I highly recommend considering Venture Custom Pool for your pool construction needs. I recently had my pool built by them, and the construction took place from October 2023 to February 2024. Mark Leuthold, the Senior Construction Consultant, did an exceptional job in meeting our requirements while staying within a reasonable budget. He presented an excellent initial design proposal based on our initial discussions and was very accommodating in making modifications to suit our preferences. The ability to view a virtual image of the proposed pool was incredibly convenient and allowed us to visualize the final outcome before any work began. Mark provided valuable suggestions and guidance based on his extensive knowledge and experience, which was immensely helpful throughout the process.
Following the finalization of the design, we were introduced to Buddy Phillips, the Construction Manager, who efficiently organized the construction timeline. Buddy was proactive in keeping us informed of any delays or issues that arose during the construction phase. Whenever we had questions, Buddy promptly provided comprehensive answers, ensuring we remained fully informed throughout the project. Additionally, as we had to travel internationally during the construction period, Buddy was accommodating in rescheduling the construction activities to ensure we could observe crucial stages of the process. Even after the construction was finished, Buddy continued to offer strong support by addressing our inquiries and attending to post-construction requirements. He dedicated considerable time to thoroughly explain the operation instructions for the pool and promptly responded to any questions we had, spending hours ensuring we were fully informed.
Overall, our experience with Venture Custom Pool, Mark, and Buddy exceeded our expectations, and we are thrilled with the final result of our pool.

From start to finish it was a great experience working with Venture Custom Pools!

During the planning phase Greg was extremely helpful and accommodating with designing our pool to maximize the budget and space we had to work with. Greg even made several site visits to ensure we didn’t miss anything.

Building a custom pool and home at the same time can be a stressful endeavor but the construction team (Angelica, Amanda, and Buddy) at Venture did an excellent job with scheduling to ensure our pool was finished at the same time as our house! Buddy, our project manager went above and beyond to facilitate a smooth project timeline, as well as answer all our questions during and after construction. Buddy even reached out several months after our pool was finished to make sure we were prepared for the freezing weather of December 2023!

I’m a general contractor myself, and really wanted to build the pool myself, but I wanted to be 100% sure that it was going to be supervised from someone with years of dedication and experience specially with in-ground pools. I shopped around and meet several sales people. I wanted a quality built pool for a fair price but also and more importantly backed by a company with a strong backbone.

I have heard several pool companies starting jobs and then shut down their doors. This is why I went with Venture Custom Pools. I had met with one of the senior sales guys name Mark a few years back when we first built our home. I remembered that he was patient communicative super experience in the field and genuinely wanted to just build pools for his clients family to enjoy. Trust me, he doesn’t need the sale. Their was no pushy tactics or unnecessary add-ons. Simply meeting the needs of what you want in your budget.

Fast forward to July 2023, and we agreed on a design and a price that was reasonable. Like I said, I shopped around.

Around 15 days later, we receive the approved permits from the city. There was a little hold up on our end with our HOA but we received the green light.

We met our pool manager by the name of Buddy. Yes, that is his real name. He was super awesome. He stated that he doesn’t wanna make any promises but by the way things were looking and how he was setting up his schedule, he would have this project done, swim ready in five weeks. I was a little optimistic because I know the average time it takes with all the permit process, weather and other unforeseen delays.

He kept us up to speed on everything that was taking place and shared so much knowledge, as he is very experienced in every aspect in the pool industry.

Within four weeks, our pool was complete. Yes, four weeks and swimming. When you have a good manager that stays on top of his crew, back by a good company, this is the result. Our pool is beautiful. It’s even better than we thought it was going to be. Special shout out to my man Buddy! Keep up the good work. And thanks for giving us enough weekends to enjoy the pool before we entered the colder season.

My family was in a pinch to decide on moving forward with a new home purchase and we needed someone to help us decide if the property lot would adapt well to our future pool project plan. Mark at Venture Pools stepped up amazingly. Not only did he help put together a nice design last minute, but he also provided his years' worth of insights into things we had not even thought about when considering the new home and our pool project desires. In the end we opted to wait for a bigger property lot and I have to credit Mark and Venture for helping us with this major decision. The pool that Venture custom built for us was splendid. Make sure you do your own research when building a pool! Know what components and features you want in a pool or you may get pool builders upselling you on it (this is for inground). We went with Venture Custom Pools after interviewing about 5 different builders.

Below is a breakdown of how we selected our pool builder.

In order:

1. Picked a pool company that was willing to work with our budget, had a good track record of building pools (# of pools built the past 2-3 years. Had good sales/revenue records to prove that they build pools -- had reliable/stable trade-crews w/ good reputation).

- Venture checked that box.

2. Picked a pool company that had good warranties (not just the pool equipment but craftsmanship warranties as well so they follow-up and fix/address problematic tiles, coping, defects, etc.)

- Venture checked that box and has addressed issues (nothing ever goes to plan or is perfect..)

3. We cared a lot about customer service (once the contract was signed) so we wanted to make sure we picked a pool company with good communication skills (I asked to make sure our project manager (Thanks Bret!) would update us frequently, be available to answer questions, etc.. throughout the whole process. If I didn't sense the pool company would be transparent and communicative, I moved on to the next pool company (some companies will seem to be responsive until you sign with them).

4. Know what components and features you want or don't want in a pool or you may get pool builders upselling you on it (this is for inground). Also, stick to your budget and ask what options you have!

