Chez Maman East

I bought my wife here for her birthday and it didn’t disappoint! Food was excellent, staff were excellent and the place has just the right amount of French bistro vibes. The wine was also very good and recommended by our waiter - fortunately too because my knowledge of French wine is little to none.
The mussels were a highlight - super fresh and tasty with just the right amount of spice.
French onion soup, pork chop and the duck were also very very good. Oh, and the ice-creams were the boom! We’ll be back!

Best restaurant I’ve been to in San Francisco, amazing food, service, casual atmosphere and menu selection. French onion soup has to be experienced and burgers are so delicious. Plump fresh and flavorful patty on great French bun/roll great with an egg or Brie. They have 1664 on tap as well and trust me the most amazing beer you have tasted. Service outstanding. Love this place!

So here is what's left of lunch. My colleague and I stopped for lunch as we worked and it looked quaint. The French/Latin American atmosphere was well reflected in my burger and what was left of my sorbet. Despite the price, it is San Francisco, but worth it in terms of quality and quantity.

I was go in the night with my friend I was wait 1 hours but I think it is worth it because of the delicious food, nice people and the taste is very close to France.

Lovely neighborhood restaurant. Great atmosphere, fantastic food…wonderful for an everyday meal or a special occasion.

Great Views, French server was super nice, and food is delicious. Parking can be difficult to find, and wheelchairs may find it difficult to traverse with how steep the hill is + you would have to sit outside since there are steps into the restaurant. definitely quite loud inside, but the outside is pleasant!

I have a group of former colleagues that I consider a 2nd family and we try to go out and celebrate birthdays and special events together when we can. Chez Maman is always our go-to place and for good reason. The whole area is residential so parking isn't bad at all until you get later into the evening. It's super easy to get to right off Hwy 280. We've literally never had a bad meal or bad service there. The staff are always sincere and super nice. They don't take reservations which is the only thing I can complain about, but that's it. I love this place and the memories I've made there with my work fam will always be priceless to me.

Great restaurant, with friendly service. We were seated outside and it was very nice. My husband and I ordered the half roasted organic chicken and the hachis parmentier. The hachis parmentier was very delicious, the beef was very juicy, and the potatoes with crispy cheese on top was perfect. The chicken my husband had was also very delicious. They were both very generous portions and overall we were very satisfied with our dining experience.

Had an awesome time at this restaurant in a sweet SF neighborhood with killer views! The French onion soup was next-level, and those mussels? So good. Would definitely visit next time I’m in the city.

I’d like to start off by saying that I love the outdoor seating! The heaters kept us very warm while we enjoyed our food. It’s been many years since I’ve had escargot or mussels, so they really hit the spot. I couldn’t choose just one dessert, so I ordered three and they were all incredible! In addition to our waiter, the staff was very welcoming. Different members of the staff would check in on us, which made the entire experience all the better.

Perfect place to enjoy Mother's Day dinner. It was busy and too breezy to sit outside so our party of three sat in the window bar. Wait staff was very attentive and we all enjoyed our meals. The gluten-free buckwheatcrepes were very good as was the salmon.

This is now our go-to spot to satisfy all of our sudden crave for authentic traditional French food. Needless to say, the foods were so good that they bring back vivid memories of our travels in France. The service was excellent, as the staff were very attentive. It's not one of those superficial and overly flamboyant SF establishment that will break your wallet. Rather it's a down-to-earth neighborhood bistro that people can go back again and again. We love it and we are certain that you will too.

Amazingly delicious!!! We want you on the Peninsula. Please!!!! A fantastic French neighborhood diner. The food reminds us of dining in the French countryside. We stared with a warm goat cheese salad; mildly peppery and the subtle crunchy creaminess of the fried goat cheese. I had the chicken and subbed Brussel sprouts for the mashed potatoes. The chicken was fall apart tender and juicy and the Brussel sprouts were crispy and tender inside. The Apple tart was a puff pastry with chunks of apple; I would have liked razor thin slices of apple but the chunks were more substantial. My molten chocolate cake was very molten and chocolaty.
I want to try the mussels and duck next time. There is too much on the menu to try. I wish they also had a cassoulet.

Visited Chez Maman for a friend's birthday last weekend. I thought the food was fantastic! Requested my steak medium, and it was perfectly done. The food came out hot, and all the dipping sauces were delicious. The crème brûlée was incredible, probably the best I've ever had. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. I would absolutely come back to this restaurant!

Tried it over the years and very consistent..friendly service. Great food. The west location is slight better but more busy. Love the brussel sprouts, burger, chicken. You feel good and upbeat after a meal here

Had a wonderful dinner and service was great! We had a party of 6 and everyone had a wonderful time. Food was delicious, hot and came out timely. Would definitely eat here again.

Great service, food, and ambiance. I highly recommend. Got the half chicken and the carbonara. Both were 10/10. Also, for dessert ordered the apple tart tartine and the banana Nutella crepe and they were phenomenal.

Everything was excellent and the servers and bussers were friendly and on top of everything. I liked that there was food available at different pricepoints — apps, paninis, and entrees— so everyone can treat themselves here. Very thankful that my friend ordered dessert, it was amazing.
