Fantastic experience at Sweet Basil. The food is extremely good and the service is on point. All the meals we ordered across a group of 6 were excellent. The only slight disappointment was the pasta component of the octopus dish which was cold and undercooked so very chewy but the octopus itself was amazing. Dessert was a piece of art, a Mushroom shaped delicacy.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience. Service was excellent across the board—thank you, Sean and team! Loved the low ABV drinks and the wine list was extensive. Everything was delicious. Standouts were the pork and the lemon fennel dessert. Highly recommend!

Nice restaurant. High end drinks and food. It gets a little noisy. The food is good. Presentation is excellent. We tried Salmon, Black cod, Scallops, Wagu Steak and best of all the great presentation of chocolate mushroom dessert. No mushrooms just looked like a mushroom. Plan on a walk to the restaurant from the big parking structure on the East end of the Village. It is free parking after 3pm. It’s about a 5 minute walk to Sweet Basil.

Exceptional restaurant in downtown Vail, easily the best place we ate at during our stay! The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was nice and the unique presentation of some of the dishes added to the enjoyment. I’d definitely recommend the Octopus, Whipped Feta, Wagyu Tartare, and the Iberian Pork. Of all the starters we tried, the Peruvian Potato Bombs was the only dish that was just ok. Everything else was great.
There was an extensive wine list with plenty of really great options at around $90-$110.
If you can get a reservation, this place is worth it; I’d definitely recommend Sweet Basil.

A wonderful place that is a must if you come to Vail! You must look to book a reservation early for dinner (we booked it 2 months in advance - a very hot ticket). We have had issues finding a reservation for dinner before because we waited to late but we were able to join them for lunch at the bar easily. We walked in hungry and with an idea of what we were going to order but that changed since the menu is seasonal and items changed. We ordered the Colorado heirloom tomato to start and it was light, very fresh and delicious. Our amazing waiter Dylan walked us through the menu and sold us into ordering the Iberian Duroc Pork Chop (it cut like a steak!) & the Ora King Salmon (one of the nicest cuts of salmon you can find with wild picked mushrooms). He was not wrong when he talked about how nice the cut of the salmon or how wonderful the pork chop was. For desert we had the lemon and fennel (very good, light and refreshing after a hearty pork chop - a must order!) and the apricot nest (unique and with a fun presentation). The service was amazing and seamless. We can not wait to come again and really appreciate everyone who had a hand in our dinner last night!

It’s fancy restaurant and it said on the website that they are michelin star restaurant. It’s busy for the reservation, but you can walk in and do waitlist at the bar or dining table. it’s separate you need to make it separate. Good it’s great. i love the Cesar salad. the Carbonara is different style as original way it has to be. It’s like a Tortillas pasta and carbonara sauce and egg on it, you need to cut up to little piece before eating. We sat at the bar so the Bartenders are great. Over is satisfied.

Thoroughly impressed with our food here. Pork chop might be the best I have ever had. We came for my wife’s birthday, at the last minute, without reservations and they still accommodated us. Our appetizers and meal were outstanding. Oysters were great. Beef tartare. Scallop crudo. All wonderful. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. She made our margaritas sweeter and was very patient with our one year old. Overall I would recommend this place to family and friends.

My mother and I came here for dinner during our stay in Vail and we were delighted with our choice! We had the best server who was attentive, engaging and recommended fabulous dishes. The food was superb, as well. Both the octopus appetizer and the lobster ravioli impressed us. I also had a fabulous glass of wine and their selection was enormous, so everyone could find something to their taste. The ambiance felt sophisticated without being stuffy, which was refreshing. We will absolutely come back our next time up in the mountains!

Best restaurant in vail, we eat here every time we are in town. The dishes are fresh, light, and delicious. The whipped feta was fun to eat with the table. Octopus was great and fresh. The potato bombs were ok, could’ve been hotter. The scallops were cooked to perfection. The Ora king salmon was the best salmon I’ve ever had. Venison was mild and a good entree, perfect seasoning. Make reservations on tock.

Great service, great quality and great atmosphere!

We managed to score some reservations on a Friday evening and enjoyed a lovely dinner with excellent wine and a view of the snow falling in Vail Village.
Don't listen to the reviews knocking the value or quality- this is Vail and you need to expect that at any restaurant you walk into. At Sweet Basil they do an exceptional job of providing high level service and delicious, fresh food.

Definitely worth a visit!

We ate at sweet basil a couple days ago and the food was amazing. We were fascinated the most by our lovely server Magda. We were very impressed with her recommendations with our dietary restrictions. Thanks for making our night special Magda and Sweet Basil staff. Will return definitely.

Beautiful place inside. From the Caesar salad we shared, to the entre's to dessert, everything was delish! Pretty extensive wine list. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves. The service was on point. Highly recommend Sweet Basil if you are in the Vail area. Make a reservation, they get pretty booked. A $25 pp charge is required when making a reservation, but is credited back after your show up for your reservation.

I have been coming here for years and I’m never wrong in bringing people here for their first time.

Food is top quality, it tastes good, it looks good and feels good. Service is really always amazing. Cocktails are amazing, music is divine. In the summer, ask for a table outside by the River.

Recommendations:
- Wagyu Carpaccio
- Carbonada Lasagna
- Wagyu steak (above and beyond)
- Halibut
- Lemon and Honey, Chocolate Ganache

Third time dining at my favorite restaurant in Vail. The service is always attentive and the food is always fabulous, on par or better with restaurants in other cities with Michelin stars. On my recent visit, I loved the beef tartare starter. It was delicious and showered in grated Parmesan cheese. Oh my umami! It came with the best Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever had and fried cornichon, which was surprising and delicious. The next dish that floored me was the venison tenderloin, cooked sous vide. It is the best and most tender venison dish I’ve ever had. The sunchoke purée accompanying it was delicious, and came with whole Sunchokes too, playing with texture. I loved the sauce, which included mustard a l’ancienne. It also came with slightly cooked frisée lettuce, surprising and delicious. I enjoyed everything else I ate, but these were the best of the best. The wine program here is very good and always enjoyable. I look forward to another culinary journey on my next trip out! Reservations are understandably difficult to get, but the restaurant takes walk-ins.

This place is amazing. Slightly off the beaten path of all the ski Apres. Finally a place with an amazing wine list and menu to boot. Food was fantastic. And the bartenders(!)…. ON POINT would be an understatement, AND the staff is so friendly. Well managed, well run, leaving with a smile, so much fun. #Tiffany/Tyler/Simon

Great general experience as usual. Service was spot on. One of the best meals you can have in Vail. For the Spring menu the Steak Tartare and Kanpachi Crudo appetizers were ok, but the Scampi pasta and the Lamb shank were fantastic. Restaurant is children friendly with a separate but delicious children’s menu. Highly recommend the children’s menu chicken pot pie as well.

Just a great spot for dinner and a cocktail, can’t complain. Everything was good, but the whipped feta and the venison definitely stole the show. The service was very good and knowledgeable, without being overbearing.
