This restaurant was charming in its alpine atmosphere, which felt like the perfect environment for a ski village. The food was equally impressive. I adored the potato soup. The spinach "dumplings" which were more similar to meatballs were also quite good. The veal goulash was excellent as well. The best dining experience of our trip to Vail!

We loved so much we went twice in a week. One for lunch and one for dinner. We tried the schnitzel salad and the crispy pork or Oktoberfest haxn. The pork was so flavorful and juicy that we came back another round. At dinner time, the restaurant was so busy that our pork was not as moist the second time around but still delicious. The big pretzel was nothing short of amazing crispy and moist at the same time. We enjoyed both of our meals. I recommend making reservations too. It is quite lovely to sit by the window watching people stroll through town especially during lunch time. The decoration is on point. The hostess and servers were very amicable and efficient. An overall wonderful experience.

I had a chance to try a private dining in gondola. It’s 2 corse menu, giant pretzel then Swiss fondue. It was so lovely. The food was delicious. The service is pretty slow once the food is served. I believe since it’s a fondue, they wanted to leave us as our own time. My husband and I needed a refill in the middle of the meal, but it took until the end of the meal to get it. I didn’t want to be mad to ruin the experience, but if you’re planning to go, maybe keep in mind to plan ahead if you think you’ll need refill and just order 2 before the food got served (they don’t do free refill anyway). Other than that, the whole experience is just lovely.

Authentic piping hot super flavorful food, convincing atmosphere, impersonal and so-so service. There are gondolas outside in which you can have a cozy meal. Portions are huge but prices are fair. If you like German food this is the place. Macarons for dessert were out of place and not good.

Had a dinner in the gondola car. Such an incredible experience with the Bluetooth speaker, the ambiance and everything else. The service was unmatched and the food was incredible. The pretzel is one of the best I’ve ever had. Would go back 10/10

Quite a special little gem in Vail Village that really maintains their authenticity through and through. The ambiance and decor is so thoughtful, cozy and aesthetically delightful. The staff were all so cheery and kind and informative and the food was delicious! Everything we ordered was the best version you could possibly get. Also, the owner is an extremely kind person, who clearly has a passion for what she does.

OMG! Where to start? 5 stars on everything - food/drink presentation, taste, service! Absolute perfection. Everything we ate was popping, but the Goulash was my favorite! The potato pancakes (side dish) was the best hubby and I ever had (he said it was even better than the ones he's had in Munich, Germany). Note that the entree portion sizes are huge (see pics).

A must try restaurant for sure!

Very enjoyable and authentic German restaurant. We started with the fondue and a pretzel both of which were good. The entrees were also nice and the service good. Nice spot in Vail

Such a fun place. It’s like the Alps come to Colorado. Reservations are tough to come by but walk ins for lunch worked out great. The fondue is excellent and so are the brats and spaetzle was fab. Really enjoyed the cocktails and mulled wine.

We were in this place two years ago and everything was very tasty and the service was excellent. We specially came from Brickenridge this year to this restaurant without a reservation, but the girl who received the guests did everything so that we would not wait for two hours because there were a lot of guests. the service was excellent again and the food was very tasty.

Adorable spot in the middle of the village! We got the pretzel which could’ve been warmer but it was indeed still delicious. For our lunch we got the schnitzel and the Oktoberfest entree! It was absolutely amazing! The gravy was the most flavorful gravy I’ve ever had! The spaetzle was pretty bland by itself but after mixing some of the other sauces it was pretty yummy! The drinks were delicious and the presentation was MAGICAL! Why did my drink look so attractive? I don’t know, but I’m ALL about it! I personally would recommend NOT sitting inside! I’d sit on the covered/glasses in patio area that has a completely open view of the shopping path. I wish we had room for dessert so bad because it seemed so amazing but maybe next time! I’d definitely recommend you give it a try!

We have been wanting to dine at Alpenrose for a while and finally visited March 10th for lunch with no wait. Our server was wonderful and the service was great. We will be returning. I had the schnitzel salad and it was tasty.

We took in the Fondu and Raclett Gondola Experience at Alpenrose. Absolutely awesome, kids loved it, food was great, cheese amazing, gluhwein flowed smooth and pictures came out amazing. Just a great dining experience.

We come here each time we visit vail because it’s just that good. Fair priced for the quality of food you get. Extremely fast service almost to the point where it seams like they want you to eat and move along. Great atmosphere as well.

Atmosphere is lovely, feels like a true German home/restaurant. Very clean and cozy. The food was amazing, we had two appetizers and two entrees, all of which were mouth watering, with bold flavors and served hot. Very nice staff who provided fast and friendly service. We will be back and highly recommend!

What a great place to enjoy outdoor dining and a delicious meal. The bruschetta app was fantastic along with their Aspen Spritzer, which was as beautiful (see pic) as it was delicious.
Their Rote Beet gnocchi salad was perfect.
