personal shoppers. Carside is very knowledgeable of where anything is at in the store- they're the personal shoppers, not anybody at a counter. We have over 40,000 different PLUs. Do not expect us to know where XYZ from 2000-late is at. If it's been years since you've been here, this store has been rearranged, take your time to get reacquainted. Most of our coworkers are neurodivergent- calling us names is not only politically incorrect, it shows your age. DO NOT ASK US FOR OUR NUMBERS. WE ARE NOT PAID TO FLIRT. AND ITS AWKWARD AS ALL HECKERS. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE TO BOTHER THE YOUNG LADIES.

I have shopped here and used their curbside pickup. I like this store because they offer a wide selection of products at reasonable prices. If I need a variety of products this is my go to market.

Only downfall is that its too much lol store has an amazing large selection of everything.

I like the chicken pot pies from their deli.

The hot food bar is also good. The BBQ beans & grilled veggies go along well with just about anything. The guys who run it are always nice to us.

They always have what I need. Great prices. All of the staff is friendly and helpful. Love the staff at the sushi counter. Love the staff at Starbucks. Always stocked. Store is kept clean.

This place has the most beautiful foods I've ever seen! They HAVE EVERYTHING!!! Fruit plates, sushi, soups, CHICKEN 18+ different ways, breads, bakery items...I mean, everything!! Do yourself a favor, stop and just look around...if you leave WITHOUT anything, Ill buy you a Starbucks (😆)

Always the best place to shop for unique items. Large selection of most items. Shelves are well stocked.

If you can't find the grocery items your looking for or need at (This) Giant Eagle Market Basket, it's because the food item or items doesn't exist in the United States!!!

We do 98% of our grocery shopping here and I honestly have no complaints at all. They are always very well stocked and staffed and I very rarely have to search to an employee if I need help finding something. Their sushi section is always filled and they offer a good bit for people like me that cannot have avocado in their sushi. I usually do Curbside Pickup and have had a few mixups with that. My biggest complaint about the curbside pickup, please be careful if someone orders eggs. Twice I have come home with broken eggs because the person packing the groceries in my car has forgotten that there are eggs in a bag and smashed some. I get that it is an honest mistake, but please just be more gentle and aware of what you are moving.

The layout was a little bit different than what I am used to, but it had a good flow to move you through the store.

I've never used the scan and go feature before. I've known about it since around when it came out - just haven't really felt my small shopping trips really warranted it. But anyways, the friend I was with used it. And it really did make a world of difference. It was a family sized trip and it kind of makes sense to do it this way. Cold things are in the same place and end up in the same bag as soon as you scan it, same with meats, hot, and room temperature things. Not doing double work by sorting on the checkout belt.
I still don't know if I will use it for myself, my grocery shopping trips rarely disqualify me from using the express lane.

Jessica did an amazing job on my daughter's birthday cupcake cake! It tasted great too! Will definitely be ordering our cakes from here from now on.

My local GE didn’t have available pick up times so I had my first experience at South Hills, this week. I was surprised at how helpful the in-store staff was. While shopping, they sent me alternative options for whatever was out of stock. I appreciate this because I didn’t have to “hope” they were giving me suitable substitutes.

The app lets you notify the store when you’re on the way & they can see when you’ve arrived. You don’t need to call if you used the mobile option.

The parking lot can be crazy so save yourself the trouble and park on the right side of the building. Tristan brought my order outside and loaded my trunk without smashing any buns/bread.

I can’t say enough good things about the convenience and pleasant staff at SH Giant Eagle / Market District.

The store is super clean. Love the produce department everything is so fresh. I needed some meats, and the nice young man was so helpful, I was making a special dish for dinner, and he recommended a certain type of meat that would go great with what I was making. The seafood dept, always looks very fresh and good. I've had to use the restrooms while shopping. Extremely clean and sanatized.
