Annie's Cafe

We enjoyed a made-to-order breakfast and it didn't cost much. My bargain-hunting friends will love hearing about this place. The waitress was friendly and told us all about the cafe. The cozy dining room used to be a dance hall and the cook preparing our meal was Annie's granddaughter. One of Florida's governors from way back frequented the place and his framed portrait appears on the wall. We loved the stories as much as the food. The biscuits were my favorite but the eggs with both grits and potatoes were yummy too. We loved the casual friendly vibe in Annie's and it won't be long until we come back to experience it again.

We have been eating at the BEST place in Cedar Key for many years … Annie’s Cafe!!
Today I had fried flounder & shrimp with homemade (yes homemade!!) potato salad and french fries and as always it was absolutely delicious!! If/When you make your way to Cedar Key do yourself a favor and eat the best food on the island. Annie’s also has a fantastic breakfast yes I’ve had that too!

Great atmosphere and staff. Best hush puppies that I’ve had in years, the chef knows what they’re doing. You’d be missing out if you didn’t eat at this amazing spot!

Stopped by for an afternoon lunch on our way to Cedar Key. What a hidden gem!! The atmosphere was eclectic and extremely welcoming, especially for a family with four kiddos. The staff was amazing friendly and the food was fantastic!! All 6 of us got a different meal and each were so wonderful we couldn’t wait to share it with one another. Everything was clearly homemade and not frozen. The view out the back was beautiful. We will definitely return if in the area again! Thank you Annie’s for a great experience!

Really good! Just what a doctor would order if the doctor told you to eat breakfast.

THE STAFF:
Very nice. Attended to our needs quickly and efficiently.

THE AMBIANCE:
Really awesome. Loads of art on the walls (which much is for sale). Nice outdoor seating, nice indoor seating.

THE PARKING:
TERRIBLE.

Fresh softshell blue 🦀 crabs are in season now! So thats what I had, Superb to say the least! Glenda and her team served fantastic food. 👏 Thursday special is Meatloaf, that was are other our choice for today's meals.
The greens 🙌 hands down the best in the area.

We loved the breakfast, came back 2 days in a row! Service was fast and friendly. Food was great.

We were initially disappointed we arrived after they stopped serving breakfast. However, it turned out to be the best decision! Ashley's suggestion of an egg on their hamburger was an excellent choice.
The food is amazing: hot, fresh, made to order. The "small" hamburger was more than enough. The cheesy grits were excellent and perfect amount of cheesy.
My friend loved the hot fries and fried pickles.
They were out of mimosas, but they have a full bar. The drinks were refreshing and better than a mimosa.
The homemade key lime pie was phenomenal!!! Seriously one of the best I have ever had.
Absolutely one of the best places to eat on the island. Low key and perfect.
The outdoor seating offers 6 large tables with fans at each table and an outdoor deck option for bringing the furry family. 🐕🐕

Great breakfast, straightforward, casual service, bring cash to pay if you can…. Sign says “cash is queen”. Low key, not fancy. Not pretentious.

Food is great. Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere was great although if you ‘need’ AC, this may not be the place for you.
Outdoor seating, screened indoor seating and indoor indoor seating. All serviced with fans but no AC. Not a big deal to me but may be to some.
Veggie and western omelettes were yum! Veggie omelet had zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes….so good! Hash browns were perfection.

Great food! Nice, summer vacation cafe feel. Can sit outside on the water or screen enclosed patio or inside. Has a seperate section where you can eat with a well behaved doggie.

Ok. This place like most of cedar key is unique. We showed up first around 9:30 pm to learn that it's a bar at that time of night. Everyone was very friendly and invited us back for breakfast the next day. The food was fantastic, best veggie omelette I've ever had. Service was not fast, but it's a laid back place. Must stop if in town

Do you want to enjoy the absolute best breakfast or lunch in Cedar Key? If so, Annie’s is the place you should try. This was our fourth year to visit the island and Annie’s is our go to restaurant.

This year we ate lunch here six times over our three week stay and five of those times I had soft shell crab sandwiches. They are the bomb. They also make the best homemade soups such as their chicken vegetable soup.

Best yet is their service. Everyone is friendly and they appreciate your business. I recommend that you sit at the long table and talk to all the other customers that are sitting there as well.

You can also bring your dog with you and have your food on the covered patio.

We look forward to our next trip to Cedar Key and I can assure you that we’ll be eating at Annie’s.

We've eaten here several times. Biscuits are delectable. Biscuits and gravy is excellent. Pancakes and eggs also great. Service is the best. Parking is first come first served. Atmosphere is rustic and dockside. No a/c but plenty of fans.

What a delightful find. It doesn’t look like much at first and you can’t exactly figure out if it’s open or not. As you inch closer, however, a charming, rustic restaurant emerges. Located on a canal in Cedar Key, the wading birds, roseate spoonbills even, do not disappoint. They have all the classic breakfast foods, but didn’t even blink when I asked if they could sauté up some vegetables to go with my hash browns. Picture perfect exterior too. You’ll be glad you found it.

Quaint locally owned. Loved our breakfast and the service was great! Will absolutely be back!

Best Food we ate at Cedar Key and it happened to be our Bon Voyage. We got the two eggs bacon and cheese grits as well as the three omelette veggie with grits, biscuit and a side of gravy. Absolutely Delicious!
