Sonnenalp Vail

I went here for my honeymoon in late October. The room was amazing! It was huge and the view was great (it looked over the pool, but I could still see the creek and mountains). The staff was incredibly nice.

It was my first time staying at a more upscale hotel, and it was interesting. Having to call for ice was a new experience, and the staff was 10/10.

My new husband ended up at the hospital in Vail, and the hotel was AMAZING about it. They allowed us to use their in-town pickup the day after we were checked out to make sure we made our shuttle to the airport.

The location is also great! It's right in town, and when we did get to walk a little bit, it was so cute. The whole resort looks like a Swiss Chalet.

We did try the room service, which was delicious! I wish we would have been able to try more of the foods there.

The concierge was very helpful planning our trip, even though it was during shoulder season. He helped us figure out some things we could do, and places to eat at.

If I ever go back to Vail, I would love to stay here again!

Wow, what a first class experience! The valet service takes care of your luggage. They call you by your name. Room had delicious Nespresso coffee, very clean with spa quality bath products. There is a ski valet that takes your skis and boots to locker located next to gondola that you don’t have to carry your skis from the hotel. They even wash our vehicles so when we were leaving we got into clean cars. I was very happy and pleased with the service.

Beautiful hotel, great location, and attentive staff. We stayed there for our wedding and it couldn’t have been better, the whole staff was great but a special thanks to Andrew at the front desk and the housekeeping manager for being so accommodating and making the experience even more special. Also the breakfast was substantial and delicious, definitely worth including in your room package.

If we could give it six stars we would! We stayed at the Sonnenalp last weekend and it was a great experience. The hotel is in a great location and the staff is super helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Jessica at the reception for her impeccable professionalism. We will be back and will recommend Sonnenalp to our friends.

We stayed at the Sonnenalp for our November honeymoon. It was magical! Cozy rooms with character and modern amenities, friendly and helpful staff, a relaxing spa, a beautiful mountain view, and a delicious breakfast every morning at Ludwig’s. The hotel is centrally located in Vail so we could walk everywhere within 20 minutes maximum. Highly recommend!

Our first family ski vacation at Vail and we are very happy. From the moment we arrived we felt the warmth and hospitality. Arturro greeted us nicely and showed our upgraded presidential suite which was amazing. All of the concierge was very helpful in guiding and making reservations. The breakfast at Ludwig’s is one of a kind. Lunch at Bully Ranch is delicious
At the swiss chalet we had the real european experience and specifically Sigi, Danny and Nick have us the best service possible with always smiling

I used to stay at the Sonnenlap back in the 80’s when I skied there, so when my husband and I decided to visit Vail for their music festival we chose to stay there. It was even lovelier than I remembered! The rooms were beautifully updated and the service was exemplary. It was during the heatwave this past July and there were problems with the air conditioning. When my husband explained he needed a cool room to sleep, they kindly upgraded us to a suite for two nights. It was booked for the third night so they set us up in a room with fans. They were so kind and apologetic! The hotel did everything they could to keep us comfortable. The breakfasts are amazing too. We live in Santa Fe and are sure to comeback to visit soon!

Fantastic location! Right in the center of Vail. Very lovely cozy hotel. Comfortable beds, big bathroom with a huge bathtub. A little pricey ($ 600/night) but it was worth it. I would stay here again.

What a difference superior service makes! Loved the turndown service (with delicious cookies and plenty of drinking water) the constant attention to the room and the property in general, the concierge, the front desk staff. Everything was top shelf. Every member of staff made us feel welcome. Even appreciated Housekeeping arranging my toiletries on a towel. It all felt so welcoming and like we mattered. Also, the closest approximation of a Swiss hotel experience I've had in the U.S. Highly recommended!

FANTASTIC! Just spent a few days there for a conference. What amazing, food and beverages. A top notch location. Pools, Spa, Restaurants, and the staff are all absolutely delightful and so courteous.

This hotel was an absolute dream!! Me and my honey stayed here durning late august! And the weather was oh so perfect in vail CO. The hotel was spacious but yet still very COZY and don’t get me started on how wonderful the tub was!! And durning those semi cold nights getting out of the shower wasn’t so bad with the HEATED floors!! I cannot recommend this place enough!! 10s 10s 10s

Definitely stay in this hotel is so beautiful and cozy. The spa is my favorite part. Is very relaxing. Cleanliness is also a 5 star. Is in the middle of the village so you don’t have to walk much after a night of food and drinks. People are professional and friendly. I recommend this place anytime.

We've stayed in Vail plenty of times and this is by far the best hotel we've stayed in. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. Special shoutout to Austin, who was so kind to us, and when hearing it was our anniversary, gave us a late night complimentary dessert.
I think the price for the hotel is worth it if you take advantage of the amenities. The pool, sauna, and steam room are a treat! Dominik, the bartender at the pool, was super friendly and did a great job. Every staff member was so kind and accommodating, including the front desk. Overall 10/10 experience and the location couldn't be better.

We stayed at the Sonnenalp for a last-minute get away leading into Memorial Day weekend. It continues to be our favorite hotel in Vail! Our wonderful stay was marked by the warm, friendly, and attentive staff. They made us so welcome that we felt like we were in our own home. If you've never stayed at this hotel, the authenticity of the Bavarian style throughout takes you to the Alps immediately. The exquisite beauty and uncompromising detail in so many unexpected places again exceeded all our expectations.

At the time, many restaurants in town were still closed for the between season's break. We had our first experience of the food and service at the in-house restaurant Bully Ranch, which in every way stands up with any other kitchen in town. The "beet salad" was mind-blowing! And of course, the brunch buffet at Ludwig's is hands-down the finest start to the day anywhere.

What a fantastic hotel! Beautiful, private, incredibly clean rooms. The spa, although i didnt stay long, looks very European, and very relaxing. Also, Sonnedalp Vail has incredible 5 star service. I worked in a well known 5 star hotel on Maui. I know hotel service. Sonnenalp staff are friendly, professional and effective. Great place and worth the money.

The Sonnenalp Vail Resort is real gem!
The hotel itself defines old world European elegance. If you are looking for ritz and glitz you need to look elsewhere as this hotel and its staff is all about service, elegance, charm and taste. When I think of the mountains I think of warm cozy luxurious surroundings & the Sonnenalp nails this. The spaces in rooms are warm, inviting and charming. The restaurants are amazing and the spa is world class. There’s nothing we do not like about this hotel. From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcomed and taken care of. One other thing I have to mention is that the linens are beautiful: they have big, soft, fluffy duvets and you just melt into them. It’s wonderful and the bathrooms are fabulous - large soaking tubs for two. The location is perfect right in the middle of Vail Village. We would never change a thing. We are already planning our return ❤

Great location in the Center of Vail Village. The Hotel is very charming built in a European style with incredible wood craftsmanship on the interior with hand hewn beams and gorgeous details throughout. The bathrooms have heated floors for a touch of elegance and pampering. Loved my stay!

I didn’t stay here, but met some folks here and had a drink next door. This property is beautiful and right in the heart of vail. The staff was really helpful and professional.

Food was excellent. What more can one say?
