Kona Joe's Island Cafe

My visit to Kona Joe's Island Cafe was in the aftermath of Hurricane Hermine, September 2016. I was wandering the town, being a typical tourist, getting pics of the storm damage. I was pretty sweaty and tired by the time I got to Kona Joe's, and it was right at 5pm, and the owner was about to close, but she was kind enough to stay open long enough to make me a chocolate shake. It was delicious, and she was a friendly and gracious hostess. I had a great experience. Thank you!!

When I fist stopped in, I didn't have much hope for a good meal. The place is a little run down outside, wow, was my assumption wrong. We ordered the keesh and Philly cheese steak. We both left full, and impressed. The google reviews are correct, a great little place to grab a bite to eat. LOVED IT

My sister and I stopped here for brunch. It's a great spot overlooking marsh and water. We met the owner, who chatted with us for a while and loved on our dog, Apples - even brought out some bacon for her! Stop by for an omelette or quiche. Breakfast is served all day.

My friend and I, visited this weekend the Kona Joe's Island Cafe, they have the best espresso coffee and food, everything was delicious and the view wonderful. The most important impressions we had were the owners and daughter, who were warm and friendly and how clean the place was. We will be back for sure. Thank you again.

This place is so cute, very clean, prices were very reasonable and the food was excellent. The proprietor (and the rest of the staff) here is BY FAR the most friendly we experienced in the whole area. Every other restaurant we went to was staffed with folks who really didn't seem to care that we were there to enjoy ourselves (or care that we would tip well on great service). If we ever return to Cedar Key then this will be our breakfast spot each morning.

Joe is a wonderful host. His story on how he came to be at this location is inspiring. He's great a personable and a great story teller.

Sit in the back and enjoy the shrimp and grits are a must!

I had the cheese steak sub, which was pretty good, but the roll it was on was really good. My wife had the shrimp and grits and thought they were excellent

Cute, clean, on the water. Dining inside or out. Small place with limited menu but perfect to grab some ice cream or a sandwich and relax a bit. Very nice people.

Seriously the best shrimp and grits of all time! Nice, peaceful view. Good food and prices.

28 of us from the birder club arrived all at the same time, it took time for the food to get out, but when it came out it was all good. Relax and enjoy
