Camp Celo

My child absolutely loves Camp Celo, and she can't wait to go back for her third year. The counselors and staff are so kind and welcoming, really go above and beyond for the children. It is everything the modern world usually is not -- slow-paced, peaceful, humane, connected to community, in touch with the earth and the rhythms of nature.

Some of my fondest memories are from this sweet, wholesome place- Gardening/eating the tastiest carrots fresh from the ground, milking the cows, hiking Celo mountain, blackberry picking…it was a city girl’s dream! ❤ can still recall the wonderful aroma of campfires, vintage books & real wood, freshly cut. I see those bunks (tent over a raised platform) stood the test of time! I attended as a child decades ago; now hope to send my grandkids in a few years

Camp Celo is a remarkable experience! I highly recommend it to those who seek true food served at every meal and a variety of fun outdoor activities. One of the best things is that there is no technology involved!! Children explore the gifts of our natural world every single day they’re there: splashing in the river, spending time in the garden, playing with the baby goats, etc. It is easy to build wonderful friendships in the most beautiful setting imaginable in the NC mountains.

I have just finished my last year as a camper. I can now say that i had the best summers of my life at this camp. From hiking on the AT to making my own meals in AC it has a blast. I don't think it is easy to find such a special place. Every year i look back on all of the memories that i have made, I hope that if you go to this camp that you end up with the same wonderful experience that i had.

Love Camp Celo! My daughter attended a few times, both Jr and Sr camp. An unforgettable, fun, and confidence building experience. She loved every minute of being there- From making lifelong friends, learning about the garden, going on outdoor adventures, to swimming in the swimming hole, taking care of each other, etc.. Highly recommend!

Camp is amazing. They have amazing stuff that children can do including wood shop, skits, and outdoor activities. Everyone is kind and compassionate. It is a wholesome and loving environment. Our son has gone 2 years now and plans to keep going until he can be a Helper one day. We love Camp Celo!!!

My 17 year son attended the camp when he was 10 and loved it! We loved it so much that we sent my 11, 9, and 7 year old. They had the time of their life. It is such an enriching experience and will leave your children with memories and lessons to carry them on their journey. Priceless!!

Both our daughters attended camp here. It was a magical experience for them. This is one of the great camps in United States, and we are very fortunate to have it in North Carolina.

Took Grandson here for 3-weeks Summer Camp. Marvelous Counselors, organic farming, kids tend gardens, tend animals, swim in River, lots of hiking & tenting at camp that promotes non-violence ,& even includes meditation times! Love this camp!!

Beautiful area, Peaceful environment, Wonderful and healthy food, So much fun, AMAZING garden and animals, GREAT staff and management. Working there was an amazing experience. The kids had the best times of their lives.

Hasn't changed since I was there 30 years ago

I sent my son and daughter to Camp Celo and both LOVED it. My daughter is going back to be helper this summer and can't wait. Thank you Camp Celo for everything you do.

Then try to go as a helper next year, this camp really change my life when here from when I was 7 till my last day at senior camp. Drew I owe it all to you for those first 3 weeks. This camp is something special. It really really is.

Being out of Atlanta in the 1980's to attend Camp Celo was a calming experience for the Sikes children.

Beautiful venue, farm house and rooms are rustic and fully furnished. Perfect for weddings, family reunion or company retreat.

Fantastic summers at Camp Celo from 1988 to 1992 and 1994. Looking forward to my own kids being there too.

Camp Celo is my favorite place in the world! Nothing beats the nurturing environment and nourishing food that it provides.

My two children went for four years each and had a wonderful experience there. My daughter went back as a helper.

I love this place it is so beautiful and my oldest daughter goes here for the last two years and she will be attending her 3rd and final year here this summer. Thank y'all for what you do
