Love these shop! I used to search and search for socks. I moved to Roanoke and found all the socks right here any time at Walkabout Outfitter!! They are always friendly and knowledgeable!

Visiting from Ohio and stumbled across the store. Clean and organized. Large selection of packs, gear, and apparel. The staff was very friendly! I highly recommend the store. And I bought this cool hat! 😎

This is my 1st Google review ever so I apologize if I ramble. I recently came into a rough situation and am having to live outside. To make it a little easier on myself I started approaching it as more of a a thru hike than homelessness. When I discover this shop downtown and the staff heard my story they didn't judge but immediately stated helping out. Ocer the last couple months I've gone there every payday and made several purchases. The steff gives me advice and even let's me try things out to make sure they work for me. They've even told me when to come in for sales to help me out. When I'm backonny feet I plan to hike the Appalachian, and will continue to be shopping there for years to come. Excellent shop everyone should check out

Great store. Amazing customer service. The selection of outdoor gear and fashionable clothing is the best in roanoke. The curated collection of items for sale clearly had a lot of thought put into it. if they don't have it in stock they can order it for you and ship it directly to your house. I highly recommend this store.

Great hiking maps and gear. A little pricey but they probably have what you need.

I’ve shopped at this store twice now and found what I was looking for both times. purchased a Camelbak hydration bladder, and miscellaneous lightweight hiking/camping gear. The staff were friendly and helpful and the store has a good inventory of quality equipment and supplies. I will definitely be returning in the future!

We love shopping at Walkabout. They have all the outdoor brands we love (smart wool, north face, sea2summit, and more) and make it very easy to purchase any items that are out of stock at store level.

I bought jackets, tents, and various other backpacking items from them. They provide great service and are always willing to help. In the store they carry many of the top technical brands but can also order many others if it is not in the store. Really enjoy this place.

I have shopped at Walkabout in Roanoke for many years and taken classes there. They helped me prepare for a section hike of the Appalachian Trail (yet to be completed!) and provided me with many good tips. My wife and I travel a lot and we purchase comfortable travel clothes there, as well as gift items. It is great to have a store like this in Roanoke!

I will never go to a big box store ever again after shopping here. The staff was amazing! Quality products, great display! They prove that customer service is not dead! I came in for a nalgene bottle and left with much more, and couldn't be happier about it!
