Went in on a Sunday noon to find an adapter for my water filter. The guy who helped me find the correct faucet adapter was so attentive and meticulous. I'm very pleased by his effort and amazing customer service! This is my go to store for any hardware!

Dukes is one of many great local neighborhood hardware stores. Never had a bad experience and is usually my go to store if I need small stuff like gaskets, silicone, etc for the home. Some employees have great advice and are always friendly and honest (from what I've seen so far).

Prices are pretty fair on most items I bought and is sometimes the same or better than Home Depot or Lowes so you can save gas and support locals.

Edit: I had to do some repairs to my dryer vent and they gave me some great advice. I also had to buy and rebuy things I had to return and the staff were very considerate each visit. Being a novice, it's nice to be able to go to a local hardware store where they can deal with my questions and multiple visits 😂.

Long story short, bought a box of LEDs. Not a single one worked and the Ace return policy window closed. Don’t know the woman’s name. But she tried to help me with the return anyway. Didn’t work. But she did suggest calling the Feit company and raising a flag with them. Got my refund. This group of Ace folks is always helpful and knowledgeable.

This is truly an old fashion customer oriented store. I need to buy a iron gate lock and the staffs went through a long search for this special type of lock for me. Explained to me the lock function. I don't see this kind of customer service any more and I really appreciated their dedicated service to help the customers. Thank you so much, Duke's, you make me feel like million bucks!

I’ve been through at least 3-4 iterations of shopping at this hardware store under different names/owner/mgmt and I can now definitively say that this is the best version yet. There’s typically always available someone who is multilingual to help non-English speaking customers and I’m always greeted with an employee asking if they can help usually as I walk in. And even when busy and there’s a wait to check out, they now just make me ecstatic to be playing (coincidentally) Velvet Underground’s “I’m Waiting for My Man”. The choice of VU, I must admit, clinched this glowing review of the already great store. And unlike the song the first thing you learn is you don’t always got to wait to get in & out with what you need.

Nice neighborhood hardware store with a surprisingly large selection.

Legit my favorite hardware store in the city. I live closer to the other one (you know the one) and I'll STILL go out of my way to come here because the staff is always super helpful, and they have a surprisingly wide variety of stuff for a hardware store this size. VERY rarely do I not find what I'm looking for, like I needed a 10' 1/8" aux cable, and the longest that they had was 6', I can't even complain about that.

… love these guys, there are plenty of hardware stores in the bay, this place seems to have a knack for having the thing I needed like most of the time, and I’m sometimes difficult to do that with for any type of storefront

This is an outstanding local store. I came in with a broken key and the staff went out of their way to cut a new key for me so that I didn’t have to replace my lock. I’m also amazed with how much selection is available in this store. They are the only store in the area that carries replacement parts for my toilet, including the big box stores.

Dukes Local Hardware Store has everything, especially for our old Sunset homes, everything you need for fixing anything..all the little parts. Go here first before driving out the the big stores. After spending hours searching Lowes or Homedepot Dukes had it. Its much appreciated.

Excellent service. The moment I stepped in Rick guided me to the item I needed. After I got the item another customer was in one of the check stands and Rick opened a new check stand for me.
