MIT Furniture Exchange

This is a service project of the MIT Women’s League where you can discover discounted used furniture and household goods while supporting scholarships at MIT. Come on a treasure hunt! MIT, Harvard, Emerson, BU, Suffolk, or Tufts ID required to shop at the FX.

Great array of furniture and goods that deserve another life, at an affordable price point! If you have an eligible ID from one of the included schools, much recommended, even if only to peruse their wares.

So incredibly happy with my visit today. Found two perfect accent chairs for a very reasonable cost and had a lovely chat :)

We didn’t find a lot of things to buy for our new apartment but some small items were perfect for us and they were more than half price if we have bought them brand new! Go support their cause!

Very kind staff (of volunteers). Proceeds go to women's scholarships. Their selection keep changing all the time, so might be a good idea to check every now and again for good deals.

I just love this place. I feel this place encouraged reusing of stuff for very decent pricing and the amount is sent to women welfare.
I got a futon, electric rice cooker and other kitchen stuff for very good deals and very good working condition.
They also sell new mattress and box springs.

If you’re lucky enough to be an alum of one of the participating schools or to know someone who is, then the Furniture Exchange is an AMAZING option to get quality furniture at a great price and furnish your place in a way that doesn’t feel like a college dorm.

You can find almost anything you need here- couches, dressers, desks, tables and chairs, dishes, kitchenware, lamps and books! I've always found a good quality piece here for a great price that makes my apartment feel much more homey than Ikea furniture!
