Duncan's on the Gulf

We were recommended to try the breakfast food here from a new friend we made while venturing this small town. The breakfast did not disappoint! Customer service was excellent and our waitress didn’t hesitate when I asked for hot tea and a shot of bourbon to drink. We started with an appetizer of their homemade cinnamon roll. I am still salivating over their homemade icing. It was a different kind of sweet but not overwhelming like your traditional icing loaded with sugar. I made my own omelette that was basically all veggies with sausage added. The size portions were huge! The sausage in my omelette had a very delicious seasoning taste. We had a great experience and will definitely recommend others to visit.

Location has a nice view where you can see the passing boats and watch people catch fish on the local pier. Food was amazing! Hot, fresh and served reasonably fast. Server was friendly and accommodating. We wanted the dinner menu and it was to early but she made it happen. Will definitely go back.
Bathrooms where clean and overall a great experience.

We go to Cedar Keys every time we vacation in Florida. We ate here this time and the food was good. I had a crab cake with chowder soup and wife had shrimp. We sat on the 2nd floor outdoor balcony which has a great view of the water.

We absolutely loved this place. Vickie is a fabulous server and bartender. She was doing both jobs and doing them very well. She was personable, we really enjoyed talking with her. The food was fantastic. My husband is not a real seafood person but went out on a limb and ordered the blackened mahi tacos. He was so happy he did, he loved them. I had the grouper fingers, blackened. I got the sauteed veggies as a side. I was in love, so so good. Definitely can't wait to back. Right on the water, sat and watched the gulf. You won't be disappointed in this choice.

The waitress is a large part of 5th star. She was polite and friendly. The food was Amazing 🤩! I was a little surprised at how delicious the Snapper sandwich was. The clams were perfect and the Crabcake, oh man. That would be a meal by itself. Perfectly cooked I’d drive to cedar key just for that again. Really enjoyed the outside seating and the view is great.

We arrived at about 4 PM and chose a table inside. There is also a section of the restaurant that is outdoors over the water. It looked pretty full. There is a bar downstairs.

The restaurant was clean and our server was attentive and friendly. My husband and I both had the fish n chips. The fish used was Haddock and fried in a delicious beer batter. It was a very generous portion of fish and some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The tarter sauce had just the right amount of tanginess and complemented the fish well. The fries were good, but the fish was the star of the show. The sweet tea was a perfect addition to the meal.

If you want a good low key restaurant right on the water with delicious food, I highly recommend Duncan’s.

Stopped at Cedar Key to have lunch. We found this wonderful gem with a great view. We started out with an order of Steamed clams in a white wine, dill and garlic broth. They were amazing and that broth should be bottled and sold.
We then ordered the fried grouper fingers...they were fresh and lightly battered, very lightly battered which brought out the taste of the fish and not the batter. The portions were a lot bigger then expected, enough for lunch the next day.
We enjoyed this marvelous lunch with two fabulous mojitos. After lunch we enjoyed a great conversation with Laura the owner.
We will return.

Best place to eat in Cedar Key! Good is always excellent, staff is very friendly and good. Views are great!

We were on the deck. Which was very nice. We had a party of 3.
The food was good. We liked the food better than at Steamers. There were edible orchids on our plates, they were pretty.
My drink had a lot of pulp in it. If you don't like pulp be careful what you order. Mine was some kind of fruity rum drink.

Omg I highly recommend getting the shrimp pie it was amazing we had 2 of them that is how good it is I also highly recommend asking for Angela she was the best server also try the clam chowder

Great service. We were a group of seven and they took very good care of us. The food is really good. Awesome view of the Gulf!

Love this little hole-in-the-wall! Everything we have eaten has been stupendous! They're not on the menu, but sometimes the chef makes mango habanero Diablo oysters if you want something different and delicious! Onion rings are the best we've ever eaten and served with an orange sauce. Mixed drinks are good too and the beer is nice and cold. Nice scenery watching dolphins and people fishing on the pier and always great music playing whether it be live or just on the air. No complaints from us other than we can't get there often enough!

This is a great place with sea view perfect to enjoy some drinks or eat, they have bands playing some days in the week, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, we have breakfast and it was really good, the service and the people that works there it was great! You are gonna have a great time if you come here for sure!

Fantastic breakfast! Best shrimp and grits ever! The Island Bowl came smothered with a delicious conch chowder. The service is great. Belle was a great server and gave recommendations that were spot on.

So as we are walking around the island looking for breakfast we end up at Duncan’s on the Gulf. We’ve had lunch and dinner here so we knew the food would be good. Well it was GREAT. The service, the eggs, Bradley’s sausage patties and they are right. They have the BEST Bloody Mary.

I have eaten here a few times over the past couple years. This was my first breakfast. It was excellent, but then again I am a creature of habit and always get the same thing for breakfast. Two eggs over medium, sausage patties, home fries and toast. My wife had the veggie skillet.

It was the BEST clam chowder and fried shrimp that we have ever eaten! Friendly service and tables looking right out at the Gulf.

Absolutely loved their breakfast omlet was one of the best I've had my husband yeah they conch chowder over red potatoes with a couple of eggs said it was very good French toast was ok. Service was great would definitely go back.

Wonderful Seafood cooked just right, lightly floured, gently fried,best smoked Mullet dip ever. Wonderful waterfront view, easy accessibility, downstairs open air bar, enclosed air conditioned dining and upstairs deck dinning too. Live entertainment. For all you NEHI Grads - Mike Duncan class of 73.

Food was delicious, great onions rings, tasty clam chowder o chawda? 😄
Fresh seafood , mahi mahi sandwich was really good and big, peel and eat shrimp very tasty.
