My favorite liquor store and small market. Good selection of whiskey, wine and beer. Mostly at good prices. Great place to pick up a few snacks and food items. The staff are wonderful, always welcoming and very helpful, always carrying the heavy packages to the car. They kept us going during the pandemic, it was far easier to shop.

Well, you certainly pay for the convenience in the high prices, the great attitude, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff makes up for it!

Awesome neighborhood market that has a huge selection of liquor, beer, and wine at a very fare price. The staff is really nice and super welcoming. Just when you think they won't have something, you'll be surprised to find out they do.

They've got an awesome selection of wines and hard liquors. The other thing I love about this market is there are a bunch of items you'll never see at a grocery store. This isn't a cookie cutter market, you're going to find some special items whether you're looking for whiskey, water, or a snack.

Our new local market since we moved a few months ago. Good beer and wine selection, fair prices and the people who work here are always friendly and smiling.

The store is great. They have such an amazing variety of wines and liquor. Also they are the only ones that sell my brand of disposable cigarettes.

This place is like my own little savior grocery store! Uh oh need some candles, batteries, icecream, papertowels? Well they are prepared for all my late night emergencies. My family and I go here every day bc the of how convenient and friendly the people are. They always welcome me with the most genuine greeting every time I enter the store. Hearing them exclaim “HEY ITS SOFIA!” makes me and the rest of the customers smile, providing a great sense of community, as I chuckle it off with everyone. Best people ever and the least I can do is express my gratitude. I never leave ratings but the village market is the best local store in noho/studio city hands down!!! The safe haven where studio city pals can always see a friendly familiar face and get all the essentials!! Big shoutout to Tony 💖

I've been going to this lil gem of a store for over 20 years. And During this time there's only been a handful of cashier's bc the owner likes to hire a couple people and watch m stick with them for as long as possible, or at least as long as they are willing to stay. Bob was my first favorite and also the first i got to know on as first-name basis. Sadly, he passed away after a long fight with cancer about 15 years ago now. God bless him!
Now, for the past 10 years I've had the pleasure of getting to know Marcos; he's super friendly and always maintains a good, positive attitude. Truth be told, i often wonder how he does it (working as much as he does)-- as it is, i don't think the guy gets to have too much of a social life and I'm not even sure if he regularly gets a day off each week. He must work over 60 hours a week and is always there whenever i go in to pick up a snack, a six-pack of beer, or some pet food that i forgot to grab while at the super market. Nelson and his wife run and own the place and I've seen the store transform throughout the years. I fondly remember when they used to have their own hot deli/ fresh butchered meat section but for whatever reason they dropped that service ages ago and opted for a more simple approach...i suppose it was just one more headache at the end of the day to stay on top of and maintain and it wasn't worth the hassle, especially if but enough customers were willing to purchase that goods and at as slightly higher price. But I, for one, was always a big fan and thought the quality off the bm steak war particularly good. Those were the days;)
Anyhow, not to imply that the little corner market had dropped off or not as good now at it once was but i can be a nostalgic soul and i personally miss since miss since of those things that the store decided to drop and do away with.
But it's the cozy, neighborly charm that makes the place as a staple of the area, and there aren't too many places these days that you get to know the staff by name and that they greet you by name as well when they see you walk in. And that's what makes this lil store so great! I'm only 41-years-old but i grew up in the neighborhood and i imagine I'll always stay or live around here, or not too far away if I do decide to move...
The trade-off of having to spend a lil more for things that you'd find cheaper at Ralph's or at Vons is the fact that it's so conveniently close for the "locals" and that you get that "cheers" treatment, "where everybody knows your name"😁. Thanks Marcos, Nelson, and the crew! For a market so small, you're big in kindness, and warmth, and in a world that seems more unpredictable than ever, and uncertainties and tensions over one thing or another (whether politically or bc of the caronavirus) it's refreshing to have this type of business that can remind us the importance of "home" and the blessing of having this great a neighborhood to have it in!

Quaint and extremely well stocked. Deceivingly larger on the inside, without a Doctor.

The selection is absolutely one of the best in the valley for a convenience store. On everything. Yes, everything.
Liquor to soda, to coffee, to clif bars to cigarettes to snacks. They got it, and a lot of variations. Prices are totally reasonable, and the store is well stocked and maintained at all hours
