Plenty of exhibits to explore. From statues to dinosaurs, famous art works, crystal and jewelry. Easily more than couple of hours to explore the whole place. Stunning architecture both inside and outside. Parking right next by for $10 all day.

Absolutely breathtaking exhibits between the dinosaurs. The crystals they even have a native American wing lake. There’s so much there. Staff is great. It’s absolutely spotless. I definitely recommend going. I can’t wait till I can go again.

Highly recommended!!! So many great things here, spacious to wonder around, lots of info to learn from natural history. They have some physical reconstruction of extinct animals so great!!! Educationally good for both adults and children. Entry after 3pm is cheaper but would miss some events.

This museum is fantastic but a little overwhelming. There is so much to see. You better dedicate six hours to go through and a good pair of walking shoes. I cannot overstate how clean and well maintained all the exhibits are.

Amazing! We spent 8 hours and didn't see everything. Take your time and take a few days if you need too. Thursdays have extended hours.

This place is enormous. Prepare for lots of walking. Great attractions. Some areas were closed that I was hoping to see, Egypt mainly. Overall, great experience.

I have visited so many times and there is still so much joy in visiting. My favorite is probably the gemstones. It's an absolute stunning exhibit. There is a lady that often talks to us in the dinosaur skeleton room that is probably the best employee you could ever ask for. She said she's worked there for over 30 years and is a gem herself. I love taking my time and really reading all of the information. Perfect for the youth and the adults.

Fantastic museum. Has an easy walking route from one exhibit to the next. Dinosaur and mammal exhibits have great skeletal fossil examples. Rock and mineral area has beautiful specimens. I like how several areas focus on Pennsylvania.

My family loved the museum and the variety of sections. My kids favorite area was the one with the dinosaurs and my favorite area was the one with gemstones and rocks, so many beautiful collections. We will return for sure!

One of my favorite places to go in Pittsburgh with my little ones. At least once a month we come here for a weekend visit to explore the whole facility. There’s plenty to see and talk about in the three pavement exhibitions spread all over. For wheelchair users, there ramps and elevators to help with access and bathrooms are wheelchair friendly.

If you plan in get a snack, there’s a cafeteria in the basement. The only downside is the lack of gluten and dairy free options. If you are driving, there’s a garage access that you pay $10 per car.

We LOVED our visit to the museum of natural history and art today!! This trip with friends and our children was beyond special.

Every single staff member we encountered did a wonderful job. It's very clean, there is sporadic seating throughout for these tired bones😅.... and there is more than a couple of years' worth of education within these walls for visual learners and those who appreciate art.

The bone digging area was closed today, so we decided to get lunch instead. The food was good, the tables well spaced, and staff were truly wonderful.

I will add only one note that doesn't feel good -- the flow of the cafeteria is a bit strange. In order to see all of the selections, choose, order and pay - you end up doubling back on your footsteps, nearly all the way to the cafeteria entrance.

It feels like the biggest improvement, if any to be suggested, is this Flow in the cafeteria to the cash register. *This is Not a complaint, but rather a feature enhancement request!?*

Otherwise, I fell a little more in love with Pittsburgh and the proud city wide support of museums like these. ❤💕❤💕

Pictures posted are intended to be of the actual facilities rather than the art, with the exception of the Geologic map of Pennsylvania.

a great museum to spend the day at. the natural history and art museum are included in the same ticket for $25 so it's a great deal. we spent more time on the natural history side but I recommend seeing what there is before going so you can organize your time better.

Very wide and expensive place. . You need full day to visit. Not check you coffee mugs in gift shop box. Ours were damaged. It looks intentionally.

We hadn't been down to visit in a few years. We had such an amazing time! Grab a building map on your way in because you'll need it to ensure you don't miss anything. We discovered areas of the museum we never knew about! There was so much to do and see. You could spend days there! And the security guards were all so friendly and helpful. The gift shop was excellent! We left with a bag of good finds. The snack bar "fossil fuel" had delicious and affordable foods, just not enough seating at lunchtime. Parking was expensive at $10 but it is what it is. Overall it was a wonderful day and we're looking forward to getting back to enjoy all that the museum has to offer again!

Absolutely amazing museum, I could spend hours here but 2-3 is enough to see everything. They have so many exhibits and artifacts, the highlight being the first T. Rex fossil ever discovered. They have other dinosaurs and a beautiful gemstone exhibit too. $25 admission gets you into both this museum and the art museum. Must visit when in Pittsburgh!

A wonderful experience for all ages! I was genuinely surprised there weren't many folks there, though it was nice to not feel rushed or in the way of someone else's visit.

This is our first time here. This place is huge. It took us most of the early afternoon to go through. The dinosaurs skeletons were very cool. The kids loved them and so did I. My wife loved the art museum I thought it was ok. (Just not my cup of tea). The natural history museum was really cool though. To see everything in here would take you all day. We will definitely be back to look around more

Absolutely the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to, hands down! The ceremony was in the statue hall, which was so detailed and gorgeous. Then we checked out the greek castings in the museum during cocktail hour. They are casts from the same monuments in Greece, which is amazing. The detail and history were so cool to see! We watched the first dance from the balconies in the reception hall, and i felt like i was an 18th-century noble! Dinner was a beautiful salad with a roll, mushroom ravioli, filet and crab cake with mashed potatoes and broccoli - everything was so delicious, i definitely overate and had to walk off the meal for the rest of the night. But not before getting a few take home boxes of home made cookies from the smorgasbord of cookies table. Truly a wedding and museum to remember!