-Venture understood what I wanted and what we were looking for (didn't try to upsell us). They made suggestions but my family and I knew where we were going to spend and where we were going to go lower cost on.

Ultimately, what was most important to us was a company that would stand behind their work, team and deliver (not necessarily on-time but close to it). Venture Custom Pools did that.

With any project, there were delays due to weather (rain/hail) and scheduling issues due to backed up clients. My family didn't expect the schedule to go to plan even though Venture said it could be done on a given timeline. While it could've obviously gone better, faster, and efficient, we felt Venture Custom was better than the other builders we interviewed because they were willing to fix issues post-build.

Would we build a pool with them again? The answer is Yes.

If Venture Custom Pools could improve here is what I would suggest employees at Venture Custom Pools focus on.

- Explain all the options of what is possible given the budget
- Explain the soil injections (pool shell/decking)
- Ask how we want our pool to be cleaned (robot, suction-wall, auto cleaning features)
- Explain why sand or cartridge is better
- Explain salt vs. chlorine
- Explain auto-fill water vs. manual fill
- Explain how important positioning/placement of pool lights are, not just about led strength
- Explain drain holes and its locations and why
- Explain why one would need 1 or 2 skimmers
- Be proactive in scheduling and informing clients of when trades are scheduled and when it has been re-scheduled for a later date.

In general, I enjoyed my pool building experience. If you're looking for a company that will work with you to get what you want done pick Venture Custom Pools over the many out here in the DFW area.

Remember, the cost of building a pool is typically more than an expensive luxury vehicle (the one we built was our second largest purchase -- second to our home).

Pick a high-quality pool builder like Venture Custom Pools that have good crews (trades) and will support and fix issues that arise...(because there will be!).

We highly recommend Venture Custom Pools. They were able to transform my backyard from an empty space with grass to an oasis. Our great experience started in the design phase. Mark from design, listened to our ideas. He was able to show us what our back would look like when completed. We were impressed and excited.
As with any construction, delays and issues can happen. Sometimes we cannot control it. However, Brett (construction manager), Amanda (office) and Angelica (office) kept us on track to finish our backyard within the timeline proposed.

I recently had Venture Custom Pools design and build a custom pool for my backyard and I cannot say enough great things about their work. Had a great experience working with Mark and Bret. Marks design for our unique space was far and away better than any of the other designs from other companies. Very impressed. Execution has been great and they’ve been attentive to addressing any concerns or changes we have had or made along with way. It’s been an amazing to see it come together so quickly.

We were referred to Venture from friends after having reached out to several other companies. From the beginning with Ken in the design process to help us design our pool was amazing. He listened to what we wanted and came up with an amazing design. Brett was our project manager and he did an outstanding job! He was easy to talk to and responded to any questions or concerns we had. We were nervous about starting such a major project since you mostly hear negative experiences with pool building and everyone tells you how stressful the process is. Brett and Angelica kept us very well informed on each step throughout the entire process. Our project took two months to complete and there were no delays in the process. We recently received a quote from Venture Custom Pools for a renovation, or pretty much a replacement, for our outdated in-ground pool, and I’m impressed. Their quote was competitive and their professionalism stood out. Competitive meaning the best out of 4-5 we received and by a nice margin.

My experience with venture has been great. Very responsive and ensured that all details are accounted for. We worked with Mark in the design/get started process and Bret in the construction process. Both have done a great communicating and advising us, not just telling us what we want to hear. We're half way through the project (seemingly ahead of schedule) and are pleased with the service and speed. Would definitely recommend at this stage in the process. Will follow up with another review and pictures once the job done!

5 stars and beyond!!

As a small business owner and a single mom of boys of two; I never dreamt of owing a pool. However, with a 9 and 13 years who constantly glued to their iPads; I want to give them a place to enjoy during the Texas long summer. I stumble and found Venture Pool highly recommended on NextDoor and so I decided to give them a call. That is the actually the start of magic and my dream coming true.

Mark, the senior designer who came out for the estimate/consult; instead of talking about numbers right away, he asked why I wanted a pool. He then took time listening and answer all the questions I had at the time. Then I told him my budget and he said he would try his best to help build the dream pool for my boys. It took about 2 hours in the late June summer heat; never once he was irritated. He was patient and attentive the entire time.

A week later, I got the proposal and decided to go with them. Yes, I did not even contact any other pool builders. Mark’s sincerity and his profound knowledge and professionalism won me over that first day. It may seems irrational to some but in my heart, I knew I chose the right company.

When the construction started I was told it would take about 3 months. Bret was assigned as the supervisor for my project. I did made the mistake thinking Bret would update me everything and every day. When I brought up the issue, Mark took his time and told me that it was Angelica/Amanda (the schedulers) - which was stated in an email clearly (that I didn’t read through). I was quite embarrassed but again Mark reassure me that we all will try to communicate better for me. This little hiccup showed me how well they work as a team and treats each other like family members. As a business owner, I admire how they help each other in time of conflicts.
After 2 1/2 months, my pool is now finished (still need some minor tune up) but the boys can start swimming tomorrow.
The thing is we often take time to write and express our displeasure. Venture pool team especially Mark and Bret deserve to be recognized for all the hard work and professionalism that they displayed. The pool is beautiful and I cannot thank them enough to make my dream come true for my boys. Our family will have more lovely memories of them growing up because of this. Of course, I am going to enjoy my evening wine in my own oasis.
If you are in the market for building a pool or an outdoor oasis, I would highly recommend Venture Pool. The dream team will definitely make your dreams come true like mine!!!
